"Bad company"

Bad company: lying about stock:

Ordered back in November, a delivery date of 18-19th December was advertised (they guaranteed delivery before Christmas with a post on their Facebook page).

No notification of dispatch so contacted them on the 16th of December to be told there is a problem with stock (great, plenty of time to source another before Christmas, NOT, and obviously the cost will not be an instant refund either.)

These cannot be trusted when it matters, bad business model to accept orders/money without being certain they can actually fulfill the order.

You should be ashamed of yourselves.

"Fantastic tricycle"

Fantastic tricycle, I love it so much, the quality is amazing, so much lighter than the cheaper heavy steel ones on the market, I will admit I purchased one of the cheap ones and it was a nightmare rust bucket after only a couple of days.

"A load of rubbish and not even worth £1.00 or one star."

When the trike arrived, all parts were included, and the trike was built without any problems. I had problems with indexing the gears, so I took it first to a trike store, as the very sparse and vague instructions on PDF and an A5 leaflet were not clear. The shop refused to look at the trike because it was bought online and was told it would be difficult to find any shop that would want to look at it without paying “top dollar” A catch 22 scam right here.
I found that my local Halfords trike shop would service the gears and they did. This is the first trike I have ever owned because I have balance problems and unable to use a two-wheeled trike. From the first day of riding, the chain has repeatedly fallen off the chainring when I’m on the road, pavement, even in the middle of junctions! These tricycles, from my riding, are an absolute health hazard.
I had taken it back to Halfords who could not advise any further about the chain as unless I know what’s wrong with this piece of crap in the first place, they wouldn’t know what to do in order to remedy the problem. After online research I had found that a ‘chain guard’ was a viable solution. I had spent in excess of £60.00 to buy the (cheapest) parts and tools necessary to attach this part…and the trike’s chain is still falling off. This is not a trike, it’s not even bike or human worthy.
BuyTricycle’s terms and conditions about delivery:
“the buyer cannot claim a refund or request a return as faulty on any aspect of the build. The buyer would be responsible for postage costs to return the item on any change of minds.”
BuyTricycle’s terms and conditions about delivery:
“Within the warranty, we will supply the new parts and where appropriate advice on fixing. Defective parts must be returned to us for inspection at the buyers cost, the customer is then liable to collect the product themselves or pay shipping costs.”
“Warranty is void if repair work is carried out by a 3rd party without BuyTricycle being given the opportunity to rectify first.”
So basically, if you follow Buytricycle’s advice to have it professionally built and serviced, they’ll wash their hands of you so there’s no repairs, returns or refunds, unless you want to spend “top dollar” in postage costs to return any or all of this crap of a trike to them. How on earth can a byer allow BuyTricycle ‘to rectify first’ if their instructions tell you to take it elsewhere to be built and serviced?
I brought this trike to commute to work and have lost at least three days of working because of this fault/malfunction that BuyTricycle clearly do not want to concern themselves with. BuyTricycle also leave a helpful note in the warranty:
“NOTE: We reserve the right to determine what damage is due to defective materials and what is due to product abuse or misuse.”
So if there is any fault, BuyTricycle have the perfect right to accuse you or a third party professional of creating the fault yourself so they don’t have to do a damn thing to help you, after paying them this extortionate amount of money. They could easily claim that I mis-used the trike for attempting to add a chainguard to repair their fault.
Oh I forgot to mention, when Halfords serviced the gears (which means BuyTricyle has washed their hands of me as a customer as I followed their recommendation to have the trike serviced) they had informed me that the gear shifter is sticky and would cause ‘jumps’ in the gear shifting process, yet the chain only falls off when pedalling in any of the six gears, not during shifting. Clearly the gear shifter and/or the crankset is not suitable at all for this type of trike. I had also tried shortening the chain, adjusting the derailleur and barrel screw, even pedalling cautiously, yet this problem persists.
So to recap: I am £360.00+ out of pocket, even though this trike cost £300.00 and still cannot commute to work, and BuyTricycle have clearly made it impossible t be held liable for faults/malfunctions on their part. Buyers avoid.

"Excellent help to buy a tricycle"

We recently bought a tricycle for my mum and the service we received from Buytricycle was excellent. They are very knowledgeable, they
offer friendly advice and make the whole process very easy with plenty of after sales support. If you telephone them and leave a message or send an e mail, they
do reply and they care very
much about their customers. Their parcel tracking is extremely helpful and their after sales service has been second to none. Would definitely use them again and highly
recommend them.

"I would not recommend this company…"

I would not recommend this company after the experince I encountered, I'm disabled and decided to go from a two wheel electric bike to a Scout electric trike, ordered the bike Monday was told it would arrive at bike shop Friday for assemble, shop rings me not arrived, emailed to say this oh it'll arrive Saturday we couldnt get it shipped in time, questioned it was oredered 5 days ago. Tried tracking the parcel Parcelforce refused to pick it up as was damaged, again emailed company as phones i was told not working, told it must be an error on parcelforce paperwork.Arrived shop Sat, they rang me to say it WAS damaged big hole in box.6 days later no basket, rang company oh comes 3 days after bike, so reminded them its 6 days now. Again no customer service re delivery if bike or basket where abouts.
Totally unimpressed after all this.
