Having now worked in sales I can recognise the underhand selling techniques the salesman used to get a small fortune from me. Got my first statement in and looking at the interest rates I am due to pay more than double what the windows cost. Check your finance agreement as it is probably more beneficial to get a settlement figure and arrange a bank loan. Very underhand selling techniques

The salesman Scott was polite and not pushy, we agreed what was required and placed our order there and then.
After an initial install day where the fitters were given the incorrect material for our roofline they returned today with everything required to carry out the work. Brian and Stephen carried out a speedy and tidy install and our roofline and gutters are already getting admiring glances from the neighbours. I would have no hesitation in recommending Penicuik for this type of home improvement.

"Yet another follow up to my previous posts."
Yet another follow up to my previous posts the last being on 7th February. To recap kitchen and bathroom window were faulty so had to be replaced and they were looked at on 31st Aug 18 and then in October by manager Tom Hannah who agreed that windows would have to be replaced.
Finally last Friday fitters arrived with 2 windows - kitchen window and a lounge window !! This clearly had been ordered but no bathroom window. Lounge window is very large and this is now the 4th one they have made.
I've phoned Penicuik who connected me to Job Worth Doing . Was promised a call Tuesday then Wednesday and after I called this morning have been told I would get a call today but I'm not holding my breath. This has now been going on for 10 months. Once they have been paid they have no interest. Customer services are a joke and I don't know how JWD Newhouse are still in business.
I am beyond frustrated now but they will not return a call!!
Also Penicuik don't seem convinced that we were offered compensation in November and person I spoke to at that time has left company. I suggested that they get into recorded conversation.

would have been 5 stars if only they had followed up the after care a bit sooner than they did as i had to make a 2nd phone call .

Excellent service. Fitters great, friendly and never stopped from the minute they arrived. Cleared up all the mess and took everything away. 10/10. Our fitters were Daniel and Dave.

"Salesperson fine, installation team messy"
Sales man that visited was fine and explained everything clearly. On installation of windows the amount of mess was unbelievable. I have had to redecorate and get my carpets cleaned as they were so badly damaged. Three months later and I am still chasing up this complaint!

We had the usual salesman rubbish but we not given any choice in the windows we ordered. When we asked about Georgian bars we were told they block out the light! next the manager came out to see us. He sat at our table and every time we tried to speak he answered his mobile. He didn't even apologise for taking the calls. He definitely didn't listen to us and said HE could do anything. It turned out he couldn't as we could not have a composite door. Next we waited and waited for the windows which eventually arrived. The fitter came and he was superb. The problem was the surveyor had measured every window incorrect so not one fitted. The fitter carried on in hail, snow and raid to get the windows in. Then we found that one window had the wrong opening. This was duly replaced but the new window has a scratch on the inside. The new door that was fitted is now falling apart! To top it all the cement that was knocked out around the windows still hasn't been replaced. We were told that they would come immediately and get this sorted. Well here we are a few months later and still the cement hasn't been replaced. There are flaming great holes around the windows. To top all this off we keep calling and being promised they will call us back however it never happens. Mind you sales constantly ring to say we have a £500 discount voucher sitting on our account. I wish I had used a local reliable company. The experience has been horrendous and there is still no end in sight

Although we were told the work wouldn't be done before Christmas we were delighted that it was carried out early and all finished two weeks before Christmas. We were very happy with the speed of the installation and the fitters cleaned up afterwards The only problem we found was that not all the windows were properly sealed On the plus side we had someone come back and finish the job when we complained
Further to the previous comment I have two further comments I have just had my window cleaner clean the windows and he has complained about the amount of silicone left on the windows. The second point is that I was given a leaflet stating I would be e-mailed a £10 Amazon voucher when I gave a review This hasn't happened

"fitters were the best thing of the whole experience"
guy came out, full of the usual seller patter, started off at 14 grand for 6 windows, oh yes ignore that yadda yadda, finally just over 8 grand. Went ahead, fitters came out, they were fine, courteous, and tidy and loved a roll n sausage or bacon !!, no worries. the after sales were just garbage. someone called Nicola on the phone was just ignorant, talked to my wife like dirt and accused us of lying when she mentioned things we should have been told, but were not and she said we were basically lying. The constant barrage of wanting payment, we withheld £1000 because one window was broken and the frame had a large screw sticking up through the ledge my wife caught her hand on. The saleman said oh yes you dont pay a penny till you are satisfied and there will be no after decorating needed at all. our plaster was broken in the kitchen, was plastered but WE have to redecorate. Payment was wanted from the fitters at job end, told them no. got repairs done after a week or so, then we paid. i fear anything happening as with other reviews on here, they are not famous for even being interested.
