Valspar Paint
Heather Virginia Sims
"I think there is a special place in hell reserved for Valspur"
Ordered gloss paint for internal walls and hired professionals to do our study with this paint. Paint was thin and watery, after FOUR COATS it’s still not full coverage and it took over a week for it to fully dry, the room two weeks later still stunk of paint fumes. The professionals also did our bedroom with farrow and ball with ZERO ISSUES so this definitely wasn’t a “workman blaming their tools” issue. We picked Valspur because we found the exact colour we wanted (rusted red if you’re curious) and figured we’d just go for it. Will not be using this again and will tell everyone to AVOID. I then emailed the company detailing meticulously how the room was prepped and the paint applied (at their request to do so) and that it wasn’t good enough because their dogshite product has ruined the look of our room after we paid £800 for professionals to do it also- what did they offer? Another fregging tin of their god awful paint. Not only is it awful product but awful customer service policies.

Valspar paint.
I Just painted some undercoated and sanded skirting board.
The paint was thin and when being painted seemed to react to the Deluxe undercoat.
Done lots of decorating and never had this issue before when drying the paint started to run.
sanded it repainted and the same hapened should have bought Deluxe

"Without doubt this tin of Valspar Trade…"
Without doubt this tin of Valspar Trade Emulsion is the worst emulsion paint I have ever used. I have watered down bog-standard emulsion to use as a mist coat for newly plastered walls and got far better depth of colour than the Valspar garbage. It's like painting semi-skinned milk onto a wall.

"DO NOT BUY the Valspar Satinwood Paint…"
DO NOT BUY the Valspar Satinwood Paint - it is awful and a complete waste of money - if you want milk then buy this, honestly I don’t know why it’s n the shelves for sale

"I'd like to warn people from ruining…"
I'd like to warn people from ruining their walls. I've used this paint twice now in two different colours, 7 years ago, and then again today. I mistakenly thought they would have improved the quality by now. I applied the paint evenly with a new roller, and both times, the paint peels off in chunks as you are applying it! You end up with patchy, uneven walls that look like they were painted by a complete amateur. Very frustrating. Valspar colours are gorgeous, but the quality of the paint is awful and just not worth bothering with. For future touch-ups I will colour-match my Valspar paint card with a Dulux paint.

"Well I wish I had looked at these…"
Well I wish I had looked at these reviews before I purchased my hot pink paint. Three coats in and still not full coverage, patchy. I made a point of asking guy who mixed it “is this comparable to Dulux”, he said better, thicker, total lie! Don’t buy, I’m just glad it is only a small wall that I’m trying to paint. Off to do coat 4!!!

"Atrocious paint and colour, hidden catches in guarantee. "
Picked the perfect colour card at B and Q for wood satin. Unfortunately the actual paint is a bright, punk-like orange, completely different to the pastel shade i chose. Also the coverage after 2 coats is very patchy still, and i am a good painter. In the small print of Valspars guarantee to refund your replacement tin, I just saw the 1L tub is not valid. Only 2.5L or above. Ridiculous, 1L was £27! Why is that not valid?! Never again Valspar, you've had your last penny from me.

"Terrible paint!!! AVOID!!!"
Terrible paint!!!
Paid for mid sheen premium emulsion. So far 4 coats in and so patchy. Coverage is terrible. 3 tins in at £38 a tin. Get so far in you are committed.
Do yourself a favour. Use Dulux or Crown paint mixing service. Yes it costs more but will work out cheaper in the long run.
