"Do your research."
I cannot let the moment pass without a warning. Perhaps I am generous in awarding three stars.
Unfortunately, this company lies, not on a Trump scale perhaps but a lie is a lie. I needed a chairlift in a hurry. The best offer was from this firm. But made the point of explaining I would be moving in the mid-term. No problem. They would simply set the lift up at the new address, extending the track as necessary. In the event it was a case of - That model is no longer available. We wouldn’t be able to use it. You will have to take it away.
My elderly neighbour, having seen the lift, decided she wanted one. When she had to leave her property, she was confronted by a similar. Problem. The removal is your responsibility.
My nephew lived next to an elderly lady who, only two weeks ago, moved into a care home. Sadly, she died yesterday. Her son was told they didn’t want the relatively new lift. Eventually, they agreed to pay him £50.00 when he said he would put it in a skip.
Reliability. My new lift is most frustrating in that the remote control - so they told me - is very sensitive and even a passing fly, or a change in the outside light, when fitted through stained glass, is enough to interrupt the signal so that the thing can stop, 3 or 4 times during its ‘flight.’
Regarding the new installation: when the Rep. called to measure up we agreed to a new purchase. We hap to make a good faith deposit. Because of electronic problems, this transaction was made by cheque. The installation was completed but, for four months afterwards, they were still asking me for the deposit. I had made the full payment at this stage, minus the deposit. I eventually cancelled the cheque but no-one at the firm knew what had happened to the cheque. They probably still don’t. I don5 know why they were reluctant to follow the simple expedient o& asking their Rep. what he did with it.

"20/10 for this Company!"
20/10 for this Company! From first phone call, through to a finished perfect job, this company ticked all the boxes - the staff were very helpful, listened to our needs, sent informed surveyors to work the bathroom design out for the best use for my disabled husband. The workman was a delight to have here - work of the best finish, very detailed, and the area spotless/safe every evening when he left. Prompt early morning starts - no problems whatsoever. I wish every English company had this work ethnic..
Delighted is an understatement! Thank you so much Handicare.

"Very poor aftersales"
Two years ago I arranged two installations of Handicare stairlifts, one for my 85 year old mother and one for my 94 year old aunt. Both installations went to plan as expected.
However, Handicare Stairlifts UK after sales support and additional cost service plans are extremely poor at best, between my two stairlifts I have arranged annual services, the first Handicare cancelled four times at great inconvenience and stress to my mother and now my aunt has received a second cancellation. This has caused endless calls and return calls to Handicare to rearrange further dates. On each occasion I was let down by them giving me the reason they hadn’t enough service engineers. THIS IS NOT MY PROBLEM HANDICARE YOU ARE QUICK TO TAKE THE MONEY FOR INSTALLATIONS BUT VERY POOR WITH YOUR CUSTOMER CARE!!!

"I contacted Handicare for a brochure…"
I contacted Handicare for a brochure for stairlifts. After choosing the type I wanted it was arranged for someone to come out to advise what I needed. Everyone I dealt with was very nice and I never once felt pressured in any way. Delivery of the stairlift parts went very well and every bit of packaging was taken away. On the day of setting up of the stairlift the fitter came and after some discussion with me he proceeded to assemble the lift. It was all done so professionally and the quality of the stairlift is really good. I would highly recommend Handicare to anyone who's thinking of having a stairlift installed, the quality of the materials used and the professional way of working to install was really impressive.
