Starkey Hearing Aids

"I have had my Starkey Livio AI for 4 yrs"
I have had my Starkey Livio AI for 4 years, paid $7,000 for the pair of them. I was looking for quality of sound due to a passion of mine that would replicate those tones. These hearing aids perform well…when they are working. I had them 1 month when they were sent in for repair. They have now been sent back to the manufacturer 5 times. I am lucky to get one year out of them before repair is needed. Plus since they are out of warranty, I pay around $500 a year for insurance.
I put them in the charger and then one will not work. Test them via the phone app and one or both will not respond after being charged. I wait about 2 weeks and when it keeps happening I take them into the local dealer. Of course, they fiddle or clean then and they start working again. I get them home, a few days later starts all over again. So take them back to the dealer and have to rant with them to understand it’s intermittent, so because they worked for you once, does not mean all is well. I waste weeks going without these and begging for help. It is not the dealers fault, but 4 yrs and $7K…I expect a quality product. The quality of sound is great, but a hunk of junk producing it! I am not in an environment that is hard on them, getting them wet or issues that would cause this. I have tinnitus so without hearing aids it sounds like a freight train running through my head.
I have my first pair of standard battery ones, that have never failed me. Thank goodness I kept them. We as hearing impaired people do not deserve paying for junk!!! Our local dealers can fix “trash”!

"Needs a lot of work"
Adequate is probably the best description as to the effectiveness of the Thrive app. It randomly can't find my hearing aids (despite them being next to the 'phone). Volume conrol sometimes only works on one ( but I can control both manually). Other ad hoc bizzare behaviour necessitating uninstalling the app, downloading again and re-setting. Usually works for a few weeks until something else goes wrong...then repeat process.
App needs some serious work to bring it to an acceptable, functional level!

"Starkey changed my life"
When I got married, I made a decision to go back to secondary school, and I passed very well then I was selected to Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), but since I'm hearing impaired person it was very difficult to make progress. One day, Starkey visited Malawi and provided free hearing aids at Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST). I was one of the beneficiary, and since then, my life changed. As I am speaking now, I am waiting for the graduation ceremony. 🎓 Results are out and show that I made a degree with credit.
I don't know how I can thank you, but God will always bless you.
Best regards,

"2 utter failures - won't be a third"
I gave one star because I couldn't give 0. My second set of Starkeys have crapped out after 2 years. My first set started acting weird after about a year and a half - wouldn't charge fully, kept losing connectivity to phone until they finally would only stay charged for 2 or three hours at a time and couldn't connect to anything.
They were replaced under warranty and the second pair has done exactly the same thing at nearly exactly the same time - good for about 18 months, then weird charging and connectivity problems. The big difference the second time is that the sound quality went off the cliff too. I kept them clean and never go wet, so I have no idea why they would fail again and again. There won't be a third time - I need to find something that can last longer than 2 years.
Starkey has responded but could not find my information in their records. I had received both hearing aids from an audiologist in Denton Texas so the record for the order and replacement are probably under that name.

"Provider not helping but Starkey was!"
I have been having so much trouble getting service from my provider that I called Starkey customer service team direct. Outstanding service from Starkey (Customer representative was Sherry B) Set up my Thrive app and in 15 minutes my husband who has a head injury was smiling and hearing again. Thank you

"New android and new Starky hearing aids…"
New android and new Starky hearing aids and the aids mess up my cell when I get a call. I hear the ring tone twice and then I can barely hear the caller. Taking them back to my doctor to see what's going wrong.
I wish Starky had the ability to double tap and answer your cell. These were suppose to be better than the ones I had, guess not. I was ready for the upgrade my doctor spoke so highly about.

"Have had the Starkey Hearing AIDES I…"
Have had the Starkey Hearing AIDES I purchased through ECHO HEARING
Over a YEAR! BEWARE JUNK JUNK JUNK!! After a year, I have every 3 weeks needed to return to the audiologist, contacted Starkey customer service, been told various tales of why I am having difficulties with their hearing aides too numerous to mention here, also was told how their tech dept had no suggestions, referred me back to tge audiologist ( Etour is her name a very fine lady) , been on a Video link with their specialists in Minnesota and Florida, paid $5,000.00 for regular malfunctioning equipment! Starkey is poor quality period. Spend your monies elsewhere, GOOD LUCK!

"Good Hearing Aid with Terrible Ecosystem"
I have the Evolv AI battery hearing aids. A high end product with lots of touted features and accessories. I guess the hearing aids work ok. However, the documentation of the features and how to use them is so skimpy as to be unhelpful. There is a phone app, great idea, but again the documentation is so skimpy that to make sense of what it does is near impossible, unless you are an audiologist well trained in their product - and they have trouble with it. They have a Telehear audio service that connects to licensed audiologist (great idea!) but depending on who you connect with it can be great or awful. The hearing aids connect to mobile devices but not natively to standard computer bluetooth due to different protocols. To circumvent that they have added an adapter to an older technology device the connects to the computer through an audio port. But the hearing aids must be disconnected to every other device, including the app and the phone must be completely turned off (per Telehear) to prevent interference. To go back and forth is a tedious and undocumented process. Bottom line, there is no integration or overall architecture between the various components of the ecosystem promoted to exist with this high end hearing aid. There seems to be no concern for how the kluge of components and necessary connecting steps impact the customer. User testing by other than trained staff who already know how the products work is not apparent. Bottom line: Some great ideas in the mix but very poor execution, especially for the price point of these high end devices. And not worth the aggravation.

"I have tried level 3 of my Phantom aids…"
I have tried level 3 of my Phantom aids and adjusting volume through my app as you have suggested but found very little difference. Anything else possible? I’d be glad to pay for an upgrade as I won’t be able to enjoy these for hunting,
