Want a stair lift that won’t last 5 minutes? Get one from here!
Fitted and stopped working in 6 days.
‘Engineer’ repaired it broke down in 4 days
Then stopped charging and constantly beeping repaired again.
Next time it failed and was replaced, lasted 3 weeks now will not go up stairs again!
Fixed again… last a couple of weeks and exactly the same fault!
What a horrible piece of scrap on my stairs. When it does work the noise it makes is immense! Just have to hope no one is trying to sleep when you use it if you get the chance to use it!

I’ve tried talking to you on the phone to give my complaints no one is interested in taking them. Your call centres are a joke as are the products you supply. I can’t express how disgusted I have been with your company and stair lifts.
For anyone else reading please use dolphin stair lifts when possible. I’ve been stuck with handicare because it is who the local authority use

Two-fold review
1* for the phone system as I tried to call in some feedback today and found myself in a repetative loop of advertising, no indication of where I was in the que or seemingly no ability to actually speak to anyone, my dad also found this to be a problem when calling up about issues with his chairlift which originally put him off getting anyone out to it.
5* Ashley the service man who did come out and see to the lift sorted out all the issues my dad had with his lift, mostly beeping sporadically and Dad says it seems faster now.
If your phone line actually put you through to somebody to talk to the whole process would be alot quicker for people trying to phone in.

"Disappointing after sales service"

My parents bought a stairlift for £4700 in March 2021 for my father to use . He passed away 5 months later, Handicare uninstalled it and it was placed covered in an integral garage.
My mother now has the need of this stairlift. On contacting Handicare for them reinstall it, I was very disappointed to discover this is not a service that they offer. They will uninstall and reinstall a stairlift for a change of carpet but nothing else.
They explained that they did not know what had happened to the stairlift whilst being stored. I would have been more than happy to pay for it to be reinstalled, serviced and any spare parts that might have been needed. (They are still available). There is no local Handicare agent that can assist me.
Events like this only add to the stress of caring for my mother who has poor mobility, dementia and is recovering from pneumonia.
EDIT.07/03/25 After being told by Handicare there is no local agent to assist me I have discovered by doing my own research that there is. MK STAIRLIFTS. The person I spoke to there was annoyed that I had been given incorrect information by Handicare.

I found Handicare an excellent company to deal with. They kept us updated from when the order was placed to the installation . Daniel Wood was extremely helpful and Paul the fitter was extremely polite and helpful. So far so good.

"GOT THIS STAIR LIFT FITTED 12TH…"

GOT THIS STAIR LIFT FITTED 12TH DECEMBER 2024 FOR MY 86 YEAR OLD MAM. SALES MAN WES SAUNDERS WAS GREAT AND FITTED WITHIN 10 DAYS. SINCE THEN WE HAVE HAD THE STAIR RAIL REPLACED BECAUSE WHERE THE JOINT JOINED ON THE RAIL THE CHAIR REALLY JERKED OVER IT ( MAM 5 STONE IN WEIGHT) AND NOW ONTO THE SECOND MOTHERBOARD, WHICH WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR AS THE TECHNICHAN WHO CAME OUT DID NOT HAVE A SPARE ONE IN HIS VAN. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL TODAY 17/02/2025 TO SAY IT WOULD BE A WEEK BEFORE THEY CAN COME OUT AND FIT NEW MOTHERBOARD, IN THE MEANTIME THE TECHNICIAN HAD TO OVERWRTIE THE ERROR MESSAGE TO ENABLE THE CHAIR TO WORK, WHICH HE DID SAY COULD GO AGAIN AT ANY TIME. WOULD NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN, HAVE TO SAY ALL 3 TECHNICANS HAVE BEEN VERY NICE, NOT THERE FAULT THEY ARE WORKING WITH SHODDY GOODS

"Helpful and friendly. Sturdy product."

A very pleasant experience. The service was quick and efficient. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The fitting was mess free and my new stair lift is really aiding me to get about the house. It feels nice and sturdy when I'm going up and down.

It was good value and I would definitely recommend.
