I recently missed my connecting flight home as my first flight was delayed by over 3 hours. At this time, I was directed by Dohop on the phone to book a new return flight and then submit the claim for reimbursement. This process was quite straight forward, but I have been informed that I will not receive reimbursement for over 30 days. Unfortunately, I don’t have the extra cash to pay the 650 GBP and will have to wait for reimbursement to get it off my credit card at which point I will have additional interest costs. When asked if anything can be done to accelerate the reimbursement process, I was told no. I understand reimbursement could take a bit of time but over a month is not reasonable. Especially when they cannot promise a particular timeline or details regarding the amount that will reimbursed.

"I was reimbursed for a missed flight"

Unfortunately, the self connecting flight sold to us on Dohop had a nearly impossible time window. Our connecting flight was only 30 min late, but we weren't even close to making our final flight. I did call Dohop immediately, and while they didn't book a new flight for me as is advertised, they did look up some flights which I booked on my own. About 30 days later they provided a near full reimbursement for the cost of our new flights and cab fare to a neighboring airport.

If our initial flight wasn't 30 min late, we probably still would not have made the connection, and I'm not sure if I would have been reimbursed in that situation. On my initial phone call the representative only said he "thinks they should" be able to reimburse me, but couldn't guarantee it.

I probably won't risk booking with Dohop again, they don't seem to verify that the connecting flights they sell are realistic, but they did reimburse the expensive replacement flight as promised, so fulfilled their end of the deal.
