"Great customer service"

I have a Solidor from the Stafford range that was fitted in 2011, and has been fine and still looks as good as the day it was fitted.
However the inner white plastic door frame seal, which slides into a recess, became damaged over the 7 years at the bottom of the frame through use and required replacing. The local company which fitted the door did not have the special seal so I contacted Solidor and they sent a replacement seal free of charge. Can’t fault this customer service after 7 years!

I am having nothing but trouble with this company. It took me ages to decide on a new front door but eventually chose Solidor. Found my local stockist and ordered my door in (Black Gloss - not a high gloss just a sheen) The door itself is great but to our my dismay the frames on the glass cassettes and the drip bar are matt so don't match the door at all. We assumed they had sent the glass cassettes that belong to the matt version of our door and even the fitter and the supplying company agreed they were wrong so replacements were requested and duly arrived, this time the drip bar had a slight sheen but the glass cassettes were still matt (do they think I'm an idiot and wouldn't notice) Replacements were ordered again and again the same happened and we have now been told that this is the only option as they don't do a more shiny black, in which case how have they now managed to supply the drip bar which is now correct??? This is very shoddy in my opinion and the gloss option should not be available if the panels do not match if we had been made aware of this in the first place I would have gone for the matt door which was the only black door on display at the showroom. I am now regretting having anything to do with Solidor.

Why would you send matt black when it is obviously not going to match and why would you supply the same wrong items three times in total - once at the original fitting and now two lots of replacements. It is like having a pair of shoes - one black patent and one black leather, I am speechless and this issue is no nearer being resolved than it was when the door was fitted a month ago..
2 weeks on and the Solidor engineer has arrived to replace my cassettes with exactly the same ones that have been sent four times now - give me strength, what a rubbish company, this chap even admitted that we wouldn't get anywhere with our complaint, my Rolls Royce door has turned into a Ford Mondeo!!!!!!!!!

The company that supplied the door on behalf of Solidor are trying to help but it's even beyond their control as quite frankly Solidor doesn't respond to them either despite them having done business with them for many years. They have sent one set of the cassettes to the company who make their windows and they have sprayed them for us but now they are too shiny so these don't look right either. At the moment we still have the original matt black panels in the door and am awaiting a report from Solidor - I am not at all hopeful of the problem being solved, they are a big company and don't give a damn about the customer.

Lots of complaints listed get replies immediately from the company but I wonder how many problems are actually solved. If you read the reply I had you would assume everything was being sorted - not true... They say to contact them if you are not happy, well this is a laugh as they do not get back to you direct no matter how many times you contact them.

We have had to admit defeat, they won't accept the issues we have and we have nowhere else to go with this, needless to say we are very disappointed.

"Solidor Ludlow"

Had a Solidor fitted in November 2017.
My first impression was that it was not as well sealed as expected for such an expensive item there is a small draught from the bottom of the door.
I also thought there is a lot of water that collects in the bottom seal which doesn't drain properly, thats going to cause mould at some stage.
December 2017 during heavy rain the door leaks with water pouring from the glass fittings called the fitter to get a um, oh, erm, I'll have to get back to you response.
I'm sure in time this issue will be resolved but how long will this take.
1 week and counting....
My gut feeling was not to go with Solidor but the wife had her heart set on it.
Trust your gut...

"Nice shell but all the rest is awful"

I bought one since I really like the design and the extra money was worthless to be different and unique... unfortunately is not well made, the paint coating is coming out, the door is slightly bent... and now water is coming in the sill since it does not close properly. Due to that factor there is a draught... so stay away, buy eurocell or anything else.
Not getting a Solidor will allow you to have worry free life and save on your gas bill

Just had a door installed. Service was really friendly, really quick and it was in before Christmas. The installers did it really quickly and we’re really great about all the questions I had. Could ask for better service.

It such a lovely door - I can’t stop looking at it! It’s really solid, and I feel so much more secure in my home now.
