"Penicuik. Terrible service!"
Penicuik? Penicrook! Absolute shambles of a company. Apauling service. I have never known anything like it.
We placed an order, and were assured of a delivery timescale, which has not been met. Multiple contacts have been attempted and the responses are either copy and paste jobs of terms and conditions, or they are ignored altogether. Numerous calls and emails to a manager in cancellations have been fruitless. All they keep saying is we were out of our cancellation window, so their legal team will chase us for 80 per cent of the cost of the item if we cancel, despite ALL their multiple failures. Threatening us with legal action, eith no communication as to when we can expect installation. Avoid at all costs.

Having requested a quote I was told a salesperson would only be at the house for 45 minutes. On the evening of the appointment, she was there for two and a half hours using what I can only say were forceful sales techniques! At the time my husband thought it a good idea to get two of the 4 windows done and we paid a fee of £349 to get a surveyor out to measure the windows properly. We discussed it further after she left, and we decided to cancel and I did so first thing the next morning. I mentioned getting the £349 refunded and the Customer Advisor said she would do that as soon as the information was on the system. This was the 10/1/19.
Move forward to 14/1/19 when I called again to check about the refund and was told only then the refund would be put through. At the time I was told it would be 21 days for the refund to go through. Ridiculous in itself as they managed to take my money within minutes on the night.
I then call on the 21st day as no refund has been received and get told its 21 'working' days. Not happy with this and say that to her but she's disinterested.
I have now called this morning 12/2/19 (21 'working' days were up yesterday), to be told it will be in my account by the end of this week. NOT HAPPY!!
They have basically stolen my money and not given it back. I will keep checking this week but if the money is not in my account, I will be heading to Trading Standards. I have received no service for the money they have taken.
I have also received a call from the 'manufacturer' saying they had seen our order and how much Penicuik wanted to charge and that it was cancelled and that they could do a better deal for us?? What happened to Data Protection? My order was cancelled within hours and could never have been sent to a manufacturer as the windows were never measured properly..... How can my details be passed to a third party without my consent.
So in conclusion, do not use Penicuik!!
Update Friday 15/2/19 - no refund received. Now being told 21-30 days. Can’t hold to speak to a manager and when ask for a call back told it would be in 2-3 working days!
Penicuik - I would like someone to call me today and for my refund to be credited today too or I am going to Trading Standards and the papers and anyone else who will listen to me about the refund but also about your breach of data protection!!

Happy with the windows that got installed, we were never shown and example of pvc windowsills. When it arrived it was very soft, you could leave a scratch on the surface by just running your nail pressed against it. We ended up keeping our old timber. For expensive product we expected higher quality overall.
