"I purchased my Solidor just over 3yrs ago"
I purchased my Solidor just over 3 years ago, having read reviews I thought it would be sensible to test our door before leaving a review.
Having researched numerous door manufacturers, all having mixed reviews I spoke with a local installer whom advised Solidor were the best business to deal with, providing great quality products on time.
I reviewed the Solidor website and was amazed by the product offerings, my partner and I loved the offerings so much, we decided on a new front door, back door and french doors. The front and french doors were matching designs with the back door being the stable option.
We ordered our doors via the installer who advised a fitting date. True to their word, the doors arrived direct to our property for the installer to secure into our property.
The driver arrived with a beeming smile and off loaded the doors. I offered to help move the doors into my garage for temporary storage but the driver was more than happy to support. (I did attempt to move one and I was amazed my the weight of the product.)
All 3 doors arrived, wrapped in protective cardboard and film wrap, with additional boxs containing cylinders and designer handles.
Upon completion of installation I reviewed the doors and was pleasantly surprised by the workmanship involved in manufacturing the doors. The doors felt solid yet very easy and light to open/close, the French door and stable doors both operated smoothly without catching on the midrail or door seals. The product felt fantastic, solid and secure whilst uplifting our property.
After 3 years of use the doors still operate fantastic and looks nice and bright, all my family and friends ask about our doors and I am more than happy to recommend a Solidor to them.
Great product, which has lasted well.

"New Door"
Solidor manufactured and installed my door. The quality and craftsmanship is suberb. The customer service is excellent from quoting to fitting.
The door looks amazing, so much so the neighbours have asked for Solidors details. I was happy to recommend them.
One happy customer.

"Super Service"
First, can I say a huge thank you to the customer services team at Solidor and especially Rachel for her great advice and support. Last week we had a problem with our original door supplier who sadly are no longer in business. The team came to my rescue within hours and a field services engineer attended the day after. Thank you so much to Kevin the engineer...

"Solidor doors are not a stable product and bow like a banana."
Fitted a Solidor front door last year (2019). Within a couple of weeks the door had bowed like a banana (Top to bottom and left to right). The door is constantly changing shape.
It had a slight bow, top to bottom, to start with; however this made the closing easier to start with as the top and bottom of the door made contact first as they should.
Solidor's response was that the door was incorrectly fitted as the keep side of the door frame was not bowed outwards by 2mm at the centre. Yes the instructions say to do, however this made closing difficult (because of the initial slight bowing) so the frame was fitted true and square. I question how many installers do this 2mm bowing of the frame as part of the fitting; particularly if there is a glazed panel to the side?
Solidor also quote that their manufacturing tolerance is 5mm of bow - which I can tell you is noticeable to the eye.
Solidor don't like to speak to customers directly which puts my supplier in a bad position as his communication and service was excellent.
Pointless pursuing any further as Solidor will claim incorrect fitting even it's the wrong colour of frame fixing screws.
This is the first and last time I will be using Solidor during building work and refurbishments and would not recommend Solidor to anybody. They don't advertise they sell bowed doors as they should do.
I have put up with this door for over 6 months now and felt it was important to warn others.
Will speak to an Endurance door representative to discuss replacing this Solidor.
You have been warned.

"Rosewood composite door installed 18…"
Rosewood composite door installed 18 months ago Nothing but draughts
Installer adjusted a couple of times
Solidor rep Kev came -would not tell me the outcome of report -said it would got to installer -who has denied receiving the report
I have now also noticed light shining through around the keyhole itself!
In the meantime I use a draught excluder & blutack around other areas-never again

"Cracked skin"
Fitted a solidoor to my new build, paid £1800 for side panel and door, supply only.
It doesn't get any sun untill very late afternoon and the door skin has cracked around the small square windows and almost every vertical resessed has cracked, add to that the door is bowed,
It would seem the wood core expands and the bonded plastic skin can't expand enough so cracks
Hate to think what it would be like if it faced the mid-day sun

"I’m taking it to the dump"
June Update: I’m skipping it asap I’m researching getting a decent door. The solid cores in these what are they? Balsa? When I have it removed I’ll let you know how heavy a Solidor is. I expect not very. Now lockdown is done I hear conversation level voices of passers-by, from roughly 4 metres away, as well as car stereos.
If I understand Trustpilot data - & I could be wrong - 100% of Solidor 5* reviews are invited by Solidor. And Solidor challenge 79% of 1* reviews to try to get Trustpilot to take them down.
Earlier review: I paid 60% and that is still overpriced. A Flint that leaks air that blows a match flame at 45 degrees, the cill fills with water, soundproofing non-existent despite acoustic glass. Sounds more like HollowDoor. 3 or 4 revisits by the fitters to try to fix the draught, I hung an expensive heavy curtain in the end. Owen Mullock of Solidoor wrote to say the flame blowing draught is within factory tolerance & to block the gaps with blue tack. If I’d kept my old ‘poor quality’ door I’d have had it refitted & the Flint taken away. Solidor is owned by US Masonite it seems, so when you see ‘UKs finest doors’ it means ‘extremely poor quality from Florida’.

"Solidor fits bowed doors and expects customers to be happy."
We had a Solidor front door fitted around 2 years ago. It was always difficult to open from the outset. The reason is simple, it's badly bowed. Because of this, the multipoint locking becomes a liability making the door very difficult to open.
The fitters have revisited 3 times. The Solidor rep has visited. Solidor have said that the degree of bowing is "in tolerance", and they blame the the fitters. The fitters shrug their shoulders. The door is still bowed.
I would not recommend this company to anybody. Their quality control is dubious, and their attitude is dreadful.
I plan to replace it when time and funds allow. With a wooden door, fitted by craftsmen.

"White patchy marks on door."
First let me start by saying I have never written a review of any kind in the past, even though I have had plenty of bad meals and hotel stays none of which have even tempted me to write a bad review but I feel I have to about this shocking company. We had a black door fitted about two years ago and after about 18 months a white faded patch appeared on the door. Over the course of the following six months several more started appearing. I contacted my installer who reported the matter to Solidor, as we are not allowed to speak to them directly. They simply came back with a response telling them that we have put some kind of cleaning product on it which we have not! They say the doors do not discolour, well it has! We have continued to pester our installers regarding the issue but the Solidor rep refuses to come and take a look and now has got to the point where by they are not even responding to them. Awful company AVOID!

"Do they stand up to the name?"
For all of those customers happy with a new install, wait a couple of years and see if your door has stood up to the elements. The fake lead on the glass is peeling off. The more I see both my 'solid' doors warping, the more concerned I am that one day I will not be able to deadlock the door and my home insurance is invalidated. With a complicated network, still no gesture to help correct the faults after reporting the issue months ago.
One customer who should have purchased traditional hardwood doors...
