"Nice door shame about the letterbox"

Craig and Stuart fitted my door and it really went well until we noticed that the letterbox had been missed when the door was being made. By that time the old door was already removed and the new frame installed.
I then had a failed attempt to put a letterbox in because the next guy was told it was a replacement so he didn't have the correct tools with him.
Door was fitted 4 weeks ago and I'm hoping all goes well with the letterbox in 10 days time.
So I do really like the door and it's been fitted really well by the guys and I'm glad I have a lovely neighbour who is taking all my mail in!

"Did a Fantastic Job"

Penicuik were absolutly brilliant. Andy and Tommy who fitted my windows and doors were completly professional and worked to a very high standard. It was only suppose to be over two days but they wanted to make sure the install was perfect, so they returned for a third day to do all the finishing touches. They walk you round at first explaing what they are planning on doing and at the end of each day talk you through how to use the windows and what has still to be completed.
There was a problem with one of the panes of glass which was cracked but Andy and Tommy notice it and ordered a new one there and then.
Craig who sold us the products took the time to listen to what our specifications were and thoroughly explained the features of the windows and doors.
Overall I'm very happy with the complete experience and the quality of the products.

We are complaining about the work you did in renewing our French doors took from February till September to get right the first complaints are
Problems with new door
This is the first complaint after fitting inside
Silicone not finished and finish on bits is not good (still not right will sort ourselves)
Door not fitting right more draughts than the old door (on the 3rd time was found out the flymuillon was fitted in right, this is still not right at the handle section cane still put paper in and still a draft)
Framing round glass at the top not mitred to fit (was sorted on the 3rd time)
Side trim on at a slant (can’t do nothing with it now
Outside
Under the second door is open in one bit (still not right but will seal our self’s)
Marks on plastic trims (they have been replaced)
Not silicone at the sides of hinges (still the same after 3 visits)
Silicone not finished well and some missing (better will finish our self’s)
Some screws are not in right (have been replaced in different place now have 2 holes where they were)
Top outside not fitted to finish off framing round doors (after 2 visits now blocked off still not right sealed with silicone).
On the second visit
The workman had to take out the glass on both doors as was not packed properly with the right materials lower one door handles are slightly off now plus the bottom of frame was not fixed down had to drill and put in long screws and no drain holes if water got in this was second day with doors open cold and wet and when left had a problem to close doors asked a neighbour to look as he is a joiner was told the doors were hinge bound he as you will see from 1st page still all was not sorted .
On the third visit
It was found out that the flymuillon was only clipped in on at one side this has sorted a lot of draught coming in but still one bit beside the handle small draught and out in folded paper shut door can slide paper up and down And sorted out first complaints as you will see on first page on installation a flashing was put on at top opened door to go out and got all wet it had not been sealed and water was coming in the back of it and out of bits that was not closed off right told workman on 3rd visit and he sorted it
We think this is very bad workmanship was told by salesman that they did a perfect job or they were put back to sort it and didn’t get paid found out that does not happen now was here to give a price and it would be frozen so I could save the money in that time kept reducing the price also was told 10 year warranty and 1 year free insurance that say if dog scraped the door I could get it replaced and the next year was £90 for insurance and warranty would get 5 years added to make it 15 years got to get finance was told if died the loan was written off as not a secured loan so put it in both names as was told who every died the whole loan would be cleared this is all not true as found out don’t know if true about load felt very pressured but new I could clear the finance in 12 months
have not done feedback as have seen some and are not good so didn’t bother feel we should be recompensed for all these problems we have had 3 days off being very cold draughts coming in door was beside heater and kept putting it on to heat used more oil if so it could be put to the loan to reduce it sorry for taken time to do this but was going in for laser surgery in my mouth and have not felt like do this till now

got email on the 28th June fitters coming on the 6th July emailed back as I had an appointment I could not cancel waited to hear back about another day to come never heard phoned got told tom Hannah was in meeting would phone back said I never hear back from him I then sent email to him still never got reply have phoned again have got a date for august since February your service like tom Hannah has been unacceptable and disgraceful I hope to hear from you and not like tom Hannah the prosses for this job has been a nightmare and I think we should get some compensation for all of this inconvenience

September renewed flymuillon now no drafts every thing gets passed from one to another with no help originally was meant to freeze price for 12 months Was put on interest as it halved the price but funny it comes out at the same as first cash price will all be paid within 12 months of fitting as we wanted still think there should be some compensation for all this trouble have put in a formal complaint but still no better stay clear of this company
thought nightmare was over just got a letter from them asking me to sign direct debit for care free service agreement was told back in febuary we had a manufactors warrenty for 10 years and was getting a free year for an insurance then it would be £90 a year to protect against any defects and accidential damage and was very worth while to take out and it would extend my manufactors warrenty up to 15 years not so hinges and handels any moving parts not covered after 1 year this is what the carefree is for if you pay 10 years of carefree your warrenty is extended i have in writting it is £90 they are saying it is £149 a year they say i would have had a letter about trying to get money from back the first i got was a direct debit to sign not saying how much it was for who signs that without knowing they say we ticked to have it funny how that form has no direct details on it as was told they would be intouch after free year which is febuary 2019
ps supposed to be getting a phone call from national complaints manager if he does he will be the first person to get back to us

Absolute disgusting company from the salesmen who tell nothing but lies to the call centre staff who do the same total disregard & disrespect for the customer part of the kairos group I urge people please do not use any of this group of companies you will regret it

"A job well done."

The installers, Dale and Ross, were fantastic. They were polite, efficient and very straight forward in that they explained what they would be doing and in what order and timings. I'm very happy with the job they have done and the way they cleaned up after themselves. The only reason that 1 star was dropped is that they were meant do the job on Monday but the company van had a problem and there was no replacement so the job had to be done on an alternative date which was a bit problematic. So other than that a lovely job.

"Our experience with PENICUIK"

We had a Penicuik salesman come to our house as we had thought about getting here new windows in our to corridor in our roof space. We had an appointment time but he arrived late.
I'm not sure what he thought he was there for as we made ourselves quite clear from the start of the visit that he should be brief and we wanted no waffle. He didn't take the hint and produced enough flannel to supply a hotel with towels. He chatted on about trivia, attempted to crack jokes, when all we wanted was the price and main details. One of the questions we asked he could not answer and had to ring his boss. An age later he came up with a price and appeared to expect a round of applause. He then wrote out the contract and quoted a different price on it and had to scribble it out. As we were due to go on holiday within a few weeks, he promised the windows would be fitted by the end of the month.

A couple of days later the surveyor came around to measure up accurately, but I had to supply him with a ladder, as the salesman had neglected to tell him that the windows were in our roof. He measured one window from the inside and assumed the other two would be the same dimensions, which luckily was the case.

A few days later I received a call from Penicuik to say the surveyor had advised that the price we had been quoted was wrong, in our favour by over £600. But we heard no further, so I had to chase Penicuik twice by phone to get the revised price confirmed in writing on an e-mail. They made the excuse that they did not call me back second time as they did not have my phone number, which was a bit odd as it was they who had called me in the first place.

We were then called the be told our windows would be fitted on 1st of the next month, not as their salesman promised. I insisted they stick to their promise, and they re-arranged the date to 28th of the current month.

Three days before the due date, Penicuik called wanting to re-arrange the date of fitting. We refused, mainly because we had arranged time off for the job. When the workmen arrived, they were surprised at where the windows were and told us they could not do the work as they did not have the right equipment to work safely. They told us Penicuik had not told them the details of where the windows were and how awkward the access was. They were as unhappy at this as we were. They said they promised return the next day with the correct equipment and carry out the work. This they did, and fitted the windows quickly and well. The window fitters, from "Job Worth Doing" were excellent - friendly, efficient and left no mess. We have ended up with nice looking windows.

I would never recommend Peniciuk to anyone. Completely disorganised.

"Installer came within timeline given"

Installer came within timeline given. When on arrival, he introduced himself (craig cameron) and was very polite. He brung in sheets to put down over stair,and also for the floor. Was in and out (job done) in no time at all. Tidying as he was going. Highly recommend him/penicuik again.

"Very disappointed with sales team"

Very disappointed...salesman was booked in for 2pm but did not arrive. 2.30 phoned to see what was happening and advisor said he would find out and phone right back. 3pm no response and I only got a voice message. Very frustrating as I cancelled plans with my kids and they were demanding both wife and I was present. Wife cancelled plans late to attend meeting too. What is most annoying was I had 3 calls pressurising wife was present and to confirm time. The last call only at 9.30 am that morning still confirming they would be there at 2pm. Penicuik appear to have poor customer sales service and only after your cash on the day. If they turn up......

Penicuik investigation response to my review was; I cancelled my meeting. This is more than ridiculous as last words were see you at 2pm. They obviously were not wanting to attend as they thought wife may not be present although she changed her plans to attend as they were so insistent. Not forgetting I contacted the sales team at 2.30 to find out what was happening and again at 3pm and got no positive response ..... Guess from reviews below a very lucky escape from pressure selling.
