Salve ho stipulato ieri una assicurazione con columbus per partire in vacanza a Natale. Ieri ci ho ripensato e ho inviato la richiesta di disdetta. Nessuna risposta, sono ben nei 14 giorni per il ripensamento... e adesso che faccio che non rispondono?

"Won’t honour the cooling off period and won’t cancel policy"
I paid for a years policy with Columbus and the next day changed our mind and I contacted them to cancel the policy. It has been nearly a month now and I have sent numerous emails to the correct address and no one has responded. The next step will be the ombudsman as it appears they don’t want to honour their ‘cooling off period’

"Dopo 5 mesi tutto tace, anzi scrivono di non disturbarli che prima o poi risponderanno!"
Sono trascorsi 5 mesi dalla richiesta di rimborso per una mancata partenza (con documentazione pronto soccorso). Si limitano ad inviare una mail al mese in cui scrivono che è in lavorazione, di non scrivere e non chiamare (così non hanno rotture). Conviene far scrivere da un avvocato, altrimenti nada! In ogni caso il consiglio è, non guardate al "risparmio" di qualche euro che magari vi possono proporre in fase di stipula, rivolgetevi a compagnie più serie e solide

"my experience with columbus direct insurance company"
it started very nice and promising. i sent them all the documants they wanted to have and they made me hope i would get my money within a couple of weeks. but 3 months passed i have not heard anything about my claim. yesterday i tried to contact them but the webpage gave me premium number which costs a pound a minute 08438162373. of course i did not use it. i am loosing slowly the hope that they will come back to me.

"Travel insurance not fit for purpose."
Just received a response from CD (claims denied)the standard response given the months it took and delaying tactics used and also trying to convince the claims department that we we on holiday in Spain not in the Alps skiing as they believed, I can’t honestly believe our claim was handle fairly or correctly and given so many people have experience similar problems to us the fault clearly lies with Columbus Direct I don’t expect our claim to be resolved,equally directing us to the ombudsman I consider a cop out and a weak response from any company,but I will make it my mission to let as many people know how poor this company is at providing travel insurance fit for propose.

After the unfortunate news that I came back positive on my test a week prior to my travel.
Columbus didn’t get in contact straight away, however after reviewing my claim, after a month of putting it through. My claim was settled and the money was returned within two months of starting the claim process.
Really helpful and greatful for the support at such a difficult time.

I couldn't find a copy of the policy documents on our computer; Columbus sent a copy immediately, with a very polite email! A few weeks ago they dealt very quickly with a question that arose about cover. Very impressed with the high quality of service.
