"I wanted to replace my white upvc door …"

I wanted to replace my white upvc door with something more secure. I paid a visit to BWM to see what was available. I chose a SOLIDOR door in Schwartz Braun black. The staff were very knowledgeable and helped us with our choice. The fitters
Chris and Morgan were very professional, clean and tidy. I am very pleased with my door. Apart from the added security, it looks superb! Everyone says how good it looks and suits the house. I would recommend Solidor to anyone! Patricia Jones.

"Dream door"

For years, and I mean years we have been looking for a composite doors without the disgusting lever handle that you see on ever other door. Then I discovered Solidor. The range of styles and colours is better than any other companies. Thee was also the option of having no ugly handle. We went for a traditional centre knob. It's looks beautiful and is super practical. The construction is fantastic. The door feels sturdy and weighty without being heavy on the hinges.it's a wooden core with thermoplastic coating as opposed to the regular foam and fibreglass construction (which to me is a surfboard not a door). The furniture is great quality and corrosion proof which is ideal as we live by a tidal river. The lock is apparently impenitrable. They are more expensive than other brands but I do believe it was worth paying that extra bit for.

"door not fit for purpose"

We brought a front door with side windows. It looks nice and we have had many complements BUT be warned the quality is extremely poor. There is constant movement in the frame /door and so it takes great force to close.
We have to get this adjusted on a weekly basis by a local handyman but the door just drops again after a day or so
The frame seems to be too weak to support the door.

I have used Solidor for over 2 1/2 years now and can honestly say i have not been let down once. Being in the industry for 30 years i find this very rare. The products are first class and the staff & customer service are second to none. Grace, Lucy and the whole team are always helpful, cheerful and never negative. A pleasure to deal with and would highly recommend. A+++++

Having purchased three complete Solidor door sets some time ago, great quality products as is the customer service I received recently.
Requiring a replacement threshold rubber gasket, accidentally damaged, I contacted Grace, Marketing Co-ordinator at Solidor who sorted the required gasket and posted to my home within a very short space of time.
Grace kept me informed of progress from the start, if only more company's
were like Solidor.

"Solidor is an absolute joke"

Solidor is an absolute joke. Of the half a dozen doors that I have bought from them, half have been faulty and have warped in a short space of time. The last door was supplied with incorrectly positioned keeps just so that the door would initially work correctly, however this soon deteriorated into the door hardly locking at all without significant force to close it. Solidor offered to remake the door frame only, but sent out the replacement with hardware fitted in the wrong places.
As a gesture of goodwill I offered to replace the side frames on this door for the homeowner so that essentially they had a brand new door frames, however Solidor even messed this up by draining the frames incorrectly and then not admitting blame for there mistake. I then had to buy another set of side frames from them to complete the job for the homeowner. Both myself and the fitter have spent hundreds of pounds in manpower, time and fuel to put right a door that should have been sorted out in the first instance by Solidor. I just hope that this particular door does not have any further problems as I just do not want to deal with this company again. For a company that claims to be "The UK's finest front doors", they could not be more wrong in this instance. A very poor product with abysmal customer service. I would look elsewhere for "The UK's Finest".

20.7.17 I expected some sort of reply from Solidor for such a scathing review but nothing yet. I will give them a few more weeks to come up with a suitable answer.

Absolutely love Solidor doors. Looks beautiful, fits beautifully, easy to keep clean. Keeps the cold out and the warmth in. In my opinion, 5 star all the way. Highly recommended from me.

"No response..... so I ordered an Endurance Composite Door"

Used the online configurator, which is great. Requested a quote on a couple of occasions and I received an email stating that a local installer would get in touch. Nobody ever did, so I have ordered an "Endurance" composite door.

"They dont want to know"

Bought two SOLIDOR's via a local window company on a supply only basis. My builder fitted the doors but left the clear celophane on for two weeks whilst the building works carried on. Two weeks after being fitted I tried to get the cellophane off but it wont come off. Despite trying a hairdryer and hot soapy water the cellophane wont come off. Despite SOLIDOR saying they recommend it be removed within 30 days and Im well within this period SOLIDOR just said there's nothing they can do. So basically despite doing everything they say in their instructions and being well within the 30 day period to remove the cellophane SOLIDOR's response is tough!
