"Your customer service is terrible"

Your customer service is terrible. Your app over charged me for a ride and your staff were rude when I contacted them. I locked my bike up but I was charged for over 110 minutes of more than I was actually cycling. Instead of refunding me and apologising your staff said that it was intact my fault that this took place. They repeatedly refused to listen to me and blamed me for the whole ordeal! The beryl app needs to actually track when customers finish their rides.

"ZERO INTEGRITY"

Hired a scooter with stiff brakes sacrificing speed and jeopardising safety.
And battery ram out so had to push last 200m!
Refused to take responsibility and was told in future check battery before hiring.
(You have to pay to unlock to see charge level!)
I have deleted my account with them and shan't use again.

"Crap"

Happy to take your money, paid 3 times to unlock a bike and it stayed locked, still charged! Eventually unlocked rode for 13 mins spent 10 miks trying to lock and I'm now home watching ot charge me still! Absolute con!

"Waste of money"

Legit spent more money going up the road on this electric scooter then I would've done in a taxi across my city. How you saving any planets when your robbing the people using your service.

"Fantastic if you want a ton of added stress on your journey"

I have used Beryl bikes in Manchester 3 times. The first time it did not register properly and I was not charged. It was also tricky to lock at the end of the journey.
The second time, I made sure the bike was locked and continued my journey on the tram. I looked at my phone and saw the journey was still continuing! I contacted customer support and was told it hadn't locked despite making a beep and being totally secured. They stopped the ride for me, but it is worrying that the ride is not stopped when the bike is clearly locked up. There was a slightly patronising tone from the customer support advisor which made me feel it was somehow my fault.
My final experience was the worst, as I was returning home at night and wanted to get home quickly. I tried to unlock the bike outside the tram stop, but it did not work despite a number of attempts. I walked home and settled in for the evening. I then noticed an alert from Beryl - I had apparently been riding for 5 minutes. The bike had unlocked itself after I got home! The helpline was closed for the night so the cost kept going up and there would be no-one available until the morning. I had to walk back up in the dark and try to lock the bike and then walk home again. I wanted to cycle to make my journey safer. Instead, I had to do the walk three times in total. I feel this is completely unacceptable and an appalling service.

"Great concept but being overcharged…"

Great concept but being overcharged constantly is frustrating and makes me not want to use Beryl at all.

The app does not immediately update. You can have your bike in the parking bay and it could take up to 4 minutes to end the ride. I’ve been charged an out of bay fee multiple times due to the app not pausing my journey. When customer support are contacted, my version of events don’t seem to exist to the staff. No refunds or apologies offered.

Why would I spend my money on a company who doesn’t listen to their customers?

"Shocking experience"

Shocking experience - do not rent these bikes - bikes failed to lock on three occasions whilst you continue to be charged- other cities easy to use -

"Fantastic customer service"

I've got an old Blaze Burner rear light (from before they changed their name to Beryl) from 2017 which is still serving me well on my commute for 5 years. I recently noticed that one of the two plastic rings of its mount which go around the seat post had cracked, the light design had changed so when I looked online you couldn't buy a replacement mount anywhere. I reached out to beryl customer services on the off chance that they could sell me one they might have leftover. Not only did they still have some left, but they have sent me it free of charge. Very impressed!

"App is complex to download and use"

App is complex to download and use. Remote unlocking didn't work. Totally inaccurate in terms of showing where bikes are located. The app doesn't recognise when bike has been locked at the end of the ride. Having said that, customer service seemed quite responsive when problems were reported. Bikes themselves are quite easy to ride. A mixed picture overall.
