Pencrook windows fitted our doors and windows told us alot of rubbish from start couldn't get out the front door the day after they fitted it , when I did get out the hinge fell off , all the sizes are wrong filled and covered with plastic , wrong windows fitted that dont lock , drafts everywhere and house is colder than it was before they tried to fit the new windows, glad they have went bust ,but they will start up again and con more people out of there money , will probably have to go to another company to sort there mistakes out as all the heats going out the windows and doors

15/03/2018 windows and door fitted over 5,000 spend fitter said we will return to replace glass as scratched and door glass will need to be replaced this will be done within 7to 14 days .
STILL WAITING SEVERAL PHONE CALLS LATER AND NOTHING MY WORRY IS THEY ARE GUARANTEED WHAT ARE YOU TO DO CANT BELIEVE THIS COMPANY MY NEXT STEP IS TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION

"We put down a deposit for replacement…"

We put down a deposit for replacement front porch in May and had excuse after excuse as to why, by October the work hadn’t started. We only found out this week after a phone call that they were in receivership and now find out that they actually ceased trading in September?! They have gone bust before and according to companies house only came into being in their current guise in 2017..... they will probably be resurrected again in a new guise....... avoid like the plague!

First, it was OK, the sales was OK. The guys installing it was OK apart from our installation date was changed and they did not tell their own men doing the installation. I only went to Penicuik because my friend had worked there at the time. He no longer works there now.

It was not until after few months down the line we noticed issues. We noticed drafts coming from several of the windows. We didn't notice before because it got warmer season-wise after installation. We did notice that our new back door was stiff but this was getting worse and we noticed that the door did not flush with its frame. It has now gotten to a point where I can't fully use my back door as I have issues unlocking it either from inside or outside the house and even got locked out of my house as well. Not exactly fun times.

I tried getting ahold of someone through their customer service line, was sent to their installation team but the call just rang out. I tried calling their customer service line again later that day and for the next 3 days and then the following Monday. Even during their office open hours, there were times when it went straight to their answer machine saying it was closed but their times said they were open. Very strange, even for the whole of a workday with multiple calls I still couldn't get through. I had tried using their online messaging service but that threw errors and also sent emails but had no response. When I finally got through to someone again on their customer service line after the weekend I was informed that the company was under administration and nothing they could do. I am very very disappointed by this company and how they treat their customers.

They seem to only care to get your money and run away with it.

I am now getting someone independent to fix my door and take a look at my windows.

Does this mean that their 10-year warranty is a load of hooie? We are now considering selling our house due to this company's shoddy work and a severe lack of customer care that has been causing us stress which we did not need.

Please do not go to Penicuik for your Windows and Doors unless you are happy to throw your money away.

I still have concrete blocks on my out side of my windows which was supposed to be removed so I had flush windows sills outside
My front door letter box fell of ...
since April I’ve been calling trying to get this fixed but never no reply or I get fobbed of with a manager who return my call but of course never does.
I am a very unhappy customer would not recommend this company to anyone I’m in the process of taking legal action.

"Shambolic"

Shambolic! We placed an order for windows through penicuik but decided to cancel. We got told when sales manager Alan was in our home we had 30 days to cancel but turned out it was only 7 days! We cancelled within the 7 days anyways and they tried to keep £200 of the £400 we had paid as a surveyor had been out to measure the windows did not get told that by the sales man! But we argued and they agreed to the full refund but told us would take 2-3 weeks. So that time passed i called to be told that the company had went bust and i would need to try get my money back from the bank! Since trying to contact them the number has been deactivated and we have no way of contacting these people! Utter disgrace! they probably knew they where going bust and withheld our money!! Cant understand how this company can keep going bust and screwing people as by the looks of the reviews its no the first time!

The sales person was very friendly and polite however that’s where the friendly service ended. The fitters hardly said a word and left hand prints all up my newly painted walls and I’m still waiting for a plasterer to repair outside damage 1 month after the windows were fitted. One of the windows had been made incorrectly and therefore had to be re-fitted on another date. I have explained all this to the head office but they just put you through to a different company who fit the windows and don’t seem all that bothered.

No stars for this company as it has now gone bust!!! Trying to get my money back. Always pay on a credit card as at least some hope of money back. Disgusting shower of con artists as already described.

"Ceased Trading Fraudster Derek"

On Monday the 30th of September at 17:30 we had a sales team member Derek come to our house to give us a quotes on 7 windows . We agreed a figure that night. On Wednesday After speaking with a family friend about the price agreed we had realised that we were over paying by a large amount. We tried to contact Penicuik on Wednesday but were unable to get hold of anyone We then contacted the Finance company and cancelled the agreement through them. On the Wednesday night we received a call from Derek asking if he could come back and visit us on Thursday night at 18:30 as he realised he might be able to give us a better deal than originally given. I finally got hold of a Penicuik customer service advisor on Thursday morning who inform that as of Monday 30th Penicuik have ceased trading and advised speaking with my credit card company to get a refund on my deposit(The Customer Service Team were very helpful). This company has ceased trading as of Monday 30th of September yet Derek has arrived to my property on Monday evening and sold me windows from a company that has ceased trading and then contacted me again to try give me a better deal on the Thursday this man is a crook of the highest level.
