"Questionable inspection by Manhiem"

Manheim came to inspect and collect my 2.8 yr old Nissan car, which I was returning. The finance company was the French, RCI, who were less than happy that the car at end of PCP was -£5000 on final value (electric cars - beware!). Clearly the inspector was briefed to find faults. I had 4 pieces of minor damage professionally fixed before the inspection. 1 was unobserved, 3 (upon deep forensic inspection) were deemed unsatisfactory. The examiner was embarrassed and suggested I take it up with the French bxstards at RCI. (Clearly an attempt by RCI to recoup some of their losses - pity Manheim went along with it.) Shameful business dealings!

Edit1 - Manheim asked me to contact them about my review. I tried! (waited for a human being - of course!) and finally got two people who had no idea what I was talking about. I suggested that someone "senior" in the inspection team might like to talk to me and left my phone number. Clearly, as no-one bothered to call me, their "concern" was a proforma response to a poor review?

Edit 2. Dianne (Sp?) finally called me. Not all parts of Manheim are joined up apparently! Apologies for poor response - accepted. Anyway, she "investigated" my "complaint" (what complaint?) Only a TrustPilot review, I thought. Apparently, they had conformed to the rules they abide by (go figure). The professional repairs were unacceptable (nobody I know who looked at them agreed?) and they were not influenced by RCI to rig the inspection. I wonder, however, whether any garage or auction site looked at the car and gave a fig for the "damage". I have modified my rating, I think the only people left to hate here are RCI. Such is life

"Complete joke"

Complete joke. They expect an 8 year old car to show no signs of use. The slightest imperfections and they knock hundreds off their initial price.
Another company trying to make money out of desperate people. I’d rather sell it privately for their knock down valuation, at least that way they’re not making money out of me.

"If you get Manheim doing your end of…"

If you get Manheim doing your end of lease inspection, get set for a big cost coming your way. They were employed by my lease company Novuna Vehicle Solutions and the amount of things which were picked up were a joke. A bit of dog hair in the boot, £50 valet, and that wasn't the half of it. They all hide behind the BVLA guidelines and with no flexibility whatsoever. It's a wonder they can sleep at night!

"Simple and efficient sale."

The process from start to finish was quick and simple. From the detail inputted onto the website about the condition of the car to meeting Suzanne for my appointment, everything happened on time and to plan. Suzanne was very professional and approachable, explained the process of reviewing the car very clearly and what documentation I needed if I was going ahead with the sale. Upon completion of the review there were one or two differences between what I had reported to what was identified on the review. These were explained thoroughly to me, we agreed that they were correct, and the sale price was adjusted accordingly. The price received for my car was fair, so I decided to proceed with the sale, again this was nice and easy, and the money was in my account in 15 minutes. My advice to everyone using this process is to prep well, ensure you give your car a good review and have all the right paperwork ready for when the review of the vehicle happens, it makes the process a whole better experience. Special thanks to Suzanne who carried this out very efficiently for me.

Had a pleasure to meet Nigel Wilson today during my appointment. Nigel was friendly, knowledgeable and his approach was very professional.

Car price was very close to what was quoted online and appointment run very smoothly. Nigel took care of the paperwork and I’ve had my payment within 10 minutes.

We got an offer for my father in laws car a petrol hybrid one owner of auto trader and Manheim they offered my father in law over £600 less then valuation that offered on the online valuations and again over the phone even though we described everything little scratch on the car over the phone they offered you one price over the phone then when they come out they go lower just trying to con people. It’s one thing to go a bit a lower but £600 less as well as the market value being higher than originally offer which was fair enough as they also needed to make a profit.

What can i say - reading reviews i was a little concerned but i can honestly say i had an excellent fast efficient service & immediate pay out. Firstly, they come to you so no running about with the vehicle. I got a price online and the appraisal the following day. Don't be under any illusion, my car was inspected, tested & logged in excess of an hour - and so it should be, these guys are doing a job and their business relies upon them doing a proper job. By time time they had done the difference between the initial offer and actually offer was £300. From my perspective that was totally expected. The paperwork was done onsite along with electronic notification to DVLC (DVLC sent a same day confirmation of transfer). Dan the vehicle inspector was professional & polite - likewise dealing with the call center person was easy peasy and again very efficient. I found it an easy efficient no fuss way of disposing an unwanted vehicle. Thank you all.

"Would give a 0 if the option existed"

Would give a 0 if the option existed, nightmare the inspection found marks on both front alloys that were like a hairline about 20mm long needs a magnifying glass to see them but both charged as scuffs. A scuff needs to be 50mm before it counts and a scuff not like a hair. Front tyres also charged whe more than 3/4 of them had much more than legal thread. Dirt marks found in paint on two areas that was suggested to be re painted not the case and again needs a magnifying glass to see it. Don’t ever lease if theses people are going to do the inspection.
