There are a good variety of Doors to pick from and a good selection of colours. The cloud is very easy to use and makes designing a Door fun. Keep up the good work Solidor!

"Great solid door, built like a tank..."

Only had the door installed for a couple of weeks and it seems built like a tank, really solid!. I have not tried to clean it or rub it or anything else and also I have been careful with central heating to allow the door to acclimatise gradually.
Unlike any UPVC door that you can easily kick the flimsy middle panel in you can't go through this solidor as it is solid wood on the core.

Very pleased, obviously time will tell but very happy so far, would highly recommend. That was a kitchen door, i went for Conway design with White inside and Rosewood outside. That installer Karl in Manchester was great, just looking at the silicon runs absolutely perfection...

Be careful before splashing out your hard earned cash on a composite door from Solidor Ltd.

I purchased 2 via my local FENSA registered installer who fitted them, only to find that the 10 year warranty isn't worth the paper it's wrote on. The multi point lock failed/broke after 3 years leaving me locked out of my property. I contacted Solidor who informed me that the door furniture, locks, hinges, letterbox, knocker and handles aren't covered by the warranty from Solidor and only covered by the installer, usually 12 months, in my case 24 months. The installer did get me a new lock as a goodwill gesture but wanted £60 to fit it. I did it myself in 10 minutes! Guess what, the new lock broke after about 4 months.

The multi point locks are manufactured by 'Avantis' and are of poor quality. I stripped the first broken one down and one of the essential parts which was made of die cast alloy was full of porosity and badly designed. It was only a matter of time before it was going to fail.
I am now looking for another replacement but of a different make.

Just to add insult to injury the woman at the installers, Sedgefield Windows, was quite abrupt and suggested that some 2 year old kids could have been swinging on it. My wife and I are both pensioners.
My point is that surely the handles and locks should be fit for purpose for everyday use.

"Design Detail Poor and Not Shown on Website"

There are details in the design of the solidor door we purchased that are not disclosed as part of the sale process and which would have prevented us from buying the door we did if we had known. We purchased a door and side panels.

Both the solidor website and the suppliers provide a computer generated image which does not show all the detail:

- It does not show that there are trims, both internal and external, used to conceal the joint between the main door and panels and which spoil the line of the door.
- It does not show that the draft excluder/brush material is also used as a design feature within the panels itself. This looks bizarre.
- The strike plate for the main lock ends abruptly, rather than curving around the door frame like the other strike plates, requiring a slam to shut the door.

In the case of the first two issues I contacted the supplier, who in turn contacted Solidor, bur was told that is the design and that's that. I did not contact the supplier with the last issue - feeling there was no point.

"Great product great customer service"

I had a Solidor Beeston installed 4 years ago on the SW facing side of my house. My house is on the top of a hill and the SW face gets all the wind and rain. It. Has never leaked or let the wind through the joints. This week I noticed the bottom seal had split. I contacted Solidor customer queries asking where I could get a replacement seal. Grace got back to me the same day requesting a photo of the seal. Once I had sent an image back Grace sent me the necessary seal. Great customer service thanks Grace thanks Solidor.

So far very pleased with our Solidor. Only had it installed for a week. We chose Painswick which looks fabulous on our house.
I emailed Solidor early one morning to request the RAL code so that we can paint our meter boxes the same colour and receive a response within hours. Great customer service.

Very patient and helped me greatly with what doors i could and couldn't have due to my current door being very short.
I will definitely be perusing ordering my door via one of their recommended installers.
