"Do not try ear moulds for this so called professional company!"

Do not try ear moulds for these people!

Last year I had 4 months of back and forth because they change the colour, put the wrong tube in, put the wrong vents in. Sort one problem out and they add another problem. For example, right colour but wrong vent. Next time, right vent but then wrong tubing.

This year, it’s now 10 weeks later and I’m still yet to received the right ear moulds because yet again, you add things to the ear moulds that aren’t needed and do not follow instructions.

Such a nightmare!

4 months last year of no hearing and going on 10 weeks this year of no hearing!

I’m shocked that Starkey do not believe my Review. I even emailed them yesterday and they refused to help me and told me to go back to Boots!

EDIT -
I did actually receive 2 x ear moulds today but despite being from the same serial number as my last set of ear moulds, they don’t fit, you’ve put thick wall tubing in, instead of medium size tubing and one is of a rough material and one is a smooth material despite being made together!

Makes no sense how I’m having the same issue as last year!

Had Starkey ear moulds since 2011 so I’m unsure why it’s got so bad now!

"Starkey Aids Shell Fragility"

My Livio AI in the ear aids work very well. I am happy with them. My beef is that they are made from a very brittle form of plastic so the shells break open if they fall onto a tiled floor. My l/h aid was not a secure fit and fell out 3 times before breaking. This was fixed by my supplier foc; (thank you), then the r/h aid fell off my desk 30 inches once onto hard tiles and shattered, this repair I paid for £150. They are just not strong enough. They need to be made from tougher material Carbon Fibre maybe?

"Do not buy Starkey hearing aids"

I purchased the Starkey Livio AI 2400 hearing aids for $7500.00. They are supposed to be the state of the art technology. I have had them for 2 1/2 years, and had to have them repaired 3 times because the product failed. The warranty was for 2 years and I had to fight very hard to get the 3rd repair done for free. When they agreed to the complimentary repair, I was told by my provider that they will only repair 1 hearing aid. One week after my repaired hearing aid was returned, the other one failed with the same exact problem. I told my provider and they said I would have to pay to have this one serviced. The cost to me would be $300 to $350 to service the one hearing aid. This is a lot of money to pay especially since the repair does not last more than 6 months. Because of this, I would never buy another Starkey product.
I have gone to another provider to buy a new pair of hearing aids at a much more reasonable cost.

"Some improvements & differences from my previous hearing aids"

The edge mode is very nice & I’ve been using it. I also love the recharging battery, which is different than my previous hearing aid.

Although making adjustments through the iPhone is very convenient on this model, I miss being able to adjust the sound UP & DOWN (2 buttons on the ear piece, instead of one.). It now has to go through all of the settings every time I need to adjust the sound, instead of just hitting either button.

"Starkey did attempt to resolve issues"

I will never return to Uhring's Hearing and Balance, and I will never buy Starkey brand again. This is why.
1.One of the selling points was blue tooth. When I returned and complained that I couldn't connect, I was told, "Oh that's only on Apple"!
2.With later use I discovered the protruding function button on the ITE aid snags on headphones, bicycle or motorcycle helmet, even on a hat, changing the setting or pulling the aid out of my ear. No response was given to that complaint.
3.When I complained that S sounds come through as hsssss, after an adjustment I was told, "You'll get used to it."
After several weeks of trying to get used to the annoying hiss, I discovered also that the sound quality was so bad I couldn't identify who was talking to me when my back was turned. This after 3 return visits for adjustments. I was told any more visits would be an extra charge.
Finally I paid out-of-pocket (elsewhere) to replace a lost, old hearing aid of another brand and have been happily using same ever since. The original cost was 1/2 the $5000 my insurance paid for the Starkey pieces of junk that now set on a dusty shelf. I will never return to Uhring's Hearing and Balance, and I will never buy Starkey brand again.

I do appreciate the response from Starkey, giving me a telephone number to call. The representatives were very polite and informative in trying to resolve my issues.

"I have had nothing but problems with my…"

I have had nothing but problems with my Starkey hearing aids. The right one has been serviced three times, and I just had to take the left one in. I would not recommend. Seems they are out of service more than I can use them.
