Wish i'd replaced the front door years ago!
The new door has stopped all the drafts and looks gorgeous in peacock blue. Definitely feels like i've bought quality and a lot more secure than before. Install was hassle free and will definitely recommend to friends.

Purchased a fabulous front door 4 years ago ( it still looks like the day it was fitted) somehow an end cap had came of the bar at the bottom of the door , I contacted Solidor and they put one in the post the same day and was with me first thing next day. It’s unusual nowadays to find a company that respects their customers and are so lovely to deal with. When we purchased the door I contacted Solidor and we viewed their range at their head office , even then everyone was really helpful and offered a genuine and honest opinion on the door we chose. I am in the process of replacing our back door for a stable door and would not consider going anywhere else. I live in a period property and Solidor products suit my house perfectly. I rarely give 5 star reviews as I am a very very fussy person. Solidor are what I would call a “ good honest company that provided excellent customer service”

"Don't respond"

Liked the way you could specify your door and see what it would look like. Submitted the spec and got an email saying that someone would contact me - no one did (this was a couple of months ago). Thought I would have another go as I already have my own supplier so today I asked to download a brochure. Apparently someone will contact me - why can't I just download a brochure. No email by the end of the day so not giving them any business.

I conducted lots of research a few years ago when looking to buy a good quality composite door and decided on Solidor. I wish i hadn't!! The first door had water ingress around the glazed cassettes and other quality issues which led to a replacement door being fitted. This Ludlow style door, in black, has now been installed approximately 2 years. The interior plastic trim around the glazed cassettes is really poor quality, brittle plastic that clips into place. As the sun rises in the morning the door absorbs the heat and and the heat transfer is causing these plastic trims to make loud cracking noises which wake up the entire household. The glazing tape is also oozing from the outside trim (I suspect due to constant expansion and contraction) which makes the door look cheap. This problem has got worse over the hotter Summer months. Other manufacturers such as Rockdoor have Heat Shield technology which prevent darker doors from absorbing heat.
Unfortunately I am caught between Solidor, the supplier and the installer. The supplier and the installer were at loggerheads with each other and so when I first started having issues with the first door I turned to Solidor for help. I was told that Solidor do not deal directly with customers. After several months we had a second door fitted but recently when quality issues came to light again I decided to visit Solidor's website. I noticed there was an option to contact the company as a homeowner. I completed the online form several weeks ago but have heard nothing back. The supplier has not answered my emails either. I feel totally frustrated by my situation. At the end of the day I chose Solidor as it appeared to be a quality product but feel completely let down.

We designed our door online and let our daughter choose the colour... Rich Aubergine. We were a bit anxious about the colour but Oh my Goodness, its beautiful.

"Unacceptable quality parts."

Solidor stable type door fitted May 2013 by Tettenhall Windows as part of a pair of Solidor doors. Now the transom bar end caps and cassette surrounds originally bright white are now a deep cream colour and look ridiculous. Obviously used non-uv stable ABS which surely can't be acceptable, or considered acceptable quality on EXTERIOR doors. These are NOT cheap doors! Unable to get these parts replaced by Vendor who are at loggerheads with Solidor over other quality issues with them, leaving ME piggy in the middle. Very disappointing and lousy CUSTOMER service. I AM a CUSTOMER! All I want are the parts (full transom bar and inner and outer cassette surrounds and I'll fit them. Cant post photos on here but photo evidence available to anyone who is interested.

"Not a happy experience"

I had three Solidor doors fitted by a company called Window Options whose name I obtained from the Solidor website as a recommended installer. After more than six months they still had not finished the job and I am now in dispute with them. A few weeks ago I noticed that one of the doors was leaking past the glass during heavy rain and Window Options response was "these doors don't leak" and of course refuse to come and look at the door.

I decided to phone Solidor to find out how the glass cassette should be put together as this was done on site and I was surprised that the seal appeared to rely on a single adhesive strip between the cassette and the glass. Over the last two years I have had to contact many suppliers for technical advice on my self build and always obtained the help I needed. But in Solidor's case the switchboard absolutely refused to put me to anyone who might help. Poor service indeed.

One day the front skin of these doors will be rebated to accept a glazed unit like a timber door. Currently the method is less robust. It appears some suppliers buy the complete door ready for installation from Solidor while others just buy the door slab and fabricate the frame themselves.

These doors certainly look better than the standard high gloss contract composite door. But I wish I had taken the time to read more reviews, the comments from installer Sarah on Google are particularly worrying. Wiser after the event I now wish I had chosen bespoke timber doors
