"Very poor experience. Would not recommend."

Took out a contract with Penicuik in February 2018 to replace the roof and walls of our existing conservatory. Was initially told that work would be ready to begin within 4 weeks (though in the interest of clarity, this was not contractually stated). After 6 weeks, we made contact and was told that 'the measurements didn't match up and we'd need a new surveyor visit'. Ok, fine, but why did we have to contact you to be told this? Various surveyors ended up coming out over the course of the next few months and after each time, we were told that the measurements didn't add up and we would need another visit. At around the 6 month mark, I called Penicuik and asked to be released from the contract due to no work being completed - this was refused. I then offered for both sides to walk away, no questions asked - this was also refused. After nearly 8 months, we finally received communication that the company were unable to uphold the contract and that the deposit would be refunded. The best part - I then contacted another company, who are due to complete the work next week, for a cheaper price!

"Lovely bay windows"

Have had 2 Bay windows and 2 bedroom windows installed on Thursday and Friday. Scott and John were very polite and hard working, answered any questions we had and cleaned up each night. We are very pleased with our new windows and the service we received but have to say we have felt a bit harassed with phone calls asking us to have more windows measured to receive a “discount”. If we are pleased with the service offered we would get in touch ourselves to have any remaining windows done. I feel this aspect has spoiled our overall experience. We still have scaffolding up at the back of the house with no indication of when it will be removed.

"Penicuik Admin fee scam"

I have been trying for the past three weeks to have a 'Admin' fee of £349 refunded.
I signed no contact and purchased nothing from Penicuik.
The sales rep (Jane Reilly) asked me for £349 'to get the best deal' as she was having to visit me on a second occasion.
On her second visit we did not conclude a deal.
I emailed Penicuik and informed them I had not entered into a contract and would they return my money.
I did receive an email reply acknowledging same.
Since then I have emailed them two or three times without response.

Excellent service. 2 doors fitted, front and back, Gary was on time, courteous, and worked diligently until finished with no mess. Finish is excellent and I am very pleased with the work.

Very pleased with doors and windows , fitters were excellent.
Only aspect of company that's bad is constant phone calls from sales people after to purchase more stuff. After spending 10grand with them don't need constant calls if I need anything I will be in touch

Good efficient service provided by Penicuik. Well organised throughout process of having 6 windows installed. Fitter very pleasant and cleaned up after himself, even took the time out to adjust our front door which was catching. He identified a small crack on one of the new windows received and organised to have it replaced asap. Will use again in future.

We are delighted with the service and products we received. Tradesmen very professional polite and cleaned up after themselves. We purchased windows, doors and facia and are very happy with everything. From the first meeting with the salesman, liaising with staff over the phone and having the tradesmen in our home was a smooth painless experience. The price was very competitive too.
