"Great car club!"
I made a last-minute decision to go to Orkney, where I would need a car for a day. My application was dealt with quickly and my smart card arrived within days. Booking, pick-up and return of vehicle were easy, and I had positive, efficient and friendly service from Co-Wheels right through, including reporting a problem with connecting with the charging station at the end. Unlike the review of another recent user, my car was so new and clean that I was a bit nervous about getting it dirty or scratching it! I feel that the pricing structure is very fair, and I am pleased that I can freeze my membership subscription for a couple of months until I need a car again.

Great company, great cars, great way to hire a vehicle. So much better than paying for your own car, MOT, road tax, insurance, ... you dont pay for any of that, just mileage and a hourly rate.

Glasgow desperately needs a service like this - I'm glad co-wheels has set up here.
Upon joining, there were some issues with joining up processes. The website and app were quite confusing and I had to call in several times to get it resolved. In fairness, the agents I've spoken to have always been helpful.
The car nearby I've been using has issues, which I've fed back to Co-wheels (at their request) but I was disappointed not to get any reply. the auto-adjust steering feature in MG4's is downright dangerous - and it seems that it can't be turned off. We also struggled with getting google maps connected to the screen. Having used the car several times, it's extremely temperamental.
My greatest concern was about cleanliness. On each occasion, the car has been filthy - like properly filthy. I was told that they get cleaned every fortnight, but that is simply not sufficient. Other on-street car hire schemes have done a much better job at maintaining a minimum standard of cleanliness of their cars through more appropriate cleaning schedules. Co-wheels seem deluded about what is required in reality.
I would never pick up other people in a co-wheels car, because you can bank on the car being dirty inside and out. I've seen the seats covered in dried mud, and the windows literally covered in bird droppings. It's pretty minging.
I really hope Co-wheels sorts out the teething issues and raises its standards.

"Affordable car club & great customer support"
I've had Co-Wheels for 2 years now and have been very happy with it. Customer support are always there when I need them and take prompt action to help me. The membership and rates are affordable and fairly priced, and there's a great selection of automatic transmission cars near to where I live. Highly recommend!

"Too bureaucratic, lots of issues"
I only use Co-Wheels occasionally and every time so far there were bureaucratic issues that would make the whole renting process far more complicated than it should need to be. First, they would not accept my European driving licence even though it is perfectly valid in the UK. Next, I almost got stuck in the middle of nowhere because there was no internet access in the highlands and the car wouldn’t open the doors without connecting to the internet. I had to call the police for help because I couldn’t get home anymore. Then, they require an annual licence check for „insurance reasons“ but they are incredibly stubborn about only accepting DVLA share codes for verification. DVLA had some technical issues though with generating this share code, which meant that I suddenly didn’t have car access any more even though everything was fine with my driving licence per se. I tried to phone co-wheels support but they were really unhelpful claiming that they couldn’t do anything about it because their IT system requires them to do these things in a very specific way.
I could go on, but overall, I cannot recommend co-wheels at all because their bureaucratic hurdles and their obsession with technicalities make a smooth experience impossible.

"Amazing customer service"
This car club is super useful, I've started using them recently and everything was very smooth.
They'r customer service in also very very quick and useful and I think it's one of their strenght, I contacted them via email this morning and got an answer in about 30 minutes.
Some days ago I've also needed some assistance while using one of the cars, mostly I've endod the rental in the wrong parking spot. When I phoned they were super helpful and put the can in "maintenance" for 15 minutes, which allowed me to unlock the can and park it in the right place.
