"Please don’t rent in this location."

Hope I could give negative ratings to what I had experienced with the car I rented with this unbelievable rental company. My instincts were telling me something is bad with the car I was given from the minute I took the car. I was wondering why these guys are located away from all the rentals in EWR. The Nissan car I was given is a total disaster inside. I had to drop my father to the airport and the car broke down before 4 hours of the flight. I tried calling the location and unbelievably I was told that they cannot help me and any problem from battery is my responsibility. I requested a shuttle because I was like 15 mins away from their location for which they said they can’t do anything. IMAGINE MY SITUATION PEOPLE.
I requested everyone before the restaurant and someone helped me to jump start the car. I have returned the vehicle with more gas than required. The people working inside don’t give importance to customers. Customer satisfaction is a zero. So I sincerely request everyone looking at my review to book from other company even though they’re expensive.
All the customers expect is a little help from the rental company when they’re in trouble.
I honestly don’t want others to have this experience. Careful people.

"One of the most frustrating car experience"

This was the most frustrating car rental process I've experienced. I only gave it a three star because at the end one of the gentlemen took over and made minor adjustment, im so sorry I can't remember his name. But I would not be renting with them again

"Although the customer service people…"

Although the customer service people were nice at the desk, there continues to be random charges being taken out of my bank account for a variety of amounts, $10, $39, $11 etc.... and on random dates. Be careful with this company

"This company is a total scam"

I went to pick up my car and the agent told me that buying extra insurance from him for $150 was mandatory. I told him that I wanted to use my own insurance. He said unless I paid him there would be no car. I had no other choice because it was the holidays and he knew everything else was rented out. What a shakedown. He forced me to buy comprehensive collision coverage. I checked with the State of New York and it turns out that comprehensive collision coverage (or any additional insurance beyond what already comes with the car) is not legally required. The New York Attorney General's office of Consumer Frauds clearly states "Car rental companies are prohibited from refusing to rent you a car unless you purchase the additional insurance. The coverages are all optional." The agent lied to me because he knew I had no other choice. He was very threatening. Also when I returned the car, the shuttle driver wouldn't drive me to my airline unless I "helped him out" with a nice tip. Otherwise he said he would just drop me off at the entrance to the airport. I am now contacting my credit card company to file a complaint. I will be filing a consumer complaint with the New York State Attorney General's office. This company should not be in business. For reference, my invoice number was JFK-7376

"Received a notice of collection but…"

Received a notice of collection but never received any statement or bill for what the charge was for. Car was rented and returned clean and on time. Payment was rendered at the office. No reason to be charged after the fact and certainly no reason to send it to collection. Stay away. the car was nasty smelling too.

"Not worth the cheaper price"

I rented from them a midsize car for four days. My one star review is based on: poor customer service, long wait for check-out, unfriendly clerk, car in poor condition, hidden fees not noted on the website.
Really shady business.

The advertised price is NOT what you pay at check out. The rental location is in a remote spot so you are kind of trapped and have to agree.

"The service was terrible"

The service was terrible. Our flight was delayed and we called ahead of time to Fox about our reservation, they said no problem, 2 hours is no big deal you have a 6 hour window. We show up here and the guys gives us a hard time and said our reservation was cancelled after 1 hour because you have to call this location. Nowhere in any damn email does it say that. Tells us to hop back on the shuttle to the airport to another rental car place. Then after back and forward he goes into a room and comes out and says yeah no problem you can have your reservation, only caveat is the price we paid for the full sized vehicle they are out of so we got the next size smaller car while still paying for the larger size. On return the shuttle driver who was pretty much useless told us in between him being on the phone talking to some ladies about how he wants to meet up with them that we have to load all our bags in and out. The service is bad, and clearly dysfunctional, but they make their money off of Expedia and kayak where you don’t know who you’re renting from and exploring people. Don’t waste your time going here.

"Rude people and bad customer service."

Rude people and bad customer service.
This place is to avoid! The price of the rental cars is basically the same than anywhere else but the quality of the car is bad compared to other places. This place looks like a ghetto rental place in the middle of Turkey or Algeria, managed by the local mafia. They will try to sell you their coverage and insist. The worst for me is that I had to drop the car because I happened to have to work all day at the airport. So I parked it on their parking lot, on the side. My mistake was to not tell them and jump in the shuttle which was about to leave. The manager closed my contract, without telling me, and when I came back in the evening, they refused to give me back the car for the 2 additonal days I had paid for, didn't propose any spare solution, I couldn't even rent another car. Even if my rental car was still parked where I had left it, with the tank full of gas... I gave back the car key and had to take an Uber to Hertz where nice people received me and a nice car was waiting for me, and at the same price. I paid 3 days and used only one. I admit I was in the wrong parking the car without telling so, but Drivo manager could have done something, I am the customer and he is the renter.
Avoid this crappy place with bad customer service and rude people.
