"Dont buy any bottle!!! The “ gift card voucher” they send are…"

Dont buy wine from this site and owner:
Nakedwine.com
The “ gift card voucher” they send are spam. They want to make you think they are giving you a discount but they are charging you anyway and obligating to get in to the site and buy the supposed 12 bottles. They dont let you buy 3 bottles or less to spend the 100$ of the gift card they send because they want to charge you anyway. They are liers. So in my case I never buy any bottle of them because i doubt if the wine is really wine. It was a really bad expirience in my personal opinion.

"Expand your wine repertoire"

I’ve been an Angel for a year now. I order a case about every other month. My subscription is $40/month. I just switched to the wine genie subscription because I just don’t have time to research the wines and figure they are the experts and I will probably find more wines to love with them selecting. Hoping I’ll use the freed up time to rate the wines because I haven’t been good about that and it’s their concept.

Delivery has been great—on time and always get notifications.

My only complaint is the app. It is not really user friendly, have issues with navigation and I still can’t figure out bottle count! You can order 6, 9, 12 or 15 bottles it says but I’ll have 9 in my cart and it tells you you have to pick more. Gets frustrating and usually delays my ordering.

Overall it’s worth it.

"The first box was good but follow ups are bad"

The first box was good. But we accumulated some money and got a big box which had 16 bottles of wines and not a single one was good. We literally had to throw away half of them. Never going to try that again.

"I cancelled my account in May 2022…"

I cancelled my account in May 2022 after about 2 years using the service. They confirmed that the account was transferred, and they continued to charge my cc.
While I had service, it was good. The wines are not great quality, but decent. I'm writing this because of what just happened after cancelling service...they try to slip a fast one by 4 months later. Be careful.

"Stultus cave"

I just signed up for NakedWines and as I have not received the shipment yet I can't comment on the central issue - are the wines good value? I can, however, comment on the issue of scamming. I'm notorious for only half paying attention to things, but even I perfectly understood the deal. I got 12 bottles of wine for about $89 by using the voucher as my introductory offer to a subscription service. (I half-read somewhere that it's not technically a subscription service but it feels like one to me.) I pay $40 a month for what I hope will be wines I will enjoy. I'm no wine connoisseur -- more of a two-buck Chuck kind of guy -- but heck, if I don't like what they send me I'll cancel the 'subscription'. The principle 'caveat emptor' always applies, but it's more problematic in cases of 'stultus cave'.

"Very Happy Camper. Cheers!"

I have been a NakedWines Angel for over 3 years, and frankly could not be happier. I must admit, like many others here, I did not carefully review the terms upon first ordering with their $100.00 voucher, but that’s on me, not them.

I found out about the $40.00 monthly Angel deposit when they sent me a followup email prior to the first deduction, whereupon I read the details, saw every penny in my account would be refunded upon request, and forged ahead.

Best decision I’ve made in a long time! I have enjoyed countless excellent bottles of wine over the years, and enjoy the NakedWines community and the opportunity to chat with the winemakers. There are absolute gems here and the value far exceeds whatever mass market swill is available at my local liquor store.

"All above board"

I'm satisfied with their wines and the terms. But then again, I know how to read.

Nothing here is a scam if you read past the first line. Everything is spelled out clearly and concisely. No sympathy for lazy people that don't.

"SCAM!"

SCAM!! Buyer beware! The $100 voucher is a bait and switch gimmick to get your info and charge you monthly fees.

You will not get anything for free with their $100 voucher, they require a minimum of 6 bottles to place an order and if your total is under $100 it will not allow you to checkout without paying them. This is not a $100 voucher, it has as much worth as a coupon. You will not get $100 off unless you spend a certain amount. The customer service is unapologetic as if they don't know the shady tactics used by this company, they have been trained to give cookie cutter answers, probably because a lot of other people figured this out and call up to complain.

Sorry naked wines, you won't get squat from me and these shady tactics killed any intention of me trying their service out. On top of that, I'm going to spread the word on how shady and crooked their voucher program is.

"I love naked wines and I know how to read terms"

I received a voucher, like most people, for $100 of a case of wine. It was a great deal, so I was quick to try it. When I placed my order, it said underneath the "place order" button in large, clear print that by placing my order I was signing up to be an angel and was pledging a minimum of $40 per month. This was a few years ago.

When covid hit, I lost my job and had to cancel. I had $80 in my account at the time and was given the option to have it refunded to my card. I did so and received my refund within a few business days. Super easy.

A few months later, I realized I forgot that I'd previously signed up for automatic shipments of my favorite wines when they became available. Since you don't need to be an angel to purchase from the site and I hadn't deleted my account, these were shipped. I'm really bad at checking my email, so I didn't see the warning that they would ship soon and the opportunity to skip or cancel this subscription. I only saw the email that said my wine had shipped, which actually overdrafted my account (embarrassing, but whatever it's the truth). I panicked and called customer service, which I got through to about as quickly as you would with other busy call centers. I was on hold a while, but I just did something else while I waited. I explained my situation to the customer service rep, who by the way was the sweetest rep I've ever talked to, and she was extremely understanding. Most companies won't issue a refund to a card after wine has been shipped, but they did. I received it in time to avoid an overdraft fee and they attempted to cancel the shipment (it was successful). She let me know that if they weren't able to cancel it, I could ship it back for free.

I received an email a week ago saying that I had a voucher for a 15 wine case, totaling $86 after discount, which ends up being a little over $5 per bottle. I went to use the voucher and yet again there it was, clear as day, that by placing my order I was signing up for the angel program. These negative reviews smack of people who don't read large print terms and then take it out on companies. Reminds me a lot of people who don't read coupon terms or expiration dates and then yell at cashiers. Naked wines is awesome, they have great customer service, and I'm happy I'm an angel again.

P.S. Hey guys, did you see where it says by leaving a review you agree for trustpilot to create an account for you? In big letters? The terms on the naked wines website are even larger font than that :)
