"Great service on the bike- but aftercare? Customer service? not so much..."

I've used them 3 times and have usually found their work is to a high standard. It is pricey but you are paying for the convenience of them collecting and dropping off. It's a great idea and business model BUT it doesn't work so well if things aren't right. As other people have said here, it is virtually impossible to phone them- why? either have a phone number or don't. Second, they fitted a new inner tube on my bike and i was happy with the work they'd done. When it came to topping up the tyre pressure i couldn't get any air into the valve (but it would come out). I tried calling (waste of time) and e-mailed. Can you send photos of the valve? they said- i did "that's a normal Shrader valve" they replied, and suggested i take it to a bike shop! No offer to collect it and have a look at it, look at it when they were next in the area etc- just "tough, take it to a bike shop" - well, if that had been a possibility i wouldn't have used their company in the first place. I've been given the brush off which means i won't be using them again.

"Poor service and communication"

I never write on these review sites but at this point not really sure what to do.

Recently paid for delux service. They picked up and bike and returned it. When the courier arrived with the bike they informed me the service had been cancelled and couldn’t tell me why. Havebike charged me the full £89 regardless. To make matters worse the seat of the bike had been removed so i can’t use it.

I rang them on the same day and managed to get through to someone who wasn’t sure what had happened but promised to contact me by the end of the day (or at least by Monday 1st March) to sort it out. I have heard nothing (now Saturday 6th March)

I since have tried calling 4 times over the week leaving a message each time and have written 3 emails asking for some kind of communication. I still haven’t heard anything back. I am now worried havebike might be a scam.

Cycling has been my lifeline during the lockdown and I was really looking forward to cycling this spring. Really, really disappointing service

*Update - director of the company called me on 6th March and apologised. Bike was quickly collected again, serviced and returned at a time of my choosing. A 25% discount was given. Not a great experience but I appreciate the director got involved and sorted it out. Bike is now running like new!

"Not great"

The service sounds good on paper but unfortenately the execution is poor. Unresponsive customer service.

After my bike was serviced by the havebike team, it was returned a day later than originally envisaged (which was a bit disappointing but at least they kept me updated). The back tyre which was replaced was the wrong size meaning I have different sized tyres on each wheel! Makes me question the quality of service they provide.

I have tried to contact the havebike team three days in a row to arrange the change of the tyre and all of my calls/voicemails/emails have been ignored. now have to cancel my weekend ride because of this...

Really disappointing.

"Excellent service"

Really impressed with this company - they did a standard service and fixed a couple of other issues. Bike was returned a day later than originally expected but this was communicated in good time and the whole process / cost is very transparent. Will definitely be using them again!

"Missing nut solved!"

Had a bit of trouble with my bike so when I spotted havebike on my way past I asked if they could help me and they came to my rescue, I was able to be on my way in five minutes, really helpful and friendly, Thanks so much !

"A very efficient service"

I had my bike serviced through them and the whole process was very efficient and convenient. The bike came back as new riding beautifully. The parts required (a new chain and front brake pads) were priced reasonably. The drivers ring ahead to warn when they are arriving. All in all a great way of getting you bike serviced or repaired.

"After a poor first experience, havebike really impressed me with following up to resolve"

My original review is still located below, however I felt it was worth updating to reflect the great customer service I've had to rectify the issue.

I was contacted and it was arranged for my bike to be collected, serviced and returned again. The issue I had reported that was missed out on was looked at specifically and action taken to fix.

I guess you can't avoid issues or unhappy customers 100% of the time, but havebike have stepped up to sort out my issue and I would happily go back to them again now for future work.

I booked my bike in for a basic service and confirmed any additional costs as described, which was fine. When I got the bike back I noticed a mechanical clunky sound so called them to ask about this. The bike was collected again to be checked and I was told it was fine, nothing further was needed which I was a bit sceptical of. Once I start to use the bike more regularly again the sound got that bad I had to bring it to another cycle shop and was told other parts needed to be replaced. Very poor that this wasn't picked up on after being looked at twice, as I would have happily paid extra at the time for replacement and now looking at shelling out for labour costs again.

I got in touch to enquire about this a couple of weeks ago, was told I'd be contacted and still haven't heard back. Seems that they are more concerned about getting through as many bikes as they can during the current pandemic and not providing the service levels required. Will not be using again or recommending to anyone.
