"Valspar Kitchen and Bathroom paint."

Oh my goodness talk about saying the opposite to what is on the can! Bought the Kitchen and Bathroom paint (premium one) and had mixed to “Elephants Breath” two weeks ago in my local B&Q and after 3 coats it’s streaking lines of water down the wall each time someone dries their hands on a towel, it’s near sending me mad! Hugely disappointing. I think I will just pay up and buy the real McCoy in future rather than trying to be economical. I’m gutted to think I’m going to have to keep painting this wretched wall…,

"Horrible coverage"

Horrible coverage, requiringlots of coat, and the paint scratches very easily, almost like if it was made of chalk. This is especially true for darker colours such as Deep in the Abyss (L24cW46c) but maybe because scratches are just more visible. Our contractors are pro so it is not an issue with prep or experience.
Avoid Valspar.

After receiving the standard reply from Valspar, I am still waiting from them "to reach out to me personally."

What happened is that it is just a bad quality paint at high price.

The valspar paint we have applied to our wooden doors and furniture is peeling/scratching off. It's particularly bad on the edges.

Currently renovating a 3 ped home and had all walls and ceilings freshly plastered. Used a mist coat on the plaster and in bedrooms paint went on no problem. Wife found a colour she seen in B&Q for the hall stairs and landing which was valspar not used this paint anywhere else in the home and thank god i never-at £50 or more per tin expeced high quality the first coat was very poor then put another 2 on still poor coverage also advertised as suffable and good for.high traffic areas it is far from it there are patches everywhere flaking off and this cannot be down to prep as.been fine with every other brand of paint used in the house with same mist coat methods and my daughter brushed past the wall her zip mearly caught the wall and paint rubbed off absolute dog sh** quality paint stick with other cheaper brands get your moneys worth called customer service today nice guy answered but said i now need to mess about filling out a form, take pictures and find receipts for them to even look into i have 2 tins unopened and not intending to use

"Worst paint ever"

Paint went on alright, but less than a year later there was discolouration and botching plus the colour had faded. Been painting for over 30 years and this is the worst. Will never buy again

"Never again!!"

Bought this paint from B&Q last weekend (Emulsion for Walls & Ceilings) and wish I had read the reviews first!! Terrible paint and will never buy again - I've just finished my 3rd coat and it is still drying very patchy and blotchy as was the case with previous reviews. I don't expect a refund but will be advising B&Q in due course. Will have to start all over again but will stick to a ready made up colour from a reputable brand.

Update 15/03/24.
B&Q were very helpful and firstly, put the paint back in the mixing machine to see if that would make a difference, and secondly, in addition they kindly gave us a new smaller tin at no extra cost and asked us to let them know if it helped.

We applied another coat (the 4th) and it was starting to improve but unfortunately it was still a little bit patchy and would still need another coat at least.

We decided to cut our losses and eventually found another branded paint that was very similar to the colour we needed and purchased that. It went on another wall in just 2 coats.

It may be that it was just a problem with the particular colour we chose but Thank you Valspur for responding.

"Absolutely terrible paint"

Absolutely terrible paint, like many others I wish I had read the reviews before buying. Bought Valspar Silk paint and am now on coat 5 on one wall! The colour is still uneven and patchy and the wall marks so easily. Utter waste of time trying to get even coverage and really regret the time and effort spent on trying to make the wall look good. Will not be buying Valspsar ever again.

I wish, wish, wish I had checked the reviews before I bought the wood and metal paint for interiors.
The paint is extremely watery and has very, very poor coverage. As we were painting it on, it started to almost separate and was almost like oil mixed in with water. The painting became extremely stressful and after about an hour we were just feeling beside ourselves with stress. I then looked online to see if anyone else had issues and found these reviews. I am in tears. Looks like we will have to do at least four more coats for any kind of normality and a semi basic finish. So disappointed. This really has ruined the whole finish. A total waste of money. We were fooled by the choice of colours but wish I had just gone for a slightly different shade where there was less choice but better quality. No idea what to do as looks like others struggle to complain to B&Q and how do you prove it without making someone go through the same frustrating painting experience. Waste of money, serious waste of time and devastated.

9/03 - Valsper replied but not made contact.
Have now done three coats and stand by being unhappy. It also peels off like PVA glue (bits that were on frog tape) and marks/chips really easily. This is a shockingly bad product. I feel like I will forever be touching it up. Wanted to go to B&Q today and plaster the colour samples in post its telling people to check the reviews.

"Terrible lid design."

We were advised by a B and Q paint specialist to use the Valspar 'Premium' quality paint. This one is very good.
However the lid opening design is horrendous, you need a special tool ideally.

"Poor customer service"

Absolutely unhappy with the service and the love your colour guarantee they offer, I chose a black paint for my stairs but I was given a black with a hint of purple, asked for refund, told to fill form online and send receipts. Purchased a lot of valspar paint on same day, but this specific one was 3 boxes as there was an offer of 3 for 2. I replaced them with 2 new one proper black paint because the offer was expired and I was told by B&Q that I will get a refund once I send receipts, but valspar customer service after several emails decided not to refund me. So I have paint I don't need unopened, I lost money and I will never buy again form them, they are not going to give you a refund if you don't like the colour.
They don't reply to emails as well you have to call if you want to be heard.

PS: an update, Valspar asked for my details and never reached back to help, this again proves how poor customer service. My paint is still in the boxes and money are lost. Do not buy

P.P.S: I would add that finally Valspar Customer service got I touch with me and they refunded me, I am adding stars to my review as the experience has been awful but they eventually sorted it out the issue and promised the love your colour guarantee. Thank you
