"Buy if you want ripped off and to be intimidated in your own home."

I thought id leave a review about this company to turn people away from them as my experience has been horrible and I didn't even purchase windows from them.

However I doubt my 1 review on the top of the endless number of negative reviews will have much effect if people continue to get suckered by them.

Wanted a quote for 7 windows and 1 Door and the initial quote was £14,000 and this was with a 40% discount!!!

Needless to say I told them where to go as I had quotes from local companies in the range of £4000 - £5000 for the same work.

Had countless phone calls from them, "lets see if we can do better because that price wasnt too good". What I find incredible though is that I started with Penicuik and then the next minute its "St Andrews Home Improvement" who I am suddenly dealing with, by the way on the phone they mistakenly introduced themselves as Zenith!

One big merry go round, all the same company under a plethora of names all designed to make you think you are getting quotes from competitors and that their exorbitant prices are what you should pay.

Aggressive salesmen who don't want to leave your house and get very threatening, calling you stupid for not taking their offer.

Whats remarkable is that in the end their price had fallen from the £14,000 at the start, down to £8700, down to £7000, then £5900 and finally £3700...

I have however opted to instead go with a local installer offering a 10 year insurance backed guarantee that isn't going to go bust and claim your guarantee is null and void.

This local installer is actually costing me slightly more than their final offer however they were honest from the get-go and weren't aggressive and were always helpful.

How you can start off claiming a fair price for a product is £14,000 and suddenly you can actually do the job for £3,700 is mind boggling.

Absolute rip-off merchants, avoid at any costs.

The salesman, the surveyor and finally the fitters were all very professional and I have no complaints at all. Particularly impressed with the fitters who arrived on time and replaced four windows and a door in less than six hours. I am very pleased with the look and the quality of the products only wished that i had them fitted prior to the 'Beast from the East' arriving!

22% of people think they are bad thats about 100 of the people that reviewed them. they will not honour any old guarantees and this is the third
rebirth of the penicuik name after 2 of the parent companies went bust so your 10 year guarantees you got last year before they went bust (again) are now worthless. Keep well away and dont part with any deposit as they might go bust again and your money will be away with them...sorry . you then get a phone call from the "New" penicuik
offering to do the work but need your deposit. Dont be a mug like me

I was delighted with my new Windows and door they are of great quality, and the work done by Jamie was 1st class and he left everything very clean and tidy.

"Poor finish to mahogany finishings."

The fitters arrived in time and were polite. Our main problem was the finishing on the windows with mahogany facings. Clear silicone was used which cannot be stained or varnished. It took two attempts to get the correct glass for the kitchen window but that is now completed. The mahogany has now been redone to a more acceptable standard.

I received a call from penicuik tonight and spoke to one of your advisors called Cerrin. She was one of the best sales advisors I have spoken too and I am sure as you must be aware as a consumer we are inundated with sales calls. However if I had been interested in buying new windows I would have contacted Penicuik and Cerrin would be the reason. She was very informative and well versed in her knowledge base and she was not pushy and sounded very honest in regard to your company. Well done Cerrin and thank you

"Porch transformed beyond belief!"

Within a few weeks, my porch was installed and transformed beyond belief❣️
Kevin (who arranged it), was an excellent advisor, and the guys from Job Worth Doing (installers) were very pleasant and got the job done quickly and efficiently, and left the site tidy.
My only criticism (which is why I didn’t score 5*) is that sales people were straight on the phone, harassing me for an appointment to measure up for other jobs (which I’d already been told would be price locked for up to two years by Kevin), but one call to him and that was sorted out👍🏻
However, I’m happy with the job done - thanks Kevin❣️
