"No trust for Nurx! "

I have trusted Nurx in the past, but no more!

On Jan 6th, Nurx charged me $30 for a consultation that resulted in a doctor (supposedly) writing me a note on Jan 9th prescribing me Retin-A. She provided instructions and said to contact with any questions.

Jan 16th: After 10 days, I had not received my shipment. This started a back-and-forth train of messages. From Nurx: "Thank you for using Nurx"... "there is a back-up and we are processing requests first-come, first-serve"..."we will get back to you soon," etc.

Jan 21st: A message from the "Care Team" said medication is delayed because I didn't respond to my doctor's question from 1/18. BUT THERE ISN'T A QUESTION anywhere in the messages. Plus, the doctor was done prescribing the medication on Jan 9th. After Jan 9th, it just needed to be shipped out, which obviously hasn't been done.

Also, Nurx refused to refund my $30 for the consultation, saying it's non-refundable.

Jan 28th: The day I am writing this review. I will update my note with what happens with my shipment, refund, or further action.

"Prioritizes Money Over Health"

While Nurx might seem like a good option for birth control, if you value your health, I would highly advise to skip Nurx and go to an actual OBGYN. I don’t have insurance at the moment which is why I have been relying on Nurx for birth control. I have had nothing but horrible issues with this company. None of the pills are agreeing with me. My periods have been awful and they keep insisting on me staying on the pills for more than 3 months because “it can take your body a while to adjust.” I know my body and that if, in 3 months a medication isn’t working for me, it’s not going to work.

The pill they have me on now is Estarylla. I have been bleeding for 6 months straight. I asked to change pills after 3 months, but the physician that was working with me asked to give it another 3 months. I agreed even though I was hesitant. I’m now 6 months in and my mood swings are absolutely unbearable. My anxiety is through the roof, I feel depressed all the time, my anger in uncontrollable, and I have been dealing with suicidal thoughts more than usual. This paired with the uncontrollable night sweats has been an absolute nightmare. I emailed them and told them these side effects and, 3 days later, have yet to get a response from them.

This is another money making scheme where all they care about is making a quick buck. They’re messing with women’s hormones yet they don’t want to deal with the side effects that women are experiencing from these pills. It’s scary that they also offer medication for mental health. With their lack of response, I would highly suggest going elsewhere. I officially give up on Nurx. I’m going off the pill and can’t wait to be back to my normal self. Please save yourself the hassle and go somewhere that actually prioritizes your health over money.

"I would give ZERO stars if I could"

I would give ZERO stars if I could! I paid 59 dollars for a medical review, I filled out the questionnaire, did not hear anything for two days, then a medical provider asked me a couple questions, did not hear back for a few more days, then provider finally said I could get a Rx, and I said ok. I did not hear back from them, and I complained to customer reps several times, I only got apologies for the delay, after a week, I got fed up and asked for my refund. They denied the refund because the 59 dollars was for a medical review. What is the point of a medical review if I got nothing out of it? Their website says 24-48 hours, and I first started on 1-8-25, and it has been ten whole days! Still no RX! Nothing!! Run away from Nurx!!

"For STI testing use Everlywell instead"

TLDR: Nurx takes a month to get your results.
I’m still in the process of getting STI test results. My spouse and I regularly test for STI due to our lifestyle and normally we use Everlywell which has great customer support and turnaround times. We thought we’d give Nurx a try but this is going to be the first and last time we do that. It takes them several days to review your request for a test before they even ship it, which then takes almost a week to get to you (and we do not live in an obscure location). They must use the most budget shipping rate available. I took samples and put the test back in the mail immediately and it took a whole week before they even received it. I then received an email that it takes 5-8 business days to process the tests and another 1-2 for a provider to review your results and give them to you. All said and done, you’re talking like a month-long process. This is not a great way to run this sort of thing. Everlywell can have the test delivered to us in 3 days, and it takes 3 days to get back and within 2 business days we have results posted in the app. That’s a week.

"I use Nurx to get my birth control"

I use Nurx to get my birth control. I’ve been using their services for more than a year. It’s easy to use, convenient as they deliver to your address for free. They send refills automatically before you run out. The only problem is that my insurance doesn’t want to cover my pills because Nurx as a company charges the insurance instead of having the pharmacy do it. So I pay $45 every 3 months just because of some stupid logistics

"Nurx is a scam"

This company has turned into a site just here to scam patients in need. I was firstly over charged by $360 with two charges unrelated to the actual service or medication I was being provided. Not one representative online could explain why this has happened or even answer the question as to if and when those charges will be refunded. They approved my orders, made a shipment and then canceled that shipment. This was not fixed until I reached out 4 days later asking for an update on the shipment. Their response was that my order had just now shipped. I asked for any confirmation on when it would arrive and they've ignored me completely. Now I can finally see the shipment will in fact arrive after I already need the prescription. I've had to call in to have a single use order sent to a local pharmacy. This will I'm sure be many more additional charges. On top of all of the major issues with useless help online where automated responses are generated they've never once even attempted to bill my insurance. I confirmed this over the phone today with an employee from the company. The online customer service responded to me many times that if I have uploaded my insurance they will at a least attempt to bill it. It's uploaded and they could see my plan when I was talking to a person directly. On the phone she said she could see they've not once tried to bill my insurance and it's likely because I am being sent a 7 month supply which is typically denied. So they aren't even trying or letting me know there's a solution to getting things covered. I was told today most insurers only cover 3 months at a time. Never once have a asked for a larger supply to force myself to pay out of pocket! This was something they decided and have cost me so much money over time by lying right to my face. What a scam! Use anyone else who is actually working to support patients and all of their needs!

Edited to add Nurx is responding because if I do not provide them more information quickly enough the review will be removed. I do not wish to continue to receive assistance from your company that is following horrendous business practices. I will never use the service again. I have confirmed my insurance covers single month prescriptions in full. Nurx chose to not provide me with my medication in a way it would be covered despite my constant requests insurance be billed as well as confirmation that as long as I have insurance it will be. They have cost me at minimum hundreds of dollars and I'm sure have made more billing me than what insurance would agree to pay them directly. They also had to bill me for 2 assessments a year to continue provided 6 months of medication at a time. If the prescription were just set to renew monthly they'd only have the opportunity to bill me once annually. They also don't have to coordinate as many shipments this way. Disgusting!

"I ordered 2 prescriptions back in…"

I ordered 2 prescriptions back in October. I received 1 but not the other. A USPS tracking number was provided but showed it never shipped. Nurx customer service is claiming the prescription was delivered even though the tracking clearly shows it never shipped. (I sent a screenshot of the tracking to customer service) Fraudulent business practice. I would avoid this company.

"I do not recommend the service"

I do not recommend the service. My prescription was late two or three times (this is a prescription that if you stop taking, you can have a seizure) even though I was proactive and tried to get it renewed ahead of time, they still managed not to get it on time. One time - due to their pharmacy forgetting to mail out my meds - I ended up having to pay for the full price of the prescription (because the late ones they forgot to send had already been billed to my insurance) just so I wouldn’t have to miss pills.

They do not seem to care. It often takes three days or more to get a response. Then when you do, it is often a canned response or not related to the question you asked. Very often when you submit a message to their online system it gets passed between numerous people, and even if you ask them to read the thread above so they can understand the context, they don’t and very often that means your question never really gets answered.
