The service person was on time, professional, courteous and very detailed. He offered us suggestions, recommendations and what would be the best situation based on what we wanted and what we had to work with. It was a win-win situation.

"Deal with the devil"

If you choose Ackerman... it's for life. You will never get out of your contract and they will continue charging you even after your contract ends. I've been trying to cancel since March (contract ends in JULY). Paid my contract in full. They keep saying they "didn't get it". They also keep charging me!!!
Now I email them 50x a day and mail my cancel form 10x day until they refund and confirm a cancelation. They've been telling me since March someone in their "Loyalty Dept" will get back to me-- but no one has.
I've reported them to BBB. There is no "loyalty dept" btw.

"I want to cancel my account…"

I want to cancel my account with Ackerman. Have been trying for nearly 21/2 weeks. Been leaving messages for the "Loyalty Dept ". They don't respond back in a timely fashion. In the meantime my account with them is still active and Im still paying on it. I have obtained another Home Security system. Have no need for Ackerman. This is bad business Ackerman! From what im told, I can only get my cancelation document from the "Loyalty Dept" in order to start cancelation process. But the "unloyal Dept" won't get in touch with the customers in a reasonable time frame. I an very frustrated!

I was delighted that Ackerman were able to upgrade my security system effectively, at short notice and at reasonable cost. Their technician, Rob, was kind, polite, friendly and efficient, and this is consistent with the track record: I have always found Ackerman to be extremely supportive and competent. Victor was the Ackerman Consultant assigned to me. He brought many years of experience to the table, which immediately put me at ease. He never over promised what he or Ackerman could do. He was always punctual and carried himself very professional. He went the extra mile to ensure I understood the practicality of what I wanted and how to obtain it. He also applied what ever discounts were available at the time to save me money.

"Ackerman used to be a good company but times have changed ..."

Called to ask about changing service and got UNREAL numbers. I have been an Ackerman customer for over 15 years. I told the Customer Care person that I would be calling other companies to get quotes, and she told me "Okay". So much for any Customer Loyalty department for a long-term customer.
Fast forward three weeks after I switched service. Called to cancel service on local Atlanta number and was on hold over 45 minutes (after speaking to someone after a 10 minute wait). I called a toll free number on another phone (while my current call is still in the queue line) and the person that answered told me the Atlanta department that handles cancellations leave at 5:00.
Good luck trying to get anyone on a direct line in Atlanta to help.
