Warranty Assist

"Absolutely WORTHLESS!!"
I had bought a KIA Optima PHEV from Car Planet in Watford for £ 12300 on March 15, 2023. At the same time was recommended to buy an extended warranty with Warranty Assist (Warranty No. 00432001 ) to have a piece of mind – BAD IDEA
Had trouble with the high voltage battery in June/July 2024. I had it checked with a garage near me – recommended by HEVRA ( Hybrid & Electric Vehicle repair Alliance). They found the fault with the battery and gave me an estimate to replace the whole battery (£ 8500 + VAT) . I contacted Warranty Assist for help. They asked me for a copy of the diagnosis and the estimate for repairs, which was submitted to them. For a reason known to them only, they asked me to have a diagnosis done by their garage on August 21, 2024, which cost me £ 130 in total. The diagnosis and estimate was the same to the one found by my garage.
On August 22 I telephoned and spoke to Ryan (12:48 hrs) who told me that the hybrid battery needed replacing and the decision on my claim had not been made. Upon asking the time scale of the decision team will take to make, I was rudely told that if I got of the line he would be able to fill in the paper work for the decision committee to make the decision. He asked me not to contact them until the following week.
I got the reply to the claim by the decision committee which read “Your Drive Battery: (hybrid) problem is not covered under your warranty because the part has not failed. As per the definitions section of your warranty, Breakdown means the sudden and unexpected failure of a component.” What is the purpose of buying the warranty if the unexpected failure of a component is not covered? To add insult to the injury they refused to reimburse me with the diagnostic performed by their own garage. The reply I got from them is “Diagnostic charges are only refunded if the claim is covered.” If they knew the claim was not covered then why did they have another diagnosis performed. I am still baffled that they have taken £ 1099.00 from me for this warranty that is absolutely worthless!!!

"Absolute scam - avoid at all cost did not pay out for claim."
F10 m5 engine bent two rods. Made claim for repair, as my claim covers sudden damage to internal components. They declined the claim making absolutely fake excuses. One excuse they used saying my car had a service gap of 11k and in their system it should be 8k. So I contacted bmw in writing who confirmed its 12-18k service intervals. I appealed they still declined the appeal, apparently their system is more accurate than bmw who made the engine. Another excuse they used because my car had aftermarket exhaust resenator for extra exhaust sound - absolutely laughable which had nothing to do with engine. Another excuse the engine repair bill exceeds vehicle current market value - then why you selling warranty for an engine you can’t afford to fix ?
I had to pick up a 12.5k bill of engine rebuild
I put this review before and trust pilot took it down for some dumb reason.
Do not purchase warranty for this company they’ll make random reason not to pay out. This is not just my saying even garages I’ve spoken to said the same thing 8/10 claims are declined for random reasons, or they’ll say it’s wear and tear etc. don’t waste your money on warranty covers just regularly service and maintain your car.
I’ve put warranty number, watch they’ll give the dump reply saying you didn’t put all your info so we don’t know if you’re a customer or not. Absolutely scam of a company

"Awful company avoid at all costs"
Awful company avoid at all costs!
Provided customers with warranty via warrantyassist. Any time you need assistance no one can help. Account manager will ignore you or give you false promises. They will do anything to try and get out of paying for any work.
They lack transparency and communication absolute waste of money and time using them. Dealers stay away!!

"Avoid at all costs."
Had a car under warranty with this tin pot company, purchased via Car Planet
The girl I spoke to on the first phone call opened up with "you've been driving it quite a bit". This set alarm bells ringing as I have driven it less than half the average annual mileage for a car pro rata.
A mechanic checked my car and said the knuckle holding the rear left wheel to the axle was severely worn and had probably not even been attached correctly last time it was worked on (which was before I bought it).
Claim denied. I have no idea whether there is any merit to the denial. Based on other reviews I doubt it.
The communication is appalling. No formalities, pleasantries or even a name. Perfunctory, one line emails which seem only vaguely related to the questions being put to them.
Parted with an insult to the staff member writing the moronic emails but before that was perfectly cordial despite their ineptitude.

"Gearbox barrings"
Gearbox barrings, Hyundia Tuscan 2018.
I purchased a second-hand Hyundai Tucson 2018 last year and decided to buy a £600 Gold warranty from Car Planet, hoping it would provide peace of mind in case of any issues. Unfortunately, my experience with Warranty Assist has been far from satisfactory.
Recently, the gearbox bearings on my vehicle failed. Despite having the warranty, I have been experiencing significant stress and hassle over the past eight weeks trying to get this issue resolved. To my dismay, my claim was denied on the grounds that I did not complete a gearbox service in March 2024. However, this requirement is not mentioned in the maintenance manual. I am certain that even if the car had been serviced, the vehicle would have failed due to wear and tear, and the company would still have found a way to not honour the warranty.
Additionally, my vehicle has only completed 52,000 miles. It is unreasonable to expect a vehicle of this age and mileage to have such a significant failure. The purpose of purchasing a warranty is to cover unexpected repairs, and it is clear that Warranty Assist is unwilling to honour this agreement.
I believe it would be more prudent for customers to save the £600 and use it towards repair costs directly, rather than dealing with the frustration and inconvenience of a warranty that does not provide the promised coverage.
My experience has left me with no faith in this company’s services. I have left my warranty number and would be interested to know what their response will be. I expect it will be something along the lines of, “I’m really sorry, but you didn’t have the gearbox serviced as per the T&Cs, so we cannot honour the claim.” Drivers, I’ll let you decide.
