My partner and I had a very good experience on the seasonal Brussels-Venice service in a private 5-person couchette (which we opted for over a sleeper compartment despite them being the same price). The trains are a little dated but are comfortable and do the job well. We particularly liked that there was a big table in the compartment so we could play board games all evening! And most of all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - someone came round soon after departure to explain everything about the compartment and the journey and this helped settle us in and answered a lot of our questions. We slept well and would definitely do it again.

"Wonderful journey"

Amazing train if you're looking for a direct journey between Prague and Bruxelles, we arrived on time and the train staff is very friendly. I had a couchette and you can sleep pretty well in it, but there is a chance that you will wake up because sometimes it can be a little bit loud. The carriages are indeed a bit old compared to the new trains of today but it has a really nice vibe, like you're going back in time, you simply just have to like it. I would definitely recommend it!

Although I booked a seating place, I got a change to take a little nap in one of the beds (situated above the seating places. That was super lovely. The staff was very kind and helpfull.
In the end my name wasn’t on the list but the staff made sure that there was no problem as long as I could show my reservation. So, I would definitely recommend the European sleeper if one is adventurous. Even when there was no luxury of any kind, it felt like a very comfortable experience.

Great trip that brings nostalgia and a bit of adventure. Friendly staff and scheduled time respected. I slept very well on the bed. On the negative side, the heating system didn't work in our wagon (it seems to be happening a lot), the night was cold. In the morning I was offered to go in another wagon. Numbering on wagons and compartments should be improved. The toilet system in the sleeper wagon isn't effectuent, there are two but it seems only is in order but without toilet paper. Lots of switches in the sleeper cabin, few of them work, why keep em? Only one electrical outlet in the sleeper cabin, not easily accessible. The window joint was problematic, could be better to reduce noise within the cabin.
