The plant I ordered arrived in HORRIBLE shape. Plus, the container I paid extra for did not come with it. I contacted the company but I am still waiting for them to make it right. I will NEVER order from them again. I was ripped off so BUYER BEWARE!!

"Poor customer service"
Perhaps this is the way to get a response from the company. Initially, after I placed an order, I realized I had not seen a place to include a gift card. I waited for my promised confirmation email, which never came. I have sent Lively Roots four messages over four days. I am now in the process of trying to cancel my order - if indeed I have one.

EDITED: Updated to increase the stars to 3. Received a refund and finally spoke to a person who wasn’t rude and condescending, and actually worked to understand the situation instead of accusing me of not reading the fine print to study their complicated shipping policies/times. This person also changed their Yelp name back to Lively Root. Someone higher up seems to care about their reputation but the first line customer service employees absolutely do not.
Original review: Ordered a plant to be delivered for Father’s Day for $33 overnight shipping. The website said it would arrive on Father’s Day or the day after. Two days after Father’s Day the plant finally shipped and doesn’t arrive for 6 days after purchase. Lively Root claims I didnt read the fine print which included their 2 day handling times, which I didn’t see anywhere on the checkout page at all, but plainly saw the dates their website said the plant would be delivered in red print. So they charged overnight shipping costs to ship my item for it to arrive a week later. I also left a Yelp review and the next day they had changed the name from Lively Root to something else. It feels like a very shady company.

"Deceptive shipping times"
Deceptive shipping times, they have huge banners that state one thing that you can click, and then when they don't arrive on the stated time they say you should of read their fine print about their shipping policies. Give me a break, deceptive is deceptive, I don't care what's in your fine print. If you have a big yellow button that says it will arrive on a date, and I click it I expect it to arrive on that date. Despite what's in your shipping policies.
Update: they did acknowledge their mistake and give me a full refund so I'm upping the rating to a 3.

"Customer Service"
The experience with the customer service team at LivelyRoot, was not good. Firstly, the fact that you can't get anyone to answer the phone # for customer service is frustrating. I get that people don't want to answer the phone anymore, but the issue I had regarding receiving some damaged plants, could have been resolved in ONE phone call versus 4 separate emails between myself and the customer who purchased the plants for me as a gift. This experience was beyond frustrating and makes me question how this company receives such great reviews for their customer service.

I used to order from them often, but over the last year the plant quality has been terrible. I recently posted a review on the website of the plant that I received last week and they filter the reviews. My review never showed up and all they have are 5 star reviews. I ordered a small snake plant in a basket. The basket quality was awful! The plant leaves had large cracks in them.

"No gift arrived"
I ordered a plant as a gift for a colleague at another university who had gone above and beyond. The plant was shipped later than stated, they had trouble navigating a university address (even though they have ads for college dorm delivery!), and then...it never arrived. I received a vague message stating that the plant had been left "in a mailroom" but that's all the information to be had. I contacted customer service and they told me to take a photo of the plant and send it to them. This is so frustrating. I can't take a photo of a plant that can't be found!
I've spend way too much time and energy trying to locate this plant and Lively Root has done nothing to contribute to the search. Long story short: my gift was not received and there appears to be nothing that can be done about it. In this case, the company has shown little care for their plants or their customers.
