"Poor Quality Product (updated)"

Things dont always go right but how a company fixes things if something does go does wrong really tells you how good they and their products really are.

In my case the very expensive 1800mm Door Handle
on my Palermo door which in total cost me over £2k has gone very rusty after only 8 months after being installed.

Solidors response to the photos provided has been to blame the installer, then me the customer for not not maintaining it properly rather than being a issue with the product which needs replacing after less than year.

So a quick update re the above x after posting the review Solidor made contact. It turned out the door had been sourced through a third party supplier and it was this supplier that was trying to wash their hands of the issue rather than Solidor themselves.

Once they got involved there response was absolutely first class and they immediately agreed the handle was faulty and agreed to replace it. They also offered for an engineer to come and install it.

My only reason for now not giving this 5 stars is you need to spec an alternative type of stainless steel if you live near the coast which wasn’t clear in any of the literature (or I missed it)

However that said I would certainly use Solidor again and based on their response would be more than happy to recommend them to friends and family

I asked my builder for a Solidor as it they where recommend to me by a friend.
Both my builder and I where impressed by the quality and overall superiority of the door and it’s accessories compared to the many other doors available!

I purchased a new Solidor Edinburgh back door about a year ago as I was already the owner of one of their front doors which I had had for nearly ten years. There have certainly been much welcome improvements to the hinges on the newer door (the old one has dropped over the years, sticks slightly and cannot I am told be adjusted further), it opens and closes easily, is well engineered and is generally fit for purpose. However, despite this I recently noticed that an end cap was missing from the bottom weather bar so I contacted the company to ask whether they would be able to send me a replacement. Within 12 hours they had responded positively and professionally and were happy to send me the parts without charge. My own experience of Solidor's products and its staff has been entirely positive. l am happy to recommend their products to others and proud to support this company in these uncertain times.

I have two Solidor doors, one is a stable door and I have had it for a few years. The doors are great, they were fitted right first and on time. I needed a new part due to my carelessness and again they were first class.
Great doors, great service, great price and great staff.

Purchased a composite stable September 2019 through White Windows Ltd on the Isle of Wight the fitters done a tremendous job. Quality door very pleased with it.
I would buy another. I think your experience is a good as the installer.

We spent more than £2000 on a new Solidor door and surround fitted by our local fitters (Bicester UPVC) after a couple of weeks we noticed that the door was sticking out at the top and the bottom of the frame so we called our fitters out to have a look and the way it was described is I quote its bent like banana and needs replacing. Last week we had the Solidor accessor come to look at it and am shocked by his report apparently it just needs adjustment. My wife is struggling to open the thing and is now using the back door to get into the house so we have spent over £2000 on a door that is bent and isn’t fit for purpose. I have just had another door fitter look at it and he can’t believe how bent it is and has told us it will probably get worse over the years. Absolutely disgusted by the whole thing not sure what the 10 year guarantee cover but obviously not a door that we can’t use.
Just an update the door is now much better than it was by no means perfect but it is much easier to open and Bicester UPVC have been brilliant and would definitely recommend them. The only thing I would add is that Solidor need to talk to their guy that came out and look at our door as it was like he was on a top secret mission and everything we asked him was answered with I can say anything love or it will all be in my report etc very patronising. We have always loved the look of the door but this could have and should of been dealt with in a more professional manner so still can’t recommend Solidor.

"Leaking window cassettes/ wet porch floor"

We have had a Solidor door for almost 4 years. This winter we noticed that our porch floor was wet every time it rained. Now the internal side of the door is all marked with water marks and black colours stains where what I can only assume is adhesive of some type is running down the door. Basically the windows are all leaking and the door is constantly wet when it rains. The door may also be warped now. My big problem is that the installation company has gone bust and Solidor will not discuss this problem with me directly, even though I believe it is a manufacturing issue and not an installation issue. I am now left with a door costing over £1000 that leaks every time it rains! Will not buy a Solidor door again.
