"Really friendly train crew"

Really friendly train crew, they made it all work out even though our booking wasn't quite correct (I had booked one whole cabin but only for one person and there were 5 of us, but they got us more bed linen and pillows as needed). We had a great time :)

"Delays and expensive.. "

I was informed by SMS only 4 h before my departure that my train will not bring me to Prague, but will stopped in Berlin. I had to buy myself an extra ticket DB between Berlin and Prague which cost me a lot more that what you said you will reumburse. I arrive at destination with me than 2 hours delay, a lot of extra stress and Ă  much higher prise. On the Wayne back my train arrive at destination but still with 2 hours delay.
Service on board in the sleeping coaches is minimale (no water in the bathroom, toilets are not working).

"Met 3 tieners en 2 volwassene naar Praag"

Met 3 tieners en 2 volwassenen de nachttrein naar Praag genomen. Zowel heen als terug netjes optijd, vriendelijk personeel en alles goed verzorgd.
Natuurlijk zijn de slaapbanken geen boxspring bedden, maar dat kun je van te voren weten. Wij hebben prima geslapen en kwamen uitgerust op onze bestemming aan.

"Prenez ce train si vous n’avez rien à faire aprùs !"

Au moment oĂč j’écris ce texte je suis en litige avec eux et pense demander l’intĂ©gralitĂ© de ce que j’ai payĂ© !
11 fĂ©vrier direction Prague, le train part Ă  l’heure, mais il arrive avec 1h30 de retard. J’avais une correspondance 15 min aprĂšs la vraie heure qui avait Ă©tĂ© dĂ©terminĂ©e sur mon billet, mais je laisse passer en me disant que j’aurais dĂ» prendre une correspondance 1h aprĂšs ! Donc ok c’est pour ma pomme.
Pour le retour je me prépare en prenant un correspondance 2h aprÚs !
Jeudi 13 fĂ©vrier retour Ă  Bruxelles : 3h de retard ! ! Je rate ma correspondance 150€ perdus! Je dois en catastrophe acheter un autre billet de train pour Paris 180€!!
Donc lĂ  je demande Ă  ĂȘtre remboursĂ©e Ă  Europeean sleeper. La dame me dit qu’il n’y a pas eu de retard sur le premier train 😒 . Ma colĂšre monte. Finalement aprĂšs des Ă©changes d’emails ils me disent qui me remboursent 25% de la somme pour le premier train et 50% pour le deuxiĂšme. Sur l’émail je pensais avoir lu entre 8 et 10 JOURS! Sauf que c’est entre 8 et 10 SEMAINES ?!!!! Non ça je n’accepte pas . Donc j’ai envoyĂ© un email aujourd’hui pour que la somme revienne rapidement. Si vous n’avez aucun impĂ©ratif ce train fait l’affaire sinon prenez des plus sĂ©rieux. En ce qui me concerne c’était la premiĂšre et la derniĂšre fois!

"Expérience mitigée "

J'avais rĂ©servĂ© mes billets pour le train inaugural European Sleeper Bruxelles-Venise du mercredi 5 fĂ©vrier 2025 dĂšs le 25 septembre 2024. J' avais pris des couchettes basses. 5 jours avant le dĂ©part, je reçois un mail d' ES qui me change de places sans aucune concertation, de maniĂšre unilatĂ©rale et me positionne en couchettes hautes. Je demande Ă  rectifier mais c'est compliquĂ©. Le lundi, soit 2 jours avant le dĂ©part, je reçois un mail d'ES qui nous dit que le train n' ira pas jusque Venise mais VĂ©rone et qu' il faudra prendre un "RĂ©gional Veloce" italien jusque Venise. On me donne des nouveaux numĂ©ros de couchettes mais je ne sais pas si elles sont en haut ou en bas. Je fais un mail pour le leur demander. Le mardi, le service clients d'ES m' envoie un mail pour me dire qu' ils font le maximum pour me remettre en couchettes basses et que mon interlocutrice va me faire une rĂ©ponse Ă  ce sujet. Aucune rĂ©ponse si ce n'est que je reçois un mail d' ES m' incitant Ă  devenir actionnaire en achetant des obligations qui rapportent 10% !!! Ce n'est pas tout Ă  fait le mail que j'attendais Le mercredi, une demi-heure avant le dĂ©part sur le quai, j'apprends que le train s' arrĂȘtera Ă  Innsbruck et que le reste du trajet se fera d' Insbruck Ă  VĂ©rone avec un IC d 'OBB puis un autre changement de VĂ©rone Ă  Venise. Un peu dĂ©pitĂ© Ă  vrai dire. Certes, ES l' a appris le mardi matin mais pourquoi ne pas nous avoir prĂ©venus plus tĂŽt ? Toujours pas de rĂ©ponse au sujet de la couchette. Je monte donc en voiture 2 place 21 ( stipulĂ©e sur le dernier mail du lundi soir) mais le wagon est frigorifiĂ©, et pour cause, le chauffage est en panne. Donc, tous les voyageurs de la voiture 2 sont transfĂ©rĂ©s en voiture 1 MalgrĂ© tous ces dĂ©sagrĂ©ments, il faut garder le sourire. Grand promoteur du retour des trains de nuit, je ne peux que saluer le projet d'ES qui a dĂ» ĂȘtre dĂ©sarçonnĂ© par cette dĂ©cision que le train ne pouvait pas circuler en Italie. Alors soyons indulgents, ce sont les alĂ©as su voyage. Il faut noter que le personnel Ă  bord est trĂšs sympathique et serviable malgrĂ© les difficultĂ©s...

"A comfortable and enjoyable experience "

A comfortable, cozy and affordable way to travel. The atmosphere on board is friendly, so is the staff, and although there isn’t much on board in terms of luxury or entertainment, the beds are decent enough and as long as you have ear buds, you’ll sleep like a baby.

Traveled from Berlin to Amsterdam, perfect distance and duration. Traveling by day is kind of exhausting but for the first time I actually arrived energized, ready to start the day.

Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys traveling and doesn’t need luxury to have a pleasant time. Will look for European Sleeper connections for any trip I make within Europe from now on.

I had a good experience with the European Sleeper company. Despite getting a bit nervous before boarding - we were told a few days before departure we would have to switch trains because the Italian authorities were not cooperative in allowing the sleeper train into the country - the ES team more than made up for it by being professional and present throughout the journey. Even though this train change did delay the journey, we still made it at the new expected time they had foreseen, and there were no new surprises.
The couchettes are relatively comfortable (as you’d expect for a sleeper train), the linen provided was clean and the toilets worked and were within easy reach. It’s true that the bunks are quite short, so if you are above 1.80 M, I’d say sleeping will be complicated with your legs straight.
My only critique is the price. I booked ages in advance for my Breda-Venice trip with my partner, and spent close to 600€ overall (mind you not for a private compartment - one shared with three other people). This seems very high to me, and all the more so when I spoke to other passengers who had only spent 50€ by purchasing a few days before. So maybe some clarity on when to purchase tickets for the best deal would be appreciated 😅
Overall, it was truly wonderful to experience “slow travel” again - the view of the snowy Austrian alps in the morning was priceless - and I can say that thanks to ES, I’m a convert, and will be traveling by night train again - I just hope for a better price !
