"An excellent scheme with great admin staff"

I've been using the car club for one year, and I've found it so useful. It's very reasonably priced, especially considering the insurance, breakdown cover and tax is included in the hourly rental fee. The small cars in my area are only £5 an hour! The petrol rate per mile is low and the petrol payment card system is practical.
On a few occasions I had to phone up the administrative office and they were always so helpful, including when I called them at 1 in the morning because I'd left a light on in the car and they had to unlock the doors for me to switch it off! It's a genius system that lets me occasionally use a car where I otherwise couldn't afford it.

Really good system if you don't need to use a car that often. I have been using over last 3 years and generally speaking it has been faultless. If you have any issues the chat response times really good if you have any issues.

"Misleading joining fee"

Very misleading on website, when signing up it did not tell me there was a £25 joining fee on any of the sign up pages, when I called them they did resolve quickly by refunding the money the same day, I then checked the website again and it was on there to say there was £25 to pay but it wasn't very clear on their homepage you had to look through other pages to find out about this suprise payment, it should be a lot more clearer when signing up for example before clicking submit it should say something like "you agree to a one off £25 being charged upon your account being verified" something like that, people like me just see the 20p a mile and sign up... had there of been no joining fee I would have stayed, it just wasn't clear and your customer service advisor said that she agreed it wasn't very clear either... 2 stars for this reason I'm afraid!

**updated review to 4 stars off the back of a call from customer services offering an apology and an offer to stay by waiving the joining fee, declined the offer as I just wanted this short term but I appreciated the call and I've changed it from 2 to 4 stars for this reason**

"Awful, completely avoid! They do not give you information about the car."

Awful, they do not store information about the cars. I have asked if the car had satnav as sometime ago I rented a car with them and did not have it, I thought it was one-off. I used my phone instead but it was dangerous as there was not holder or place to put the phone. I asked them this evening to check if the car I booked had satnav and they said they do not store that information. If they do not store that simple data! image what information they might miss like maintenance and safety!!

"Great choice of EVs, excellent call centre, sadly becoming more costly"

I like the choice of vehicles especially the EVs and the call centre is always very responsive and helpful. The increase in mileage rates is making rental more expensive now, especially if you use an ICE vehicle, but overall, it is a great service for me in Dundee. Going foreward it would be so helpful if there were one-way rentals available as well more availability at peak periods.

and co-wheels is the worst of all, shame to Britain to have such a low-class company,
my advice to them is to start being open-minded.

Co-wheels is really an excellent concept. One thing to look out for is the new zones - you need to use the app to find where the car is, when its parked in a "zone" rather than a marked bay, but the service is so useful, the cars in good condition and now almost entirely hybrid or electric. Staff can be easily contacted should you have any problems.

Be carefully as car club currently has a system error, they will try to charge for rates you have not used or that they have not charged within the time period. Fraud and extortion!! My account has now been terminated, blocked from all social platforms.
