"Transferred accounts to ADT- Big Mistake"
Transferred accounts to ADT without proper communication. I just randomly started receiving notifications from ADT. My alarm system has been beeping for the last 4 days. Called and was transferred to ADT, on hold for over an hour, then was told I have to pay a flat rate of $100 plus $42 per hour for them to figure out the issue. I never had to pay such high fees to Ackerman. I am disappointed that they transferred to them and without proper notice. ADT has the worst customer service. Their agents not care about the customers. I told the lady I was not happy with the excessive fees I would be charged and she just transferred me to the cancellation department. I have been with Ackerman for over 10 years , this was a huge mistake merging with ADT

"Customer Service is Horrible (Billing Dept)"
Over ten years ago this was a top rated company but, the service that I have received in canceling my contract has been horrible. If your not on wait, your transferred around and now Ackerman doesn’t refund money they have charged to your credit card. Due to them waiting for the ADT takeover.
If your billing is recurring and you cancel your account. Ackerman will still deduct payments from your account.
If you go to the MyAckerman online site, it doesn’t load.

"Transitioned me to ADT without a peep…"
Transitioned me to ADT without a peep from them or ADT. The 800 line setup for Ackerman users with ADT is a 1 hour wait. 4 years with them they were always a nickel and dime company that wanted me to fix their equipment or pay a their tech to do it. Good riddance. Just counting the days until contract is void to be rid of both Ackerman and ADT

"Beware of Ackerman"
I sold my house in March 2022, and cancelled my Ackerman (no contract) account. They continued to bill me. I called & emailed to cancel again. They forced me to send in a paper 'cancellation letter', which I did (tracked via overnight). They continued to bill me. I called back & they informed me my account had been sold to ADT, and I'll need to re-start cancellation process with them. BEWARE of this company. It's a shame because they used to be reputable. Not anymore.

Alarm was beeping 4am, on hold with ackerman for an hour then called Adt (since they bought out Ackerman) on hold another 20 min. To find out there was an outage. 😤told me how to clear it to stop beeping for 4-6hrs... beeping started 20 min later😖😮💨

"Sold out customers contracts"
We were very happy with Ackerman. Unfortunately, they sold us out to another company that has terrible customer service and we are now stuck with them for the remainder of our contract. I found out that we were no longer with Ackerman when someone from the other company called during a power outage. I had no idea why this company was calling. I would give more information but I’m almost 2 hours of combined hold time into trying to contact someone from the new company so I don’t have any.

I just realized that they sold to ADT once I started getting paper invoices from ADT, even as I am still paying Ackerman. When I called ADT to resolve I happen to ask about my end date of my contract to be sure we are all on the same page. They told me the date that was communicated to them was March 2025. I knew this was incorrect because I signed in 2020 and I would never have signed for 5 years. They just kept saying there wasn't anything they could do since I signed it but they couldn't show the contract. Luckily, I was able to find my copy from 2020 and it is for 3 years- end March 2023. I am told I have to call Ackerman to resolve it and needless to say all of the phone numbers keep circling me back around to ADT. This needs to be resolved. ADT has acknowledged receipt of my contract but needs Ackerman to resolve it. I have also reached out to Krystal LaTouche, who was the security consultant at the time as well. PLEASE KEEP YOUR RECORDS AND DO NOT RENEW WITH THEM!!!
