Naked Wines United States

"Extremely frustrating experience"
My experience with Naked Wines was one that was deceiving and additionally that the team provided poor customer service. I received a $100 gift card from Naked Wines a month or so ago and was very excited to try it out. Upon initially making a purchase I received an email stating “thank you for being an Angel”. I thought this was a little odd and was curious if they were referring to me as an angle investor so I logged back into the website and sure enough under my profile they had signed me up to contribute $50/month without my permission. Ironically I was talking to a military friend of mine about this and the exact same thing happened to him only he didn’t catch it in time. Working on retail and the beverage industry this behavior is frankly inappropriate and does not leave a good first impression while starting a new company and trying to build relationships. I wish I could say that was the end or this but it was not. I was promised a delivery within a week or so to which the product did not arrive. My girlfriend and I were going to be out of town so I reached out to inform the company as I know they require someone to be there to show proof of being over 21. They got back to me and scheduled a new date for when I returned. The product did not arrive that day, the following, or the day after. I reached out again to ask when I should expect it to which I was informed the product was at a UPS carrier facility for my convenience….well this facility was 30 minutes away from my house so 1) that is not convenient 2) I paid for it to be shipped to my house and 3) I was informed it would be re-scheduled to me delivered to my house. And more than anything I should not be the one having to reach out to find out it’s not coming, at the minimum that should have been communicated. Haven’t tried the wines yet and I’m sure they will taste great. I received another $100 gift card from them but threw it away instantly because honestly it’s not worth the headache of going through this again.

"Bait and switch"
Bait and switch. Placed one order using a cross-site promo link only to be charged $40 for nothing a month later. Turns out they consider one promo order a subscription sign up... smh

"You will not be disappointed!"
I have been with naked wines for probably two years now. The website is very easy to navigate to find the wines for your particular palate. I usually prefer their red wines but they have some nice white as well, when you find one order it quickly as they do go out of stock. I think trial and error on the whites is your best bet. I have had many surprisingly great reds and have set up yearly deliveries on those ( such as P. Stephen Millier Calaveras County) so I don't miss out. Give them a try, I do not think you will be disappointed.

"Great Customer Service"
Early in the pandemic, a friend turned me on to this company. The wines they sent me were interesting and a very good value. However, without having company over, I just didn't need a lot of wine. I called to cancel and they were totally pleasant, and it was easy to work with them and cancel. It shouldn't be this way, but so few companies offer such excellent service.

"I would rate them as less than zero if I could"
I would rate them as less than zero if I could. Thanks to a customer service representative named Rachel who was very abrasive who proceeded to tell me she couldn’t help me so she was canceling my order. When I asked her for her customer Id number or an identification so I could make a complaint about her instead of any other Rachel who may work there she told me she was not comfortable doing that and she hung up on me before I could ask for a confirmation number or reference number to confirm that I had canceled my membership. I had to call back twice to try and get a confirmation. I was told I would have to speak to a manager to have that done. Karen the manager did call me back from the time we said hello she was arrogant obnoxious ignorant abrasive ill mannered and uninterested. She said since my account was canceled we have no business with each other so what do I want. I told her I wanted a confirmation email and that our mutual business was getting me written confirmation that the account was canceled and I wanted to complain about Rachel after all she canceled the order out of frustration telling me I was not a good fit. The CEO Max Miller emailed me with an offer that sounded really good otherwise I would not have done business with them again having dealt with them briefly previously.
The manager Karen D extension 246 was so arrogant rude obnoxious ignorant uninterested abrasive aggressive and unwilling to go beyond her statement from the moment we said hello to each other which she followed up with your account is canceled so we have no business with each other. My response I didn’t want to speak to a manager I wanted confirmation that my account was closed and I was told I had to speak to a manager so there was our business. This company offers services that it does not can not or will not provide if you call them on it you get Rachel or Karen. It’s less stressful to go to your local grocer or wine and spirit store or gas station a lot of them have online shopping for pick up and or delivery. Door dash and insta cart can actually also provide online ordering and delivery. This way you get exactly what brand you know and love without the aggravation lies deception and attitude of speaking with Rachel or Karen

"Received a "gift card." Come to find…"
Received a "gift card." Come to find out it's not a gift, since you're still required to spend money. I think their web site is deceptive. No mention until the last click (in small print) that I was joining their wine club at $40/month. Furthermore, on the FAQ page, there is no mention of how to stop the "forced" membership. Maybe their wine is good. I will never know because I thankfully didn't click the BUY button. However, if you have to trick your customers from the first interaction, it says a lot about the company.

"My grandma was so satisfied"
My grandma was so satisfied by this company and costumers service that she won't stop taking about it! Alisia Loza was the associate that helped her and had a great experience with her. 5 starts for her and the company and the wine was as good as her service.

"Appreciate the customer service"
Update - I appreciate that this company did the right thing and went above and beyond to send me 6 bottles of wine after their error. I appreciate the quality customer service. I'm changing my review to 4 Stars due to the resolution.
I received my box of 6 wines that I bought trying out the $100 promo coupon. The wines were pretty pricey if you are not an Angel member, but I figured since this was the first time buying, let me test this out first. I was very disappointed that one of my wines was missing and was replaced with a low priced Pinot Noir which I don't drink. I ordered 2 bottles of Franc Dusak Sonoma Valley Chardonnay 2020 at $26.99 a bottle and only received 1. I wrote and email because they were doing some phone training last week and I couldn't get through. They are supposed to get back to you within a timely manner, but I never received a reply forcing me to once again try and call. I was able to get through and speak to a rep who told me they were going to credit my card back for around $12 due to the coupon. I asked for her to please just send me the bottle of wine and she said she could not since it was only 1 bottle. So I only get back $12 for an already overpriced bottle of Chardonnay. I won't be giving them my business anymore which is a shame because I just ended my wine.com membership and was looking for a new company to order from. It certainly won't be this one. This is not how you conduct business.

"Good wine, good prices, nuisance marketing"
I joined back in May and I have a case of 12 bottles arriving today. The service is decent, though do be aware you are signing up for a $40 per month paid subscription service. If that were a surprise to a new customer, it would be an unpleasant one.
Three stars rather than five because nakedwines uses pretty obnoxious, constant and aggressive marketing. I think the famous "Max" who signs the email blasts is one of those guys who wakes up in the morning after dreaming of marketing, dresses for sales, eats sales for breakfast, then has a meeting with his team about sales. Sales for lunch and dinner.
In the first few weeks I got an absolute WALL of email from them. Customer service was cheerful about it in a sort of grating way, pointing me to a page full of opt-out settings. When I STILL got more email after opting out, I complained in their forums and they went in without asking and changed the opt-out preferences. Super irritating.
