"Having had the misfortune of using"

Having had the misfortune of using this company several times and having several issues, granted some outwith their control. It is their lack of offering any resolution other than “we’ll cancel the booking for you”, and by doing so leave you without your planned transport and their customer support team consistently being utterly vile to deal with.

"What has happened to this company"

What has happened to this company? When I joined there were 5 cars available: 2 hybrid Yaris, 1 Aygo, 2 i3s (weekend availability). Then they got rid of the 2 Yaris and Aygo, and replaced them with 2 petrol MGs, and seemed to stop access to the i3s. And as of Dec 2023 there is only 1 car available to hire!

"Car not available and still charged. Never again."

I am extremely disappointed with Co-Wheels. After a lengthy three month process just to become registered with your service, my wife and I were hopeful that Co-Wheels would provide an alternative to owning a car. We booked a car for a specific block of time, arriving at the location pinpointed by your app's GPS. However, there was no car present.

Upon calling your helpline, which put on hold for a while, we were incredulously informed that we would have to locate and take the next closest available vehicle instead. As I'm sure you can understand, this is unacceptable for customers on any sort of schedule or timeline. Most people in my situation would at that point have to call a taxi, at great extra cost. And in fact after wasting precious minutes waiting on hold and searching in vain for your vehicle, that is exactly what I was forced to do. Then, adding insult to injury I was charged by co-wheels for a car we did not use, and then refused a refund.

As an advocate for reducing personal car ownership and the waste it entails, I am profoundly disappointed that your service utterly failed my very first test of its reliability. You simply cannot market Co-Wheels as a reasonable alternative if basic logistical incompetence will regularly undermine customer plans and force extra costs upon them. I will not be using this service again

"Very unreliable."

Very unreliable.
I booked a car to pick my family up from the airport on Christmas day. I made the booking quite a while ago to make sure that there would be a car available.
On December 6th I received an email saying that my booking is cancelled because of relocation of the vehicle, without offering any alternative. When I emailed customer service all I got for an answer was an apology for the inconvenience. I have no options now,as it is very late to search for a car on that day.
Please avoid as they can ruin your plans.

"I’ve used Co-wheels for a while now"

I’ve used Co-wheels for a while now. The customer service is fantastic. They helped me switch cars when I wasn’t confident with the model I selected with zero fuss. The staff are always so warm and friendly when you call up with a a concern and they always go out of their way to help me. Would highly recommend.

"Excellent Customer Experience Team"

I’ve been a Co-Wheels member for a few years and their customer support team is genuinely the reason I wouldn’t switch to another car club. No service is perfect, but anytime I’ve had a problem they have been so quick to respond, friendly, and always resolve the issue much faster than expected. Thanks for delivering such a consistently exceptional customer experience.

"Solid inner city service"

Relied heavily when moving out of my house in Bristol and they were super reliable with great customer service - any problems and I was through to someone pretty much immediately. Great service!

"Moving in the wrong direction"

Cowheels started out as good value for money and a better, more sustainable option for the environment. In the last year, they have increased the amount of petrol vehicles in my area and reduced the number of fully electric vehicles (Glasgow), reduced the variety of vehicle (there use to be more vans) and increased the prices per hour+started charging mileage. Overall the service is decent and when I've had issues staff have responded quickly but the ethos is moving in the wrong direction. Years ago they would send out feedback for users but now they don't even do that to take some of these concerns on board.

"Car had no battery"

I have only made 1 booking with this company on the 6 October. I arrived to find the car out of battery and unable to move. Called cowheels twice went through to Answer machine, third time finally got an answer. They offered me another vehicle 15 minutes away which was fine worked as it should. Now 25 days later they have contacted me to tell me that the charge card was not returned to the car and charged £20. The car was returned to charge when I returned it... I find it hard to believe that the far has not been used in 25 days... then again with service like this I guess its not that hard. Clearly just trying to rip people off.

"Brilliant service!"

I recent joined co wheels as my car had broken and was going to in the garage for a few weeks so I thought I had nothing to loose, and wow it has surpassed expectations! The customer care team is amazing and so helpful the cars are usually clean, what a brilliant idea!
