"Lovely holiday booked with LHH"
I have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Scotland, booked last minute through LHH after a certain company ( unfortunately I cannot name them on this review!) cancelled my holiday with no explanation and were completely impossible to contact, now that’s what I call appalling service!!
In stark contrast, LHH were professional, replied to my emails quickly and all the information that I needed was sent promptly. The house I booked was immaculate and LHH’s description of the house was truthful.
I would book another holiday with LHH without hesitation.

"LHH are by far the worst company I have…"
LHH are by far the worst company I have dealt with over this pandemic and before. I booked a cottage with them in November last year paid in full before our due to arrive date in April 2020 which was cancelled due to travel restrictions in place due to covid 19. Instead of being sympathetic in their correspondence they were unhelpful refused to refund or offer other dates stating their cottage owners would be out of pocket! Told to claim through insurance which failed and when i went back to them found out owner had ended their agreement due to lack of customer service they had wanted to offer refunds or alter dates but LHH had refused to do this because they would not get their admin fee.
Awful company, I note they are still advertising that cottage with no availability, even though the owners had left LHH several months ago!!! Awful company would advise to stay well away..

Very poor experience
Paid in full for cottage in April. Cancelled by LHH due to covid.
Confusing and contradictory messages on website. No refund. No offer to reschedule.

We spent a week at 7B Ardroil on the Isle of Lewis in August 2020 and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The house is very well designed and equipped and ideal for two people. We had no problems with the booking with LHH Scotland.

"Luxury family holiday in Munlochy"
We spent a week at Quarryfield House 10 mins north of Inverness this August 2020 - a staycation that met all expectations. The house is spacious and has a well thought out flow to its areas making meals or down time for all generations a joy. There are many things to do in the house and in the vicinity. We found beautiful beaches, cafes, fun shops, fruit picking and a brewery next door. The views and bird life are a great pleasure. We saw dolphins out by the lighthouse and found delicious local fresh fish and a top quality butcher nearby.
The house is well equipped and very comfortable.

Given the Competition and Market…
This company has completely departed from the Competition and Market Authority's position on refunds during the Covid period. We eventually received a refund but that was down to the property owner cancelling.
In the run up to the cancellation, the webpage guidance on Covid conditions basically told customers that LHH had no responsibility to refund customers. This compares very unfavourably to their competitors who have reacted positively to the CMA ruling.

Luckily our Mull house holiday was taken end of July. Carsaig House was lovely and the 2 housekeepers Sam and Amy true gems. I wish LHH would take note of their communication skills and general friendliness though. As business owners ourselves we totally empathised with the stresses Covid caused and how folk may not be their best. However not one of the communications we received prior to our holiday were friendly, empathetic or even pleasant. They were defensive,perfunctory to the point of rude and devoid of any warmth. I was hassled to pay the balance before we had confirmed that our ferry booking still stood (We live in Scotland and CalMac absolutely stood out with sheer loveliness; helpful and friendly at every opportunity). It is a shame because they have some great properties but i would not use them again. It is clear that LHH consider the home owners their clients not the holidaymakers. We holiday abroad with Simpson Travel and the customer service difference is so vast it is almost comical.
**(LHH should really sort out and standardise their welcome baskets ... we received a bottle of fizzy wine which for a £400 a night property for 8 people was welcome but measly - I provide masses more than that for my £75 a night airbnb!)

We have a lot of trouble withe them and we're still waiting for the refund of our cancelled booking due to the corona-pandemic.
We'll go to court, if neccessary.

Our experience is similar to that of the other recent 1* raters who have eloquently expressed the issues and managed not to have their comments redacted. Conversely my previous review has been languishing in the 'reported by LHH' pile awaiting Trustpilot's input since mid July, despite containing nothing that broke Trustpilots' rules - simply told the truth about our disappointing and distressing experiences dealing with LHH and their approach to customers in the coronavirus crisis. It would appear to me that LHH are trying this tactic as a 'gagging mechanism'. (A 'get around' is to delete and start again).
In my opinion, never has reading reviews in an intelligent fashion been more necessary than prior to booking with LHH Scotland, particularly in the current crisis.
