great service start to finish from the sales rep visit and no pressure, surveyor visit was good and the fact they came and tested for asbestos etc was good . The two fitters were very nice and pleasant and very professional. They worked hard and got the job done to a very high standard and we couldnt be happier

We had windows and doors replaced, the guys were really great very helpful , and any problems solved no question was a problem,we would defiantly recommend penicuik to friends and family and give them the installers name which was Brian Bennett.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! YOU WILL LOSE YOUR GUARANTEE... My elderly parents paid thousands for previous work carried out by this company previous to August 17 before the company went into liquidation. They are now back up and running after changing their name to Clearwin Ltd t/a Penicuik Home improvements with one of the same Directors BUT all our work has no guarantee. They keep phoning on a monthly basis asking do they want more work as they still have my details on their system even though Insist they have only bought the company name ! GDPR doesn’t allow this which I have pointed out to them. Trying to get answers regarding our guarantee and getting nowhere as they don’t care they have our money! UPDATE- I have not heard a thing from customer care since this review although I have emailed on two
occasions !! ANOTHER UPDATE- still no response from customer care regarding the above, although I did receive a private message which only said ‘enjoy’ !!!! Shocking behaviour taking money from
OAP’s for a guarantee which they have never honoured, should be on rouge traders!

An efficient job from surveyors and installers. One complaint rapidly rectified without question or evasion. Sales staff appear to use a well rehearsed script that could benefit from pruning.

This started with a knock on the door by a young lady allegedly her first day, my partner took pity on her and subsequently we had a four hour sales pitch starting at £22,000 and finishing at £8,800 we declined.
A sales manager then attended and we settled on a price £6,601 which included the "ADMINISTRATION FEE". At this time we understood the job to take one day using two teams, although the installation team attempted to get a second crew. Didn't happen, we like others reporting here, found the installation team excellent that's why we fed them, we cannot say the same for the Aberdeen installation manager, who seems to think that being arrogant and forceful is a good way to treat customers.
As the job took two days, one being a Friday, noting we had already cancelled a Friday installation. Due to having to cancel obligations on the friday we retained £200.00 as compensation for the hastle and inconvenience.
The Aberdeen installation manager's response several weeks later was as follows. We have snagging elements mostly minor, having agreed on the 7th of August 2019 to undertake the replacement of some items. Within twenty minutes the same day, the manager declared he would not undertake the snagging, as there was no warranty or guarantee in respect of the products and work undertaken at our house, due to our retention of the £200.00.
We note our email of the 11th of July whilst works were ongoing advising that this was the action we were taking, noting no response, similar to the no response we have had to phone calls and further emails.
As a construction claims lawyer, I am somewhat underwhelmed by this, and have advised company to note the provisions of the CONSUMER PROTECTION ACT 2015, as well as other legislation they are in breach off, no response, as yet, I have offered to forward the sections and other legislation they are in breach off.

"Caught in a trap."
I invited them to discuss a price we could agree on, which we did, as far as I was concerned that was the price. However, next to the agreed price,of which had never been any mention, or discussion, was "Administration Fee" £349, as far as I was concerned that was inclusive in the agreed price. It was not until I went to get cash to pay for the work I saw that it was on top of the agreed price. I was going to cancel the deal until I saw that the 14 day period was up and could not cancel. So BEWARE of being caught that trap. However the contractors work was good enough,although 6 days late.

"Very informative sales team"
Very informative sales team. Only issue we had was when window booking date, staff never mentioned the rooms had to be completely cleared, due to the amount of dust create only told to remove blinds, curtains and give access to Windows. But window fitters were great came up with another plan, to reduce mess. Installation was fantastic, very happy with the new Windows and door. Would definitely recommend.
