Handicare fitted a quality product for my mother. There were adjustments to be made after the initial installation but all efforts were made to remedy this. Along the way there were also delays with wrong parts being delivered. In truth, my mother changing her mind about her requirements made things difficult for both myself and Handicare. However, all was resolved and Handicare handled everything professionally. She is now extremely happy with the stairlift and it has made life a lot easier for her.

"Customer service lacking - now improved"
We pay £650 for a 2 year service plan for a 1 floor curved stairlift
It includes an annual service, but guess what, Handicare don't call to remind you, hoping they can save the cost
I called arrange an annual service a week ago. This was difficult as the general office is sales and they don't talk to the service department, so I to call again, and they don't talk to the scheduling department, so 3 calls to arrange an annual service
The service was supposed to ne today, and we were told someone would call first thing to tell us tge approximate time the engineer would arrive
No call received
At 2pm I called them. It took 20 mins fir them to answer the phone. I explained my issue. No apology was offered. They said a maintenance visit was scheduled today and some would call the engineer to find out likely time of arrival
No-one called back
Engineer did not turn up
All their marketing sounds very friendly and caring but once they've got your money they clearly don't care
REVIEW UPDATED ON 17/3/25
Following my original review on 13/3/25 I was contacted early the following morning by someone from customer service who had gone to the trouble of tying up my review with the customer records and called me at home
She was appreciative of my detailed review and apologised and promised to try and put everything right that had failed
She also arranged for a maintenance call on 17/3/25
This went as it should with a call from the engineer at about 10am and he arrived about an hour later
It is a shame it took a bad review for them to deliver the service that they should deliver every time
But well done Handicare in the end

"The company itself was very helpful"
The company itself was very helpful. Unfortunately the rep who sold me the stairlift told me that they wouldn’t screw the legs into the carpet so it wouldn’t spoil it. I bought a new stair carpet before it was fitted but unfortunately they *did* screw the legs through the carpet. I wouldn’t have bought a new one had I known this. I would have preferred the rep tell me the truth rather than a complete lie.

Attention to detail on first visit. Very prompt on delivery. Installation was excellent.
The fitter was very kind and patient with detailed instructions on using the chair lift.
I would recommend this company and and Age Concern.
