"In June 2024 we purchased an Audi A1…"
In June 2024 we purchased an Audi A1 from Motorpoint Chingford for my daughter as she had just passed her test. When collecting the car I noticed a wheel nut missing from the NSF wheel which shocked me as apparently it had just undergone a 200 point check that Motorpoint supposedly do. The salesman apologised and the wheel nut was replaced. We took the car that evening and my daughter drove it from the dealership for the very first time. The following day I had the car checked over by my garage and was horrified to be told the car was illegal. There was a cut to the OSF tyre that was deep enough to reach the cords. To say I was disappointed was an understatement, i didn't understand how this could happen as it only had an MOT 3 days prior. This left me questioning the legitimacy of the MOT. I contacted Motorpoint who agreed to pay for the tyre. If this wasn’t my daughter’s first car I would have asked for my money back as this was a big Red flag for me. We decided to keep the car as her heart was set on it and I thought I would just rectify the car over time. I noticed the front bumper was a slightly different White to the rest of the car so I decided to get the bumper repainted along with a few other small marks. Once again I was horrified when the Bodyshop contacted me to say the car has been in a heavy accident and has filler in multiple panels. I have recently contacted Motorpoint to ask if they would buy the car back from me at the current market value as the car is not as advertised. To say they have been unhelpful is an understatement. They refuse to accept any accountability for this car. It has been a nightmare from day one. I strongly advise people DONT purchase a car from these Cowboys. The car was advertised as a quality used car this a big misrepresentation of this car. I am disgusted with Motorpoint and am currently logging this with the Ombudsman.

"Fraudlent and misguided behaviour to put someone in a financial crisis"
I bought a BMW 19-plate car and opted for a 3-year warranty by paying extra, in good faith, to ensure safety. Unfortunately, I had to use the warranty and discovered that many things were not covered. I ended up paying thousands of pounds after just over a year of using the car for personal purposes.
When they sold the car, I asked multiple times if everything was covered, and the seller assured me it was, only to realise later this was untrue. Instead of paying such a significant amount, I could have secured my vehicle through AA or a similar company. I feel cheated, misguided, and inadequately informed since day one.
As someone who also works with customers, I always make it a point to highlight important information that could prevent mistrust or similar issues in the future. A company like Motorpoint should train its employees to treat customers fairly and ensure they are well-informed about the terms and conditions.
We, as customers, trust well-known brands and their services. Providing clear and thorough information to your customers can help them make better decisions on critical financial matters. It is disappointing to know that Motorpoint, despite being under the FCA, engages in blatant fraudulent practices with its customers. Unfortunately, I must say this is unacceptable and disappointing.

"Very disappointing after sales"
Bought a car from the Derby store.
The presale discussions were great, all details were gone through to ensure I was buying what I really needed.
Collection day was also fine, the assistant was courteous knowledgeable. She explained that the dashcam were requested was not in Stock and would be sent in a day or 2.
So we drove the car away, after about 20 minutes before we got home there was a terrible loud banging noise.
We stopped, called themand were asked to bring the car back.
We did they fixed it with no drama explaining some screws had been missed.
The real fun started with the dashcam.
2 weeks after we had the car still no dashcam.
Chased up motorpoint and the said they would order one and we would be contacted by the fitters in a day or 2.
Dashcam arrived but no calls from fitters.
Contacted the fitters they knew nothing of our order.
Contacted motorpoint again and they they contacted fitters and we were asked to make an appointment.
Next appointment was 2 weeks later.
This meant about a 6 week delay from paying for the dashcam and the fitting date. Not happy.
Asked motorpoint again if they could contact fitters to see if they could do it any earlier bearing in mind that whatever the reason for the delay it sat with them.
Customer service guy was disappointing, wanting to blame another team member and pointing out he was on his own and very busy.
Anyway nothing further happened. This has spoilt what had been up to then a positive experience.

On the day of viewing received an email cancelling as a problem with paint spotted on the bonnet, and but they would sort. Cancelled my interest told would be refunded any funds but no refund. Followed up and then Chased and surprise surprise no reply. Disappointed so bought car elsewhere.

"Do NOT Order a Delivery"
I purchased a vehicle from Motorpoint and paid an additional £299 for Delivery.
I received a phone call the following day to say that the vehicle would be delivered on Friday 4th April. This was confirmed by email, but then I received a call the day before, saying that the car was not ready for delivery. I was then told it would be delivered for the Monday, but was called later saying that the Delivery Company only deliver from Tuesday to Friday. This raised my concerns as the Motorpoint Website specifies that delivery is available Monday to Friday, between 10am and 5pm.
We eventually agreed for the Car to be delivered on the Tuesday, and then we received a phone call on this day, from the Delivery Company, saying that the car could not be delivered. I immediately phoned Motorpoint, who promised that the car would be delivered by 9pm that evening. I asked Motorpoint to give the Delivery Driver my Mobile Number, so he could call me when he was an hour away. This was agreed but I never received any call. We waited up until Midnight and the Car never arrived.
Without notification from anybody, the car arrived on the Wednesday at 9am, when my Wife was just leaving for work.
The Customer Service was shocking and caused us a lot of inconvenience.
I would not recommend this Delivery Service.

"They sold me a lemon"
They sold me a lemon. Had no end of bother with an 8 grand car. It was a battle to get the money back which they eventually did only after deducting 400 because I used the car. By "used" I had the car almost 3 months, I drove to the south coast and back and rest of the time it sat on the drive broken.
In the week after purchasing it I paid 200 for a spare key, had it serviced, fitted new EGR valves, paid a fortune for coating, polishing and tailored car mats and had the alloys touched up. Yet the scoundrels knocked me 400 quid off for a drive to devon. It went back in better condition than they sold it to me other than the knackered wiring loom which they didnt realise it had when they sold me it.
Im glad I binned the spare key and car mats and didnt give them it back now however its still a grand lost to be then charged 400 quid.
Used motorpoint as i thought a bigger dealer would act with abit more integrity. It seems that was an incorrect assumption.
Writing this review late, I had forgotten about it but now the dvla are pestering because motorpoint never took back legal ownership so the dvla are pestering for it to be taxed. says it all really. half a job motorpoint. blather some tyre shine on it and hope for the best seems to be the motto at MP

Chris Anthony was very helpful and helped me get the car I truly desired. Black VW Golf was a car I’ve always had my eyes on. Chris made the process of getting the car very easy. He was very knowledgeable and professional.

"Don't buy a car from this company "
I purchased a Skoda Kamiq from their Burnley branch in May 2024. When I got the vehicle home I noticed the front brake pads had approx. 2mm of friction material remaining and the rear discs were heavily corroded. The O/S/F tyre was heavily worn on its outer edge. I was asked to take the vehicle to my local garage then to Kwik Fit for confirmation, both confirmed the defects. I also sent photos of the pads and discs, clearly showing their severely deteriorated condition. After many phone calls, emails and threats of legal action the agreed to repair the brakes, I stood the cost of the replacement tyre.
This car should have gone through a comprehensive inspection and safety check as per their advertising material but clearly this car hadn't. Due to my experience I wouldn't recommend this company to anybody.
