"Lovely apartment, not such accommodating "Host and stay" company !"

It was a lovely apartment in a good position in Whitby. On street parking was easy, although we were very lucky and I think it could have been more challenging if there wasn't a space outside of the apartment.
However, I did find Host and Stays check out policy somewhat unreasonable to be honest. While I completely understand that they need the apartments vacated for the next visitors and this was obviously highlighted when I booked it. The clocks had gone forward the night before we left in the morning and there was absolutely no flexibility around the possibility of staying an extra hour even though we'd lost an hour from the booking. Also the check in wasn't until 4pm which is late in my opinion.
We had so many emails from them too, and an email reminding us we needed to check out by 10am otherwise we would be charged as mentioned in the terms and conditions! Not massively appreciated as it came half way through day one of our stay!
There was a party of five of us however there was only four chairs available and, I think, only four dinner plates.
Also, as noted in numerous reviews the shower was very hard to turn on.
I think I would hesitate to use a "host and stay "apartment in the future.

"Diabolical service by Host & Stay"

Rogues Barn itself was beautiful but the service from Host and Stay was diabolical. We arrived at check-in time (4pm), unpacked and settled down with a cuppa to watch the TV. The TV was not working and neither was the Wi-Fi. There was also no hot water in the kitchen tap (good job there was a dishwasher). I called immediately and reported these issues and was told they would be sorted next day and I would be called to advise of progress.
When you pay this sort of money for a stay you expect things that were promised in the property description to be working. I called twice a day, every day and was just fobbed off every time and it was still not sorted by the time we left on Friday. The property was an upside down barn conversation and although the bedrooms and bathrooms downstairs were warm (underfloor heating) the upstairs was quite cool. There was a log burner as advertised but no logs and no information as to where to get logs. There were in fact no instructions on how to use any of the appliances or anything in the Information Pack. There were two fluffy blankets in the footstool in the living room but they absolutely stink of dogs so you could not use them to keep warm. So a restful holiday in the hot tub and catching up on TV was somewhat ruined! And to cap it all on the Thursday, just as were going out an Electrical Engineer turned up to do a full electrical test on the property and wanted full access to every room. He said he'd been sent by the Landlord as the property was empty!!! Also to our dismay when trying to get the TV working we found out there was a CCTV camera pointing straight at the hot tub!! Surely this is not right - an invasion of your privacy? After the diabolical service by Host & Stay I would not book another stay through them. I would advise to avoid at all costs.

"Thousands of flies in winter inside"

Major issues with thousands of flies, property not cleaned, no WiFi, dangerous flooring, cooker not working in an apparently five star property - no assistance whilst staying in the property and 5 further emails once home - host & stay do not reply or help - as they have your money.
Do not use this company they do not care.

Flat was clean and comfortable All cooking appliances we needed and more Bed really comfortable and clean Although tv in bedroom not working not that it mattered Lovely view from the window Car parking right outside flat We will definitely return Thank you for making our break memorable

"The lodge Goathland "

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the lodge . The decor and furnishings are beautiful. The bed was very comfy and bedrooms lovely and cozy. We loved the deep free standing bath. 2 mins from the lodge and there are great walks on the moors. We had a lovely meal in the mallyan and spout pub which is 2 mins walk away. The lodge provides lots of amenities which is great as we forgot milk little milk pods were provided. The is a shop in goathland village which is around a 15 mins walk away. The sheep roam freely around the village. Ben the host was very helpful and efficient when the electric went off. It was sorted within 15 mins.
However as we were the 1st guests to use the cottage there is some small negatives I will highlight. The blue sofa wasn’t very comfy. The entrance door needs a blind/ curtain to draw in the evenings for privacy. A bigger mirror is needed in the bedroom. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.

"Absolutely the best place we have…"

Absolutely the best place we have stayed , the apartment was the best, our dogs loved the garden . Location can’t ask for better . Host & Stay have really looked after us and will definitely be booking Caedmon View again. Have already booked through them for saltburn in October, definitely recommend

"Was promised a parking permit"

Was promised a parking permit, which we didn't get and spent £44 on parking. The accommodation was not clean at all, we realised it was due to the hoover being blocked, was not bothered by the cobwebs, so we serviced the hoover and did it ourselves, They did offer to send a cleaner, but did not want anyone near our valuables. It has taken 3 phone calls, 10 AirBnB messages, 8 emails to Host and Stay and 27 days to receive the refund for the parking and our cleaners fee. Not to mention the time and stress this has taken. I had to do all the chasing every step of the way. They like to send generated messages as replys. My husband also left 2 shirts behind by mistake, we have not been contacted about this either, and personally do not have the energy to chase it up. The accommodation was beautiful and would have loved to stay there again but unfortunately our experience was tainted. We were there to celebrate our 20 year anniversary so it was a shame that this happened.

Mattresses on all the beds were lumpy and not very comfortable.
Not particularly happy with the customer service.
