"Received hearing aids January 2020 &…"

Received hearing aids January 2020 & used with Strive app on my phone Happy until you updated & my phone was no longer compatible Now I have to adjust hearing aids manually or invest hundreds of dollars for a new phone. Not in my budget therefore VERY unhappy.

"I have a high tone hearing loss"

I have a high tone hearing loss, (an 8000hz tone in my head at 90 db) hearing aids were something that weren’t available for me until relatively recently…( in the last 20 years or so. My first experience with Starkey was to overcome this and help me understand speech clearly for the first time in m life. I struggled with this since I was 2 years old, I am now in my 60’s and on my 2nd pair of Starkey hearing aids… I can’t manage without them…They have been very reliable and only needed factory service once or twice the entire time I have had them ( the first set was 10 years old and still functional when I replaced them) very satisfied with the quality and longevity of your products .

"I think the Starkey technology w/Thrive…"

I think the Starkey technology w/Thrive App, is too complex. It is worse than learning a new iPhone. Notifications and hearing aid connect is very confusing. Need less automation and more manual selection/adjustments

Starkey reply does not say the name of the App … ugh 😩 I downloaded My Starkey App and it cannot find my hearing aid … ugh! No documentation… double ugh. Probably have to delete Thrive App to make it connect to My Starkey. But, if that does not work I will have reinstall the Thrive App. I could spend the day on this when a simple Starkey provided instruction manual could facilitate the transition/install.

"Ear comfort It took a while to get used to the feel…"

It took a while to get used to the feel of all in the ear but the difference is great. I wish however I could stream from the streamer that just won't work for some reason.

"not quite doing the job"

I was advised they may help with my Tinnitus but unfortuneately they havent and the restaurant setting also does little. otherwise they are good

"I have loved my internal hearing aids…HOWEVER"

I have loved my internal hearing aids and they have hugely improved my hearing and communication abilities.
However, they are well over 10yrs old and I am retired and cannot afford new ones.
My local agent is not able to successfully adjust the settings. The last attempt at programming left me with a loss of functionality features. I need in particular speech clarity when in groups and meetings.
I have been told my.hearing aids are too old.
Sadly I have no alternative options with Starkey. I will have to live with my hearing disability or try and source an alternative cheaper product

"Avoiding hearing loss induced mental fog"

The ability to continue to participate in family, life, and day to day interactions at a reasonable level.
Most importantly, I am not fading into a brain fog like my father did because of the mental isolation, which occurs when you can’t hear events around you and participate in conversation and basic intellectual interchange.

I have times when my aids do not pickup the sounds around me. Then there are other time when they pickup all the background noises.

"My main problem is they’re have a mind of there own. Their rather big & not very comfortable & make their own adjustments."

My main problem is they’re constantly changing. Every time I get them set the best for my hearing, in just a matter of minutes they make changes. They have a mind of their own!! I assume they’re supposed to be helping by adjusting to the surroundings as they think you want it to sound, but they don’t know how I need it !! They make Just far too many adjustments on their own!!
I have worn Starkey for approx 20 years, & have always been very pleased! Once they were adjusted properly, there was no problems!
Not with this pair!
I’m being honest about my experience. I rarely wear them. Most of the time I ware my previous Rextone. The aren’t the best but I don’t have near the problems!
