"Nothing short of abysmal."

My partner and I were looking at purchasing new windows for our home back in August this year, the company sent out a salesman called Graeme if I remember correctly, baldy chap. The man was a total shyster, and that's me putting it very lightly. He quoted us over £6000 for three new windows which is beyond laughable, but he kept using aggressive sales tactics, and definitely took advantage of the fact that myself and my partner had recently become new parents. He bullied his way into getting us to purchase one window instead of three, he also failed to mention a £299 admin fee, he assured us this was to pay for a Surveyor, nothing about an admin fee. He could not wait to get out of our house quick enough after we had signed the contract.

Thankfully for us, we came to our senses and cancelled the order the next day.

Then we ran into more problems, I was assured I would get my full £299 back as I had cancelled within the 7 day cooling off period. We cancelled this order on the 20th of August, after countless phone calls of them assuring me the refund had been processed, I knew something was off.

I phoned up again yesterday, and they proceeded to tell me the company was being sold and that I couldn't get my money back from them, that I had to contact my bank regarding the matter!

Thankfully I contacted my bank, and they have been able to get the money back through debit card disputes.

So if they are telling you the same as me, get on the phone to your bank straight away, debit card or credit card disputes departments.

Without question, the worst experience I have ever had financially, total amateur hour of a company.

"Windows order ref - U 010298"

Don’t use penicuik I repeat stay clear.

After our initial complaint was finally resolved regarding contracts & then signing us up to 2 different finance agreement without disclosing this on top of there terrible customer service.

We finally agreed installation on the 29/7/19 as I write this today on the 02/10/19 we are still waiting on complaint being resolved.

Day of install they forgot the window handles for the 4 windows being fitted then leave the house in a mess & when I inspect the windows after they had run off. All 4 outside rosewood frames had scratches on them. These get filled in next day after I complain to There compliance department. Then we noticed back window in living room has a crack in it & a scratch also & the pvc has dents & scratches all around it. Another complaint to compliance who arranges for the installation manger & an engineer to attend my property. The installation manager. Visited my property finally inspected all windows after I had to prompt him he confirmed scratches on windows & frames inside & crack in the glass all to be replaced . He advised windows in kitchen & bathroom not fitted correctly both had to be lifted & I pointed out to him both bathroom & kitchen windows not fitted with restrictive locks as we where advised by the salesman. Basically once you open these windows they have no safety or security as just keep on opening without being restricted. He said they never fit they windows with those locks. Anyway all that was replaced/ rectified on the 02/09/19. I notified Compliance the poor workmanship from installation on 29/7/19 has finally been rectified & we are looking for compensation compliance advised they have passed our complaint with all our pictures of these issues to the operations director on the 2/9/19 & once they have an update they will update us. And guess what still waiting on update our last 5 emails have been ignored by both compliance director and operations director outstanding customer service penicuik provides NOT!!!!.

Anyway I have yesterday reported this company to trading standards as an official complaint & they advised to open complaint with the finance company as well as they are liable for penicuik supply of goods not up to standard as per the consumer act 2015.

Once again stay clear of penicuik don’t use them

Also penicuik reporting this post because I named the directors & compliance handler. Rather than trying to resolve a customer issue they try to protect the ones not doing there job

"Penicuik offered a 'hassle free'…"

Penicuik offered a 'hassle free' service. I've had nothing but hassle. Sales man 'Derek' (I noticed his name has been mentioned before in other negative reviews)) obviously didn't have his facts right when he visited us. I chose a front door, from a very limited selection, only to be informed by guy who did measuring that I couldn"t have my choice due to Health and Safety regulations. After much deliberation and many phone calls etc a solution was agreed, or so I thought. The new front door was the thing I was most looking forward to seeing. But now, it is the thing hate most. And it seems that Penicuik is just a name now used by a Franchise of other companies. And in fact Jobs Worth Doing are the people I have ended up having to deal with.
Five windows, front and back doors came to nearly £8,000, I've discovered is very much over the odds .
Oh, and btw, their letter boxes aren't really meant for postman to deliver anymore than one letter at a time or letter box falls apart !! I still have at least another 5 windows needing doing and I certainly will not be using this company again. I would advice anyone needing new windows to avoid at all costs.
I hate the sound of this companies name and will ensure that all my friends and family are aware of this. Social media will be helpful in getting the word out there.

"Absolute joke of a company"

Absolute joke of a company! I have been waiting on a refund since the 30th of August. Have tried phoning multiple times and was assured it would be in my bank on the 24th of September, then it changed to 26th of September ... then it changed to leaving their bank account on 26th September and apparently takes a few days to reach mine! Tried phoning on the 30th of September and nobody could get hold of the finance department so phoned later in the day and was promised a manager would phone me back which never happened. Tried phoning on October 1st and sat on hold for 30 minutes only for someone to answer and hang up instantly! Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Everyone I have spoke to has been full of empty promises whether it was Glen the sales rep, his manager Steven, John brown who is supposed to be about customer service, or Leanne and Natalie in the office who can’t seem to find managers or a finance department! When will I receive my refund?

"Terrible company from start to finish - fraud"

Terrible company from start to finish, with fraudulent activity.

Ordered a bay window at a cost of £4000, paid deposit. Six months later (keeping in mind installation was meant to be after 8 weeks!) the company said they couldn't manufacture the window at the size they had quoted and offered an inadequate alternative solution. So we cancelled the order, as they couldn't do it. They emailed us to say our whole deposit would be paid back within 30 days.

So far it's been over 60 days, they are not answering emails, hanging up on telephone calls (four times today already). We are owned over £700.

This is FRAUD. Never ever deal with them, worst company ever. Check other reviews.

"Hell no!"

Would absolutely never give my money to this company.
Sales guy came out was here for 1hr and 30mins which was a bit unnecessary but to be fair he was nice enough and just doing his job.
The real issue was derek the sales manager. Pushy, arrogant and just an all round pathetic excuse for a man.
My partner was informed i legally had to be there before any decision was made on going ahead with the purchase. Completely false!
When my partner told Derek he wasn't getting an answer that day Derek then proceeded to assume we somehow couldn't afford his 'luxury windows' . Literally used those words. The height of arrogance from Derek and so unprofessional. Under no circumstance would i ever hand over my money to anyone like Derek. If this is how unprofessional the sales manager is then I would absolutely not put my faith in them to put windows in my home.
Avoid this company and spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Oh thats if you can afford to of course. Lol!
