I would highly recommend you consider Chipperfield Garden Machinery for your next mower and gardening purchase. We received fantastic pre-purchase and after-sale customer support, and their staff are well versed on all matters concerned with mowers!
We purchased a Hayter Motif 48 439H mower from Chipperfield Garden Machinery via their online store. We selected them because they happened to be the cheapest vendor shown on Google's shopping comparison tool. As of August 2017, they were selling this mower make/model for £375 (including delivery) versus >= £410 for all other online sites. I expected this price reduction to mean that the company would have rather poor customer support (to offset their costs) but I was pleasantly surprised with the level of customer care I received.
Upon purchasing the product online in the evening, we received a courtesy call the next morning to confirm the delivery date and an overview of the order. The delivery time-frame was within three days -- a pleasant surprise.
The mower was delivered to us directly from the supplier, Hayter, but it sadly had some niggling issues (two screws came loose during delivery, which cannot be screwed-in by end customers). We sent photos of the defects via email to Chipperfield and noted that the mower unsafe to drive. In about 30 minutes of sending that support email, Chipperfield called us via telephone, and we were greeted by a support staff called Daisy who acknowledged the issue and went into turbo-drive to arrange a replacement unit to be sent to us within days, and confirmed pickup of the old defective mower.
I thought that was the end of the customer experience, but an hour later, we got a call from Jake, who I think was manager/senior staff member at Chipperfield, who noted that they will intercept the second delivery from Hayter, and test and prepare the mower themselves and then deliver to us in known working condition. Jake also noted that they would put engine-oil as well as premium petrol (Aspen fuel) into the unit before sending it to us.
Jake went ahead and explained the difference between normal petrol and Aspen fuel, petrol fuel additives and 10W/30 and SAE 30 engine oil. Everything he said matched the guidance Hayter noted in the mower manual, including the technical manual from Briggs & Stratton (the company who makes the engine that Hayter uses on their mowers).
When the new mower was delivered to us, it was in full working condition, as promised, it was topped up with Aspen fuel and engine oil was primed to the correct level.
We were thoroughly impressed with the knowledge, effort and level of customer-support Chipperfield staff showed. We've already referred one family member to them, and will continue to recommend them to friends and family in the future.
Chipperfield has earned our respect and any future gardening purchases will go towards them.
