We normally pay about £50 to £60 per month for electricity. In January YGP charged us over £5,700 (Yes, you read that right, over one hundred times the usual bill). In February they charged us a mere £690, only about times the usual bill. We have repeatedly asked for the return of almost £6400 from them in the three months since. They have consistently ignored us. This is now with the Energy Ombudsman You might want to bear all this mind if you are thinking of buying power from YGP.

I am absolutely gutted, I have been conned into signing a contract with yorkshire gas and power by someone pretending to be an official department. they will not release me from the contract even though nI haven't even got the keys to the property yet. They want £300 up front payment, which I don't have, and when I'll probably only use £100 per month max. Now I find out that there is not even any power in the property when I need to renovate it this weekend. No one will help me, they just say they don't know why, and I signed a contract so its legally binding... completely ignoring why I signed and that I was mislead. And noone will tell me why there is no electric in the property now it has switched over. I have reported them to the ombudsman but not sure anything will happen in time for me to move into the premises. I'm absolutely devastated and feel so stupid.
