"Really poor service and experience - cannot recommend"

We asked for a quote from Prime Time Boilers for a replacement boiler. We had a video survey on 21 January 2025 and decided to go ahead because the price quoted was in the middle of the three quotes we received.
During the video survey we were informed that it would be a one-day job (in line with our other quotes), but once we had paid and received email confirmation this had changed to a two-day job.
This wasn’t a big deal and the installation started on 28 January and the installer left on 29 January after admitting he could not install the Hive thermostat we had paid for but assuring us the new boiler was operational and we would have heating and hot water.
Without 15 minutes of him leaving our property the boiler stopped working and could not provide heating or hot water.
We made repeated attempts to contact Prime Time boilers via phone and email and we were effectively ignored for a couple of days. Although we could not get through to anyone to fix our problem, we received emails trying to sell us a service plan.
The problem with the boiler was not resolved until the afternoon of Friday 31 January. In total, this meant that we had no central heating (except when the frost prevention setting came on when the temperature in our house dropped below 5 Celsius) for 4 days in January. We have young children and this was a problem.
The installer also caused damage to our property including breaking our exterior security light without even having the courtesy to tell us.
After the installation we were informed that a “zone valve” in our airing cupboard needed replacing and we would need to pay for this separately. Given the example of the broken sensor, and the fact that the original installer struggled to fit our thermostat before leaving us with no working heating we are very suspicious about this because everything seemed to be working perfectly prior to Prime Time’s involvement.
During installation an oil stain was created on the paving leading from the front of our house to the rear – again the installer did not mention this at the time and made no attempt to clean it up.
The installer did not sweep up the debris in our back garden following the external works and we had to do this. This included dust, broken brick and various other items of debris such as screws which could be dangerous to our children;
Our new thermostat was not fitted until 22 February – 25 days after the start of the job.
We raised a complaint on 25 February, and received an automatic acknowledgement. We chased the complaint on 20 March but have received no response. We have been totally ignored.
Given that we spent almost £4000 we are very disappointed with the service received and cannot recommend Prime-Time Boilers.

Jon was a really nice guy, very efficient and tidy. We needed a new gas run and he was able to come and complete all the works the day after.
