I work in the industry (completely independently to Solidor) and can happily say that 3 members of my own family, as well as my own house have Solidor front doors.

As a consumer, other than the well publicised security and thermal benefits of Solidor, for me the fact that they aren't spray painted and have the thermal plastic skins makes a huge difference on high traffic doors. Particularly with little folk running in and out! Yes, I could find a cheaper door on each occasion but we all agree on the superior quality of Solidor. After all, if you are planning to remain in the property the price difference is worth it.

"A disgraceful company"

A disgraceful company, after my door was installed there was a scratch at the front of it and I called Solidor requesting a colour pen so I can fix the issue myself instead of them having to lift a finger to fix it.

10 calls , 2 emails and 3 months later I have received NOTHING from them, just empty promises. They do not care about you after you spend a FORTUNE on one of their doors, their door scratches easily, complete waste of money. DO NOT BUY, GO ELSEWHERE.

We've really been pleased with this company from start to finish. They were pleasant and helpful on the phone and in person, without being pushy. We wanted to use an installer that we knew and this was handled with problem.

The website was really user friendly and when we were stuck over glass options, they helpfully gave us brochures so we could look in more detail on the "see-through-ness" if that's even a word!

The door itself arrived without hassle and on time. It was well packaged and arrived without damage.

Our installer has put the door in and it is spot on. It feels heavy duty but looks just the white wooden door look that we were after, right down to the grain in the wood. We chose the London Etch glass and we are really happy with the high level of privacy but with a good level of light still coming through.

The lock feels study and the three key option is handy for leaving having one for each grown up and one with trusted neighbour.

We will certainly use them again when we want to replace our front door!

The main appeal to purchase a Solidor was the security, style and overall quality of the door oh and the fact that ours was 12 years old and ugly! My hubbie was originally looking at the Rockdoor which I didn’t really like the style/material/feel or look especially when comparing it with the Solidor; Solidor’s range was of far better quality and the style we chose (Tenby 2 with minimal metalwork and separate postbox) just simply looked more elegant and classy than others we had looked at. We loved the choice of colours however black was simply the best option for us. We also liked the simplicity of the door i.e. not too fake/glossy/fussy looking and looks more like a solid wood door but with the benefits of a composite door.

We chose Prescot Door and Window Centre to supply and fit our new door and can absolutely say that from initiation to completion the whole team have been amazing with us! They have all been very attentive and understanding, polite and courteous throughout – the workers were also exceptionally clean, tidy and extremely proficient/skilled and knowledgeable – they gave us plenty of tips on how to look after the door too! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, totally professional at all times. A true pleasure to have dealt with each and every one of them – nothing was ever too much trouble!!

Based on our experience so far, we would definitely HIGHLY recommend both Solidor/Prescot Door and Window Centre to others and have already done so to a friend of ours - well done and thank you!

"After much deliberation we purchased …"

After much deliberation we purchased the golden oak Brescia composite Solidor in late 2016. Unfortunately the door warped over time and had to be replaced in 2017. Now the same problem has occurred and we contacted the local agent to come and inspect it. No communication what-so-ever. so after calling twice decided to contact Solidor directly. They responded and asked for details of the local agent, which we gave. Now, after more than two weeks and being told that they would process our complaint we have still heard nothing. Not impressed!!
