"Excessive pricing and rude sales staff"

Whilst I cannot complain about the collection and delivery be prepared to pay significantly more than you should for what you receive. Whilst in lockdown I got a puncture on the front wheel of my Brompton. I called my local bike shop and they said they would charge £10 to repair it. However, there would be a slight delay as they were significantly busy. I decided to try Havebike. I chose the Fix Me Fit Me option as it specifically said "bicycle repairs including puncture". I paid £29.99 for this at booking. I had booked the bike to be returned on the 4th of January but had heard nothing on the morning of. I e-mailed chasing them. I then received a phone call from their sales team who told me that it would cost £28 to repair the puncture. I said to the caller that I had already paid for this, to which he laughed at me. I asked if it is usual to laugh at customers to which he replied that he was doing it in endearing way - suggesting that it was cute that I was shocked that it would cost £57.99 to fix a puncture. Whilst I appreciate that the bike was collected and delivered, this cost is excessive and probably twice as much as should be charged. So whilst the idea is nice, I will not be using this company again. I would also suggest getting some staff training on client etiquette.

"Everything about this service just works how it should. Perfect."

Simply a great and reasonably priced service, which is very convenient. Theologos was fantastic on pick up and drop off, communicating timings perfectly and making it very easy (and safe during Covid times).

I love that the bike is also valeted. All work was to a good standard and now love riding my shiney, smooth running bike.

Couldn’t recommend more! We will be returning to the website when our bikes next need a service.

"Perfect Service"

What an amazing service. I completed the online instructions, made payment and the next day a very polite, fully PEP Theologos turned up to collect my bike. I was fully updated as to the progress on my bike and we agreed the cost of the extra work I had requested. My bike was returned two days later again by Theologos in gleaming condition all the work perfectly completed. They even double wrapped my bars just the way they were previously. My bike is now shifting seamlessly and with much reduced noise. I really cannot rave about this enough. Highly recommended. My bike will be going back to them for it’s next service.

"These guys made my Christmas day"

Went by the havebike repair shop around the corner where I spoke to Dave who said they were closing up for Christmas but he would try to help me with an inner tube if the local bike repair shop couldn't help. Went to local repair shop...knocked, no answer...called, no answer...damn! Back to Dave who took the bike through the gate to check the size of the tube while I waited outside. After a short while...Dave comes out of the gate with a spare tube - bingo. But so does his colleague Paul who has fixed the flat tyre. AMAZING...back on track for using my cargo bike for delivering 100s of meals to people experiencing homelessness on Christmas day. On top of it all they did it free of charge to support Under One Sky's efforts to support our homeless friends.

"I just wanted a puncture repaired..."

I had a puncture and booked a repair by telephone with a friendly woman. Both drivers who collected and delivered back, James and Teologos, phoned ahead, were friendly and punctual. Great! What happened in between was annoying and expensive: Once my bike was with them, the same friendly woman called to say the technicians found the chain worn, they needed to replace that and the freewheel, extra cost 40-50 Pounds. I had noticed nothing wrong, the bike was only two years old, I said please don’t do that. “Your chain might snap”. I replied never mind, when it snaps, I’ll replace it. She said somebody who had spoken to the mechanics would call back. That call never came, so I rang the next day.
The man argued with me that he had called me back the previous day. I had received no call, and found no record of missed calls on my mobile. He insisted on scrolling back through all his calls made the previous day, which took a while, and eventually triumphantly said he had called me 22 hours ago. I replied please repair my puncture and let me have my bike back as agreed, I need it urgently. He said not unless the chain etc were replaced as well. I wanted just the puncture fixed, pleaded, when that did not help told him he was holding my bike hostage, I would never recommend such a company to others. He said if I threatened to speak badly on social media, there would be no repair at all and they would bring it back with the puncture. Then launched into a lecture, how my chain might snap in the middle of a crossroads. He repeated the lecture three times. In the end I was so worn out I pleaded just to do whatever at whatever cost, but I needed my bike back and usable urgently.
30 minutes later someone else called Dave rang and suggested a compromise, they would do the repair but take 30 Pounds off the final bill. Next day my bike came back, with a note: Pedals broken, need repair. That might snap in the middle of a crossroads. But I’ll rather ask someone else to fix it.

"Excellent bike servicing, highly recommended"

HaveBike provided great communication throughout the process around the delivery and pick up and also around the repairs needed for my bike. It has been a quite a while since I had it serviced so it needed quite a few but Dave talked through everything in detail and provided transparency around what they were and why they were needed. Efficient pick up and delivery from Theologus, who was also kind enough to wait a while outside to make sure the bike got delivered back to me safely. I didn’t have phone service at the time and so he couldn’t get through to me for a while (sorry about that!) will definitely be using again.

"Brilliant service!"

After a very unfortunate accident in September, my bike was completely unridable. I sent off my bike to HaveBike through recommendations and I have not been disappointed. The bike was quickly and efficiently booked in and picked up.

Following loads of very challenging issues with my bike’s manufacturer, I had a consistent and honest dialogue with HB. We spoke regularly about the status of my repair and I felt totally heard and taken seriously when my bike return was delayed due to the manufacturers.

Dave especially has been brilliant through this very stressful process and was extremely empathetic to my situation. He and Tony really went to bat for me when it didn’t look likely my bike would receive the parts it needed - meaning I wouldn’t have had a bike at all. I have ended up with a pretty much brand new bike and feel that it wouldn’t have been possible without the team.

A special shout out to Lee, who completely rebuilt my bike and the other lovely technicians that helped along the way. Thank you!

I really feel like a valued customer, and despite all of the difficulties, I received an outstanding service. I’m so happy I chose HB as I really don’t think I would have had the end result I have now.

Couldn’t recommend these guys any more - they’ve managed to get my bike back to me just before Christmas and I’m really happy with the results.
