I was delighted with my New Windows and the Installers were First Class, Very Professional,Careful taking out the Old Windows and Clearing Up All the Debris to leave the House and Garden neat and Tidy.A Job Well Done

My husband and I had a sales person come by for a prearranged appointment. We had only been intending to get a quote as we didn’t feel we were in a position to purchase our windows outright just now. However at the end of the appointment we signed on the dotted line and paid the deposit along with the £350 admin charge. After sleeping on it we decided we had rushed into our decision, and although extremely happy with the product and price we shouldn’t commit ourselves to such a big expense just now. I followed the instructions to let them know straight away that we wanted to cancel. We knew we would lose our non refundable admin fee but that was our fault for rushing in. I made it clear to those I spoke to from the company that I loved the product etc but it’s not the right time for us just now. They cancelled my order no problems, I have not been bombarded with calls, and I have now received my refund in full (a lovely surprise to receive my £350 admin fee back too).

Excellent service. Installers were very courteous and tidy. Windows were fitted in very wet conditions and the fitters tidied up well after themselves. Very happy with overall service. Very well finished. Was quite worried when I was reading the previous reviews regarding Penicuik and the installers but had no reason to worry at all. Very satisifed.

Replaced 4 windows in my 139 year old cottage. Two of which were upstairs bay windows. The windows were ready quickly and the fitting was arranged.

Mr Trotter and Cathcart did a marvelous job of fitting the windows. They were fitted and finished to a high standard. All this done in the pouring rain.

Windows look great, no more cold breezy rooms and less road noise. Well worth the money.

4 windows replaced in under a day. Great work from Donald and Craig, polite and hard working with a good finish. They cleaned up outside and inside and left the area at least as clean as before they started. Only downside is that one DG unit arrived cracked, but assured it will be replaced in a few days and no reason to disbelieve this.

We contacted Penicuik as we saw adds on facebook. We have 7 windows and 2 doors to change. We already had 2 companies coming into our house: both times it took roughly 45 minutes for the person to measure up, explain the products, and we had a quote within few days. No pressure at all to sign anything.
So, when the sale person, names Carolanne (or Caroline, not too sure of the exact spelling) came, we were confident it would not last forever. Both my partner and I used to work in sales, so we know the techniques, and baring in mind that changing that many windows and doors is expensive, we both agreed on not signing anything on the spot.
Anyway... enters Carolanne. The appointment was made for 7 pm, she turned up 15 minutes late. To be fair she called us to let us know. When she arrived, she started a very long speech about Penicuik, their windows, the fact that they have the best quality on the market for a very reasonable price. She then decided to measure up every single window and door herself.... at that point, we started to be quite wary as she never mentioned she was a qualified surveyor. She then added the numbers and started with a ridiculous quote: 24000 pounds. She then reassured us and said that of course we would not be asked to pay this amount of money... May I ask what is the whole point of giving us a quote? She said that with all the discounts (scrappage and others), the bill would only be 12k.
As we were still not convinced (honestly, who would be?), she said she could possibly get an extra discount from her manager. It was about 8.3pm, Tuesday night, both my partner and I were working early next morning. We had no food in the fridge and we could see she was feeling very comfortable in the house. As she saw that we would definitely not sign anything, she called her boss, twice, in front of us, to tell him we refused to sign. The said boss asked to speak to my partner... apparently he was to us while having his dinner, lucky him... just no manners, We felt extremely pressurized to sign. Her last offer was to sign the contract, pay the admin fee of £350 pounds, and then eventually retract. We still refuse: we had 2 other quotes, both cheaper, one from an amazing company, and anyway for such an expense we are entitled to few days, just to sort out our finance, see if the bank is willing to give you a loan, and most important, if we can afford it! So we still refused this. She finally left at 9.15pm. Penicuik called us the next day to come again... again we refused. Carolanne called my partner a week later, to discuss again. He politely refused, as this honestly felt like harassment. She did not even say goodbye and instead, she just hung up.
To conclude: I cannot judge the quality as we chose another company to do our windows. However, they do need to update their selling methods. A customer is always entitled to think about a quote, and in the case and decides to go with another company, this never ever allows you to be rude.
